KEYS OF THE ANCIENT ONES PART 1: Origins of the Race Of Watchers

Greetings!

I would like to welcome everyone to the Simon Necronomicon GateWalker’s Page. If this is your first time here, I would suggest you begin your studies by reviewing some of our previous articles.

Well, I must say we   have  covered  quite a large bit of ground with our Urilla Text Series. I will post some of my experiences soon, as well as, those who have also been initiated as Ancient Ones.

Now that we have reached the capstone in understanding what the Urilla Text means, I will discuss further methods of advanced studies in putting these teachings into practice on a mystical level. However, I feel it is imperative that we understand our history as Asuras or Ancient Ones.

In the Simon Necronomicon we are told the following concerning the Race of Watchers:

“The Watcher comes from a Race different from that of Men and yet different from that of the Gods, and it is said that he was with KINGU and his hordes at the time of the War between the Worlds, but was  dissatisfied and did cleave unto the Armies of Lord MARDUK.”

In order for us to understand who these “watchers” were, we must examine the War between the Worlds from an Ancient Ones’ perspective. We find this history in the Magan Text.

“Cold and rain that erode all things-They are the Evil Spirits-In the creation of ANU spawned-Plague Gods-PAZUZU-And the Beloved Sons of ENG-The Offspring of NINNKIGAL…,Those are they-The OWL, Messenger of UGGI…,THEY ARE CHILDREN BORN OF EARTH THAT IN THE CREATION OF ANU WERE SPAWNED.”

The above  passage gives us some very interesting information that pertains to the Watcher, as we will shortly see. In order for us to gain some clarity as to what  this passage is referring to, let us look at the works of the infamous E. A. Wallis Budge and his work BABYLONIAN LIFE AND HISTORY. On page 146 he states:

“The general editing of the magical texts seems to have taken place in the third millennium b. c., for in that time Khammurabi Magic had developed into an important and complicated science.”

What Budge is saying here is that around 3,000 b.c. there was a shift in the religious rights of Ancient Sumeria. If we  remember, the date 3,000 b.c. would be considered the “dawn of civilization’ after the flood. This time period was also marked by the disappearance of the deities that were legendary and widely discussed in prehistoric times. it also marked the ending of the original Mother-Son Rites and the beginning of the Solar Cults coming to prominence. Thus “Khammurabi Magic was not the original Rites of Sumeria. The transition between  the Mother-Son Worship and the Solar Cults were discussed in this article The Cracked Bowl of Tiamat Now let us continue with Budge’s observation:

“Originally the oldest texts were written in Sumerian, but at a later period it was found necessary to add Semetic translations, probably because  the priest were unable to read Sumerian.”

Although, it seems that Budge contradicts himself here, as we will soon see, he does let us know that much of the spiritual tradition that was used by the “Khammurabic Magical Priests” was indeed inherited from an Ancient Sumerian Cult, one that Waddell, in his bigotry termed ‘aboriginal Chaldeans.” Budge continues

“The demons and devils that made the Babylonian’s life a misery to him were many,  but the forms of most of them and their evil powers were well known. Most of all he feared the SEVEN EVIL SPIRITS, who were the creators of all evil. The first was the South Wind, the second a dragon, the third a leopard, the fourth a viper, the fifth a raging beast, the sixth a whirlwind, and the seventh a storm (hurricane). These evil spirits were created by Anu, and as plague-gods they were the beloved sons of Bel and the offspring of Ninkigal. They “rend pieces on high, brining destruction below: they are the children of the Underwprld.”

What Budge fails to observe in all of this, is that if the priests of the solar cults could not interpret the texts that predated the flood fully, they would not fully know how to engage the powers of these so-called evil spirits. However, we find some other interesting things in his words on page 147:

“As there were triads of gods, so there were triads of devils, e.g. Labartu, Labasu, and Akhkhazu….,Another triad comprised Lilu, Lilitu, and Ardat Lili.”

Budge’s observation gives us some insights on the Urilla Text as well. However, when we examine the evidence from an Ancient Ones’ perspective, we come to appreciate that the Babylonian Religion was a fabrication of a much older Ancient Tradition. If you notice that most of these evil spirits, as they are named, end with the suffix zu or tu. It would seem reasonable to conclude that the male deities ended with zu, like Pazuzu and many of the female spirits ended with tu, as in Lamashtu. There is also another error that is found in Budge’s observation, he claims that these spirits were created by Anu and this is where even the Text of the Simon Necronomicon can get tricky. It must also be considered that if they were listed in triad the, these entities were worshiped as gods and that this custom was followed and applied to the newer set of Babylonian deities However, when we compare this to the Magan Text we can get a lot more clarity.

In some of our previous discussions we observed that the Simon Necronomicon actually includes two traditions, those of the Ancient Ones and those of the Elder Gods, and depending on the tradition that you follow will also determine your perspective. it is said that the ‘Watcher’s Race’ originally derives from the Three Great Watchers, Anu Enlil, and Enki. This is also confirmed in some of the works written by Budge, as we have just discussed. However, this is not really the case because it is said that the Watcher’s Race was originally with the hordes of KINGU. Let us then look a little deeper into the Myth of Ereshkigal to gain some insight.

In the Myth of Ereshkigal we come to discover something that has been long overlooked by scholars like Budge. The Myth is basically about how Ereshkigal came to be the Queen of the Underworld. We can see what her feelings were and how she left her two brother, Enki and Enlil. yet we find an interesting passage in the story:

“a fleeting shadow crossed Enlil’s smiling face. ‘I wish I saw things your way Ereshkigal. ..Take Kur for example,  and our dark little brothers and sisters who followed him to the land’s end. It is true that Kur and the others looked different than us. But why did they leave leave the safety of the Duku, the mound of creation, why did they go beyond the waters of Mother Nammu..,”

Enlil’s words to Ereshkigal is key in unlocking what the War of the Worlds was really about. It also idicates that Enlil and Enki were not the Old Gods, but the ‘dark brothers’  were who left with Kur. This is also very clarifying because Kur was also considered the Underworld Ocean at times or Abyss. Thus the “dark brothers” were those who dwelt in the Abyss after leaving DuKu.

The Original Scarlet Woman: “ in Ancient Sumerian belief, the primal gods, the ZU, originally emerged from the great Chaos of the Abyss. This Chaos was characterized as an endless sea located in the heavens (NAMMU or TIAMAT).  The primal gods were called the Abzu (Apsu) or stellar powers connected to the Great Deep. Their servitors who carried out their will were called An-Zu, lunar powers that were connected with the air or night sky. Primary among these were the Abgal (known in the Simon Necronomicon as the APHKALLHU).”

This is very fascinating material here. What is so dynamic about it, is that we discover that there were older gods or ‘dark brothers’ who were not in the same place or appearance as the Elder Gods. Another interesting thing we must examine  before we reveal the identity of the Watcher’s Race, is to look at the history of PAZUZU.

Not much is known about Pazuzu, but we do know that he is sometimes called ZU, and also that he moves with stealth and can change in form, sometimes appearing as an ANZU Bird. He is the King of the wind demons. If we compare this to what is written in the Magan Text we can get a clearer picture about what the Race of the Watcher really means. as we have seen in the quote earlier the primal gods were called ZU. This would indicate that Pazuzu and his kind were the original gods during pre-deluge time, and they seem to reflect the Atlantean Period, which the race of Anu is associated with. They also appear different in appearance than the Elder Gods, as was mentioned in the Myth of Ereshkigal.  The Myth concerning Ereshkigal is what is sketchy as far as the moral, of what is to follow. In some myths she is said to have decided to go to the realms of Kur. In other myths she is stolen by Kur and brought to the Underworld. Enki later tried to rescue his sister. This is why Enki struck the god Absu, or it may have been due to jealousy. yet most of the more ancient myths imply that Ereshkigal left on her own free will. It seems that after the main part of Kur was struck, or Absu laid to waste, the Watchers, battled alongside Kingu, but these were also put into subjection to the Elder Ones. This would explain why the Anzu birds were often deceptive because they were the original gods now being subjected to the Elder Gods. Similiar to how Marduk was made the head of the Babylonian Pantheon, we find that the Elder Gods falsely claimed to be the progenitors of the Race of Watchers when indeed the reverse is true. One example of this, is the case of Ishtar and the Huluppu Tree. This account it becomes quite obvious that the Oldest Pantheon was that of the Zu. We find the Huluppu Tree is occupied by Lilith (Lamashtu), an Anzu Bird,  and some serpents. Legend has it that with the the aid of Gilgamesh, Ishtar was able to set up her throne and Lilith, the Anzu Bird, and serpent fled into the wilderness. Lilith is an arch-type of Lamashtu. this shows us that these rites existed before the advent of the solar gods, which Gilgamesh presence in the myth would indicate. This would also explain why the BANDAR symbol in the Simon Necronomicon is to never be used alone, since it is representative of an oppressed class of spirits by the Elder Gods.

The Zu dwell in the deeper realms called Nar Marratu It should also be noted that they are different in nature than the Elder Gods, yet these deities are the Race of Watchers. We will go further in-depth in our next article.

THE ANCIENT ART OF GATEWALKING PART 6: RISKS OF SELF-INITIATION

Now that we have discussed the historical meaning of the GateWalking Process and its authenticity, let us now look at some of the risks involved in undergoing initiation. The Mad Arab makes the following statements that are found in the Simon Necronomicon on pages 48 through 49:

“And against the Ancient Ones, there is only defense. Only a madman, indeed, such as I

am called!, can hope to have power over Them that dwell in the Outer Spaces, for their

power is unknown, and the number of the hordes uncounted, and each day they breed

more horrors than a man’s mind can conceive, the sight of which he can hardly bear.

There was a time when the Gate to the Outside was open too long and I witnessed the

horror that struck, of which words cannot speak, and of which writing can only confuse.

The Ancient One that had escaped into the Inner World was forced back through the Gate

by a magician of great power, but only at a great loss to the villages and flocks of the

Island. Many sheep were slain after an unnatural fashion, and many devoured, an many

Bedou rendered senseless; for the mind perceives what it is shown, but the sight of the

Ancient Ones is a blasphemy to the ordinary senses of a man, for that come from a world

that is not straight, but crooked, and their existence is of forms unnatural and painful to

the eye and to the mind, whereby the spirit is threatened and wrenches loose from the

body in flight. And for that reason, the fearful utukku xul take possession of the body and

dwell therein until the Priest banish them back to whence they came, and the normal

spirit may return to its erstwhile neighbourhood.

And there are all the ALLU, frightening dog-faced demons that are the Messengers of the

Gods of Prey, and that chew on the very bones of man. And there are many another, of

which this is not the rightful place wherein they may be mentioned, save to warn the

Priest against the ambitious striving against the Ancient Ones of the Outside, until

mastery is acquired over the powers that reside Within. Only when ADAR has been

obtained, may the Priest consider himself a master of the planes of the Spheres, and able

to wrestle with the Old Gods. Once Death Herself has been stared in the Eye, can the

Priest then summon and control the denizens of Death’s darkly curtained halls. Then can

he hope to open the Gate without fear and without that loathing of the spirit that slays the

man.

Then cane he hope to have power over the demons that plague the mind and the body,

pulling at the hair and grasping at the hands, and the screaming vile Names into the airs

of the Night.

For what comes on the Wind can only be slain by he who knows the Wind; and what

comes on the seas can only be slain by he who knows the Waters. This is it written, in the

Ancient Covenant.”

Not only does the Mad Arab so colorfully illustrate many of the pitfalls that may come during the process of initiation, but he also mentions what is required to Master the negative influences that plaque the mind. The Mad Arab mentions that once the Initiate has reached ADAR, he/she, can ward off the negative attacks upon the mind. The mind is often described in the Simon Necronomicon as villages and towns, or neighborhoods. This is evident from what the Mad Arab states, as found in the above quote:

“There was a time when the Gate to the Outside was open too long and I witnessed the

horror that struck, of which words cannot speak, and of which writing can only confuse.

The Ancient One that had escaped into the Inner World was forced back through the Gate

by a magician of great power, but only at a great loss to the villages and flocks of the

Island….And for that reason, the fearful utukku xul take possession of the body and

dwell therein until the Priest banish them back to whence they came, and the normal

spirit may return to its erstwhile neighbourhood”

In our previous discussions we defined the term ‘invocation’ as a reference to the powers, which take possession of the Initiate and while these forces are useful to the candidate, they can become negative over time if they are not  ‘forced back’ to their proper place. The Gate to the Outside that the Mad Arab speaks about, are the seven initiatory Gates. We can confirm this on page 11 of the Simon Necronomicon:

“These are the signs carved upon the grey stone, that was the Gate to the Outside:

We can see in the above quote that the ‘Gate to the Outside’ is indeed the walk through the Mountains of MASSHU. So when the Mad Arab warns us against leaving the ‘Gate to the Outside’ open too long, this is a reference to staying in one of the seven initiatory gates too long. Until one has walked the seven agates, it is best advised that the Initiate remain in a Gate for no longer than sixty days, or two lunar cycles, for it is the number of ANU, and a ‘most perfect’ number, as stated on page 46 of the Simon Necronomicon. This was also the manner, in which I entered the Gates. I would usually remain in a Gate for one lunar cycle, and then proceed to the next. This advice is also given to us on page 46 of the Simon Necronomicon:

“Second, on the Night of the Walking, which must be the thirteenth night of the moon, having begun on the previous thirteenth night, thou must approach the Gate with awe and respect. Thy Temple is exorcised. Thou must light the Fire and conjure it, by the invocation of the God of Fire, and pour incense thereon. Thou must make offering to the Deities on the altar’

There were some Gates that were a little more difficult for me to master, so I remained in them for two lunar cycles.  Mastering the Gates is a lifetime process. However, on our path of initiation our purpose is to have intercourse with these energies and allow them to transform our consciousness. Each Gate represents a particular aspect of life and when we entered the Gate we are tried with ordeals pertaining to that aspect. These ordeals cannot really be calculated as to what they will be. The Mad Arab mentions that the power of those that come from the ‘Outside’ is unknown. He later adds that their world is ‘crooked.’ This is an indication that the Initiate will have to face their own fears in a way that is sometimes not logical. The key is to be of sound mind and to express a humble attitude in all our undertakings. Make no mistake about it all the deities mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon are the Ancient Ones. The struggle between the Elder Gods and the Ancient Ones is the war that the mind rages. The text provides a safety-net, by categorizing these energies as positive and negative, which makes it useful for purposes of studying certain areas of the text. When we are able to convert the negative energies that we are tried upon in the Gates into positive useful forces, then we have “mastered” that Gate. The Mad Arab uses the term utukku on several occasions within the text, mostly with a negative connotation. However, notice what definition is given to us by Wikipedia:

In Sumerian mythology, the utukku were a type of spirit or demon that could be either benevolent or evil.”

The rate at which energy is positive or negative, in respects to occult science, is all based upon how it is received by the mind. The Ancient Ones become Elder Gods when we pass through the ordeals that we are confronted with. When we surrender part of our fixed views that are so deeply engrained in us, we can then explore the root of what has made us so callous over the years. This is why we are given the Seals to use in our GateWalking workings, as they represent the false ego, which was created in the phenomenal world.

A seal is a sign of an entity that is used in magickal workings. We are given seven seals for the seven initiatory Gates in the Simon Necronomicon. It speaks about this in the MAGAN Text on page 166:

But Man possesses the Sign
And the Number
And the Shape
To summon the Blood of his Parents.”

The Sign is the Seal of the Gate. The Number is the number of the Gate, and the Shape is the illustration of the Gate itself. Pages 20 to 33 of the Simon Necronomicon, gives us the depiction as to how the Seals are to be drawn. If you can afford to engrave the seal on its metal, then feel free to do so. If you cannot afford to purchase the metals upon which the Seals are to be engraved, you can re-draw them on a clean sheet of white paper, but another correspondence of the planet should be used, such as, incense, a colored candle, and etc. Personally, I could not afford to get many of the Seals engraved upon there metals, so I would usually look up the corresponding incense, to the Gate given. Here are the SEALS of the Gates

“The God of the Moon is the God NANNA. He is Father of the Zonei, and the Eldest of the Wanderers. He is long of beard, and bears a wand of lapis lazuli in his palm, and possesses the secret of the tides of blood. His colour is Silver. His Essence is to be found in Silver, and in camphor, and in those things bearing the sign of the Moon. He is sometimes called SIN. His Gate is the first you will pass in the rituals that follow. His Step on the Ladder of Lights is also Silver.

This is his Seal, which you must engrave on his metal, on the thirteenth day of the Moon in which you are working, having no other person about you who may watch you in its manufacture. Being finished, it should be wrapped in a square of the finest silk and lain aside until such time as you desire its use, and then, it should be removed only after the Sun has gone to its rest. No ray of sunlight should strike the Seal, lest its power be rendered nil and a new Seal must needs be cast.

The Number of NANNA is Thirty and this is his Seal

The crescent moon sits within the middle of the seal with the eight-pointed star above, is used to depict NANNA as being ‘Father of the Gods.” It also is a way of illustrating that the Initiate is entering the vagina of the cosmos, as the crescent moon also was symbolic of the two lips of the vulva.  The lower script that appears towards the bottom of the Seal represents that the Kundalini is stimulated. Since his color is silver you may wish to burn a silver candle when working with Walking the NANNA Gate. If you are not able to engrave the Seal upon its metal. You can also use the following incense, Bay leaf, ginseng, jasmine, myrtle, poppy, rosemary, lily.

The God of Mercury is NEBO. He is a very old spirit, having a long beard, and is the guardian of the Gods, as well as the keeper of the knowledge of Science. He wears a crown of one hundred horns, and the long robe of the Priest. His colour is blue. His Essence is in that metal known as Quicksilver, and is sometimes also found in sand, and in those things bearing the sign of Mercury. His Gate is the Second you will pass in the rituals that follow. His Step on the Ladder of Lights is blue.

This is his Seal, which you must write on perfect parchment, or no the broad leaf of a palm tree, having no other person about you who may watch you in its construction. Being finished, it should be wrapped in a square of the finest silk and lain aside until such time as you desire its use, and then, it should be removed only when its light is in the sky. Such is also the best time for its manufacture.

The Number of NEBO is Twelve and this is his Seal:

The top left emblem is a symbol of scientific endeavors, which is a trait of NEBO.  The coil that appears on the second line is actually a snake, a longtime symbol of the HEALING ARTS. The three small spaces next to that represent NEBO as messenger of the three Great Watchers, ANU, ENLIL, and ENKI. This is further reinforced by the Elder Sign that sits in the middle of the seal. If you are not able to engrave this seal upon its metal, then you can make use of a blue candle, or storax, mace, sandalwood incense.

The Goddess of Venus is the most excellent Queen INANNA, called of the Babylonians ISHTAR. She is the Goddess of Passion, both of Love and of War, depending upon her sign and the time of her appearance in the heavens. She appears as a most beautiful Lady, in the company of lions, and partakes of a subtle astral nature with the Moon God NANNA. When they are in agreement, that is, when their two plants are auspiciously arranged in the heavens, it is as two offering-cups split freely in the heavens, to rain the sweet wine of the Gods upon the earth. And then there is great happiness and rejoicing. She sometimes appears in armour, and is thereby a most excellent guardian against the machinations of her sister, the dread Queen ERESHKIGAL of KUR. With the Name and Number of INANNA, no Priest need fear to walk into the very depths of the Underworld; for being armed, in Her armour, he is similar to the Goddess. It was thus that I descended into the foul pits that lie gaping beneath the crust of the earth, and commanded demons.

She is similarly the Goddess of Love, and bestows a favourable bride upon any man who desires it, and who makes the proper sacrifice.

BUT KNOW THAT INANNA TAKES HER OWN FOR HER OWN, AND THAT ONCE CHOSEN BY HER NO MAN MAY TAKE ANOTHER BRIDE.

Her colour is the purest White. Her manifestation is in the metal Copper, and also in the most beautiful flowers of a field, and in the saddest death of the battlefield, which is that field’s fairest flower. Her Gate is the Third you will pass in the rites that follow, and in which place you will be of a heart to stay; but turn you face to the road that leads beyond, for that is your genuine goal, unless the Goddess choses you. Her Step on the Ladder of Lights, built of old in Babylon and at UR, is White.

This is her Seal, which you must engrave on Copper, Venus being exalted in the Heavens, with no one about watching its construction. Being finished, it is to be wrapped in the purest silk and lain safely away, only to be removed when need arises, at any time.

The Number of INANNA is Fifteen, by which Number she is frequently known in the incantations of the Dispensation, her Seal is the following.

If you are not able to engrave the seal upon its metal, than use a white or pink candle. Also benzoin, jasmine, rose, vanilla incense aromas can be used. The eight-pointed star to the right of the Seal represents the phallic powers being guided by either the Sword of the Watcher or the Copper Dagger. The symbol to the very bottom of the seal represents INNANA’S power as a fertility Goddess and the opening up of the Initiate’s consciousness. The glyph to the far right of the seal represents war, lust, vengeance. The glyph at the very top of the Seal represents the inverse of all the attributes described herein. The seal is an “x” within a square representing the crossroads of the journey.

This God of the Sun is the Lord SHAMMASH, son of NANNA. He is seated upon a throne of gold, wearing a crown of two horns, holding a sceptre aloft in his right hand and a flame disk in his life, sending rays in every direction. He is the God of Light and of life. His colour is Gold. His Essence is to be found in gold, and in all golden objects and plants. He is sometimes called UDUU. His Gate is the Fourth you will pass in the rituals that follow. His Step on the great Ladder of Lights is Gold.

This is his Seal, which you must engrave in gold, when the Sun is exalted in the heavens, alone on a mountain top or some such place close to the Rays, but alone. Being finished, it should be wrapped in a square of the finest silk and lain aside until such time as it is needed.

The Number of SHAMMASH is Twenty and this is his Seal:

If you are not able to engrave the Seal of SHAMMASH upon his metal, which is gold, then you can use a few other correspondences that relate to the Sun’s energy. You can use a yellow or orange candle.  It is also advised that you burn the following incense during your Walking. cloves, cinnamon, frankincense, laurel, myrrh. I would also like to note that you can make use of crystals as well throughout the Sea of Spheres. The ‘crippled’ eight-pointed star that is in the center of the Seal represents the Sun’s passage through the world of the dead, like a withered flower. The three glyphs above the eight-pointed star, represent the Sun’s aspect when it is in the world of the ‘living’ namely, the Rising Sun, the Sun in Mid-heaven (noon), and the Setting Sun.

The God of Mars is the mighty NERGAL.

He has the head of a man on the body of a lion, and bears a sword and a flail. He is the God of War, and of the fortunes of War. He was sometimes though to be an agent of the Ancient Ones, for he dwelt in CUTHA for a time. His colour is dark red. His essence is to be found in Iron, and in all weapons made to spill the blood of men and of animals. His Gate is the Fifth you will see as you pass the Zones in the rituals that follow. His Step on the Ladder of Light is Red.

This is his Seal, which must be engraved on a plate of Iron, or on paper in blood, when Mars is in exaltation in the heavens. It is best done at night, far from the habitations of men and of animals, where you cannot be seen or heard. It must be wrapped first in heavy cloth, then in fine silk, and hid safe away until such times as it is needed. But to take not to use this Seal hastily, for it is a sharp Sword.

The Number of NERGAL is Eight and this is his Seal:

If you are not able to engrave this Seal upon its metal, which is iron, then burn a red candle during the Walking. You can also burn Tobacco Incense, as another correspondence. The glyph to the far left represents the fiery region that NERGAL rules. The glyph that sits in the on top of the Seal represents the will. The glyph to the far right represents the skillful use of weapons. The glyph at the very bottom of the Seal represents the defensive skills of the warrior.

The God of Jupiter is the Lord of Magicians, MARDUK KURIOS of the Double-headed Axe. MARDUK was born of our Father, ENKI, to do battle against the forces of the Ancient Ones, and he won a powerful fight, subduing the armies of Evil and putting the Queen of the Ancient Ones beneath his foot. That Serpent is dead, but dreams. MARDUK was bestowed Fifty Names and Powers by the Council of the Elder Gods, which Powers he retains to this day. His colour is Purple. His Essence is in the material tin, and in brass. His Gate is the Sixth that you will come upon as you follow the rituals that follow. His Step on the Ladder of Lights in Purple.

This is his Seal, which you must engrave on a plate of tin or of brass, when Jupiter is strong in the heavens, while making special invocation to ENKI Our Master. This shall be wrought as the others, and wrapped in pure silk and lain away until the time for its use. Know that MARDUK appears as a mighty warrior with a long beard and a flaming disk in his hands. He carries a bow and a quiver of arrows, and treads about the heavens keeping the Watch. Take care to summon his assistance in only the most terrible of circumstances, for his might is powerful and his anger fierce. When thou hast need of the power of the star Jupiter, call instead one of the appropriate Powers listed within these pages, and they will surely come.

The Number of Marduk is Ten and this is his Seal:

If you are not able to engrave the Seal of MARDUK upon his metal, which is brass, then you can burn a purple candle. You can also burn the following incense; Cedar, nutmeg, cloves, myrrh. The glyph in the center of the Seal represents the inverse energies of PAZUZU, or shows that one has gained power in the land of the Zonei, but not in the Abyss. The glyph of the BANDAR, which is located in the box to the right of the inverted PAZUZU sign, represents the maturity of the Watcher. It is at this point that we find that the Watcher ‘appears holding a ‘Sword of Flames.’ The eight-pointed star appears to the left of the Seal showing us that the when the yang current is on high, or to the right, the yin aspect, which is Ishtar, is in the Abyss. PAZUZU is the shadow side of ENKI.

The God of Saturn is NINIB called ADAR, the Lord of Hunters and of Strength. He appears with a crown of horns and a long sword, wearing a lion’s skin. he is the final Zonei before the terrible IGIGI. His colour is the darkest black. His Essence is to be found in lead, in the burnt embers of the fire, and in things of death and of antiquity. The horns of a stag are his symbol. His Gate is the Last you will come upon in the rites that follow. His Step on the Ladder of Lights is Black.

This is his Seal, which you must engrave on a leaden plate or bowl, keeping it well hidden from the eyes of the profane. It should be wrapped and put away as all the others, until its use is desired. It should never be removed when the Sun is in the sky, but only after the night has fallen and the earth grown black, for NINIB knows the best the ways of the demons that prowl among the shadows, looking for sacrifice. he knows best the territories of the Ancient Ones, the practices of their worshippers, and the locations of the Gates. His realm is the realm of the Night of Time.

His Number is Four, as the quarters of the Earth, and the following is his Seal:

If you are not able to engrave the Seal of NINIB upon his metal, which is lead, then you should use a black candle during the Walking. You can also use as a correspondence one of the following incense flavors: myrrh, civet, ironwood. The two glyphs in the center of the Seal represent FIRIK and PIRIK. The “N” on the bottom left corner of the Seal, is actually a Roman numeral that represents zero, or death. (In general, the number zero did not have its own Roman numeral, but a primitive form (nulla) was known by medieval computists (responsible for calculating the date of Easter). They included zero (via the Latin word nulla meaning “none”) as one of nineteen epacts, or the age of the moon on March 22. The first three epacts were nullae, xi, and xxii (written in minuscule or lower case). The first known computist to use zero was Dionysius Exiguus in 525. Only one instance of a Roman numeral for zero is known. About 725, Bede or one of his colleagues used the letter N, the initial of nullae, in a table of epacts, all written in Roman numerals) The Glyph to the top left represents an “M” that is turned 90 degrees counter-clockwise or to the left, meaning Left-Hand Path. The letter “M” equals 1,000 in the system of Roman numerals. It is placed in the Seal to represent 1,000 spirits of which are useful. These are the majority of the 1,001 spirits that the Mad Arab stats are useful, in the Book of Calling. The inverted “V” at the bottom right of the Seal represents the dual nature of the ARRA. Since the ARRA also represented the planet Venus, it is a sign that ISHTAR has risen, or the yin current within us.

The ‘Sleep of ISHTAR’ gives us an account on what ISHTAR had to give up at every Gate. We give up the same things upon our descent from the Earth (KI) until we reach ADAR. This allows us to see our machine and to realize the flaws in our own mechanicalness. There are many ordeals that we face when we are along this path. The Mad Arab gives us many warnings throughout the Simon Necronomicon. He mentions on page 49 the following:

And for that reason, the fearful utukku xul take possession of the body and dwell therein until the Priest banish them back to whence they came, and the normal spirit may return to its erstwhile neighbourhood.”

The above quote speaks to us about possession, which will occur during the initiatory steps of GateWalking. If we remember in our previous articles, we spoke of how the Simon Necronomicon is a work that mostly employs the use of INVOCATION. This is a term that we define as an entity taking possession of the Initiate. It is through this intercourse with Qliphotic forces that we are transformed. However, if we allow these forces to remain within us, they will incur destruction of some useful aspects of our psyche. This is why the prevalent myth that many New Age doctrines purport is actually more dangerous than fulfilling. One doctrine in particular that can put the Initiate at risk, is the assumption that the precautions of the rituals given in the Simon Necronomicon are unnecessary and that we can control our destiny based on the power of the mind. Ideas like these can cause the Initiate a great deal of misfortune when adopted into the practices of the Simon Necronomicon or any form of occult arts.

First of all, many people who promote these ideas lack mental discipline and their lives are filled with problems. Famous Occultist George Ivanovich Gurdjieff said that the power of changing ourselves does not lie in the mind. Although only the mind cares about the future, only the body and feelings can ‘do.’  But even if a person desires with his mind, it will not him: his desires must be in his emotions. Our minds are not our true selves, but a beautiful instrument that the self uses when the true self has matured. Usually, statements like this are made by individuals who are just too lazy to do the work involved, or they cannot comprehend the knowledge that has been given them, so instead of admitting their own ignorance due to their own laziness, their pride comes to the fore and they propagate the idiotic teachings that what is intuitive is all in the mind.

The second pitfall for the Initiate could be a lack of sincere effort to work on ourselves using the Occult Arts. Many people enter the world of Occult Studies under the premise that some form of magic is going to fix all their problems or they are going to gain some immense power and do all these supernatural tricks. Richard Laurence, translator of the 1821 edition of the Book of Enoch writes in the Apocrypha:

This kind of easy death, or euthanasia, has an esoteric meaning. It symbolizes the death of any adept who has reached the power and degree, as also the purification, which enable him to die only in the physical body and still live and lead a conscious life in his astral body. The variations on this theme are endless, but the meaning is ever the same.”

The goal of the Occult Sciences is to complete the incomplete creation- Man. It is though this completion that we are able to live on as an immortal being. The journey of purification awakens our clairvoyant powers, but these powers are not to be adorned within themselves, for they are only part of the path, and many have never reached their goals due to their intoxication with just being able to do on a minor level. Thus, the Initiate can never achieve true enlightenment and awareness, as long as he/she is on the path of power, though they may be able to do many amazing things. They fate is the same as Narcissus and they become a beautiful flower that will only last for a season.

OPEN LETTER TO OUR READERS #1

Greetings!

I would like to thank all of our readers who have supported the NECRONOMICON GATEWALKER’S INFO PAGE. It has been a pleasure sharing some of the information concerning the deeper aspects of the Simon Necronomicon Tradition with you.

I began writing this page as a resource for those individuals who are engaged in the workings of the Simon Necronomicon. Over the past few months I even had the pleasure of participating in a debate with author/writer Dan Harms, and I extend my thanks to him and his staff for sharing with us some of the many insights from the Lovecraft Necronomicon Tradition.

Recently, I have noticed a growing fascination among new occultist with the Simon Necronomicon, which I am very happy to see. Along with this renewed interest in the Necronomicon, I am also seeing a wide range of discontent by those who may have tried to work with the grimoire and were unsuccessful, or those who have not taken the time to research the material, so I decided that I would list a few quick notes for the newcomer who would like to gain the most out of their experience with the Simon Necronomicon.

First, I would like to note that the Simon Necronomicon is not an instruction manual for Chaos Magic. I believe that it is due to pure laziness that someone would come up with an idea such as this. Every magical textbook or grimoire should be research thoroughly and not to be read on face value. In order for the novice to get the most out of any information, he/she,  has to measure it up against the template, in which the grimoire claims to get its power from. For example, Christians use the Bible as a measuring stick when reading any information that is said to be inspired by the Christian Mythos. Jews use the Torah and Muslims use the Qur’an. The Simon Necronomicon tradition and writings should also be analyzed under the same measuring stick, and the template to use is the very same source, in which the book claims to gain its power from- Ancient Mesopotamia.

I have seen people fall under the path of illusion by assuming that the information in the Simon Necronomicon is just made up randomly. This theory presents a few problems. First, it gives the idea that anybody can write a grimoire, which is completely idiotic.

I have seen so many miscalculations by those inexperienced ones rambling in the so-called ‘wisdom.’ I have also seen the words that people use in their Google searches to find my page, yet these inexperienced ones fail to understand that true initiation is a learning process, and also the greatest teacher. All one has to do is learn about the culture and religion of Ancient Mesopotamia, but more importantly develop a relationship with the Deities, or energies that the Chaldeans worked with. This is where things begin to move from an aspect of logic to knowing. I am sure that our relationships with our loved ones are indeed logical in some ways, but their uniqueness comes from that which is not logical, and what I am speaking about is not a visit to some fantasy land or what have you. Yet it is the same with the energies that work behind the Simon Necronomicon. When we build a relationship with these ‘deities’ they will teach us things far beyond what a Google search can. It is just like our relationship with our parents. We use logic to validate and magic to open up communication with our spiritual guides.

The second mistake that I have seen amongst these inexperienced ones, is assuming that the magical path is the path to power. Anyone who claims that you can gain something through occultism is looking to use you as some sort of pawn. The purpose of Occult Studies is to discover how to work with the hidden natural laws of science. If you think that inventing a light bulb is power then more power to you. This path is also for those who are born Nephilim. The Nephilimic Tradition is one that I will write about in the future though it has existed for thousands of years and this tradition is what keeps the veil between those who understand the Simon Necronomicon and those who don’t

I am happy to announce that we have recently updated our page and corrected some of the errors in the text. Please feel free to comment on our new look and on some of the information that is featured in our blogs. For those of you who wish to comment privately, for suggestions, I can be emailed at warlockasylum@gmail.com

OPEN LETTER TO DAN HARMS PART 9: THE HOAX THAT WAS NEVER CREATED!!

Dan Harms and John Gonce III have made quite a name for themselves by stating that the Simon Necronomicon is a hoax. The sad thing about it, is that behind all their writing and references to the copyright office and etc, they have not proved anything. I would like to work with Harms maybe on reconstructing the Sumerian Tradition, but I am not aware of Mister Harms’ position as far as the goal of his work.

I doubt that this post will end the ongoing debate between Harms and Myself. Yet it is entitled ‘concluding statements’ because I am sure that Mister Harms will need some time to review certain points and absorb the information provided herein.

I find it very fascinating how workers of the Simon Necronomicon will verify the writings of Simon and separate the ‘wheat from the chaff.’ Yet followers of Lovecraft never validate anything that he says. It seems like they are under some sort of blind-faith, like born-again Christians. Lovecraft was a great writer, but he also had his own issues. I could understand Harms and Gonce’s argument, if they were to examine Lovecraft under the same scope as they have Simon. They have never stated their moral ideals as to why they initiated an Inquisition against the Simon Necronomicon. It seems like after reading some of the material that Harms and Gonce have made available across the internet, one could only assume that they have a personal gripe against Simon or some organization that he represents. However, let us look at some of the things that Harms and Gonce overlooked, which made their case of trying to disprove the Simon Necronomicon, an invalid one. Looking  into the Life of Mister Lovecraft we may find some answers as to the Necronomicon’s authenticity.

I find it amazing that it has never occurred to Harms and Gonce why Lovecraft said that the Necronomicon was invented by his imagination. Lovecraft was born on August 20th, 1890 in Providence, Rhode Island.. H.P. Lovecraft was reared in an area that had a history of taking action against individuals who practiced witchcraft. You might enjoy the following link:

http://www.researchlibrary.net/witchcraft.htm

I find it interesting as well that Wikipedia states that Lovecraft’s mother (who had the responsibility of raising him up after his father had died) was able to trace her ancestry back to Massachusetts Bay Colony. This was the same area that the famous Salem Witch trials occurred. I wonder how that escaped the notice of Mister Harms. Another point that should be noted is that because of the persecution against Witchcraft, which has
occurred over the past four centuries, many occultists would convey certain occult teachings through fiction to avoid persecution. So the statement that the Necronomicon is fiction, may not actually mean that it was not real. An example of this can even be seen in comic book lore.

Some people are aware that comic-book Superheroes are stories that eventually are derived from the accounts of the Watchers relationships with humans. These stories also represent the practices of Witches and Warlocks who would often hide their magical identity, and would live their day-to-day life as a materialist. If you have ever notice that most comic-book lure takes place during the full moon. Most of these ‘heroes’ are scientist, which is what in essence witches are. Their alter egos referred to their ability to astral project and effect day-to-day reality. For example, Batman is completely Vamparic in nature. I f one were to compare the life of Bruce Wayne with Count Dracula, you can find so many similarities. Batman is often referred to as the Dark Knight. Knight means one who serves a lord, or servant. In this case, the ‘dark knight’ would refer to one who is a servant of the ‘dark lord.’ The ‘dark lord’ would refer to the feminine, or yin aspect of divinity, as in the Mother Goddess Tiamat. This would then mean that the dark knight could be identified as the king in the ancient rituals of Mother-Son worship. This is even further affirmed by the fact that Batman is often times accompanied with Robin. A robin is a symbol of new beginnings, and sometimes associated with the Oak Moon, which corresponds to Hecate. Thus, Batman can be perceived as the ‘dark lord’, but the association of Batman with Robin symbolizes the beginning of spring, the arisen Dumuzi. This example shows us just how deep a work of fiction can indeed relate to an occult teaching..

If Mister Dan Harms would have addressed the writings of Lovecraft with the same skepticism, he would not have to face the embarrassment of what I am about to say. Now he has to explain his reasons for believing in Lovecraft without question. Mister Dan Harms has often asserted that the term ‘Necronomicon’ was invented by H. P. Lovecraft. This is far from the truth. Why didn’t Gonce and Harms look into Lovecraft’s works with the same critique that they approached the Simon Necronmicon?!!  If they were to just research the history of Lovecraft they might have discovered that, the word ‘necronomicon’ was a conjoined term.

We have evidence of this as the term ‘nomicon’ appears almost forty years before the birth of Lovecraft in the work entitled, History of the Jewish Nation After the Destruction of Jerusalem Under Titus By Alfred Edersheim, in the year 1856. Eldersheim recounts through his essay many facets of Jewish history. On page 263 it states:

“Simon had made a collection of traditional ordinances, which however has been lost; that composed by Joses was specially reputed  for its scientific arrangement. It bore the Greek title of “Nomicon,” Legal Code, as in general many Latin and Greek terms had crept into the language and writings of the Jews.”

It is interesting that the term ‘nomicon’ was a common term in Jewish culture decades ago, meaning a legal code, or codes for socialization. Since Lovecraft had displayed anti-Semitic views openly, as I discussed in some of my previous letters to Dan Harms, it stands to reason that Lovecraft’s use of the term ‘necro’ in front of the term ‘nomicon.’ may have actually been an anti-Semitic joke of describing Jewish ordinances as dead customs. However, we must also keep in mind that there is also ‘The Nomicon of Photius, in Title VIII, says that bishops must not undertake cares and become trustees, even of their own relatives, according to cc. XIII, XIV, XV of Title I of Bk. III of the Basiliar, except only in case that trusteeship is for the purpose of distributing alms or charitable gifts in behalf of their deceased relative, according to Novel 68 of Leo the Wise. Read also the above concordant Canons, prohibiting clergymen from worldly cares. ‘ More information can be found at this link:

What I find even more amazing is Mister Dan Harms’ denial of Crowley’s involvement in the Simon Necronomicon. I mentioned before that Crowley’s name appears 39 times in the Introduction. This is the same amount of times that the Hebrew word for ‘Messiah’ appears in the Old Testament. Another indication of this is the fact that Lovecraft uses so many Greek references to describe a book of Arabic origin. Maybe this is due to his fellowship with persons involved in the occult arts, or the development of the Greek philosophy of Thelema. Why is it that when the doctrine of Thelema is gaining wider acceptance among the occult world, Lovecraft is able to provide a fictional story using Greek terms, which is almost identical to how Crowley received the Book of the Law?  I am sure that Mister Harms, Dan Clore, Gonce, and all the rest of these online writers, who are a part of some Lovecraft Church, fail to recognize Thelema as one of Lovecraft’s influences. If people wonder today what it would have been like if Crowley met Lovecraft, then it must have been some talk of it then. It must have sparked Lovecraft to look into the writings of Crowley and Crowley to look into the stories of Lovecraft. It is no mystery that Lovecraft had friends from various walks of life, occultists being among that crowd. So how is it that Lovecraft is able to receive messages for his ‘fictional’ stories in dreams and have friendship with individuals with occult backgrounds and never explore these lucid dreams or the occult? It is very entertaining how you can read about Lovecraft being a materialist, and not involved in the occult arts. I find this most entertaining because Satanists describe themselves as materialists, and some Satanists never reveal there association with the Church of Satan publicly. When we begin to look at Lovecraft’s beginnings, we can see that his imagination was fueled by occult theories.

Although Mister Dan Harms tries to make it seem, as if Lovecraft invented the word Necronomicon our research tell us differently. Since the word ‘nomicon’ was already in use, Lovecraft just added the Greek prefix ‘necro’ to enhance the meaning of an already existing word. It should also be noted that Lovecraft first mentions the Necronomicon in “The Hound,” which he wrote in mid-October 1921 only three months after having met his would be wife Sonia Greene. Sonia Greene was a Jewish woman. This being the case, it seems very probable that since the ‘nomicon’ was a set of codes establish for Jewish community, Lovecraft did not invent the word, but took a true term from his wife and gave it another definition by adding the prefix ‘necro.’ This establishes that some of Lovecraft’s ideas were indeed borrowed from his wife. Some critics, who do not possess the information on the term ‘nomicon’ have erroneously concluded that since Lovecraft first mentions Abdul Alhazred, the author of the Necronomicon, in “The Nameless City” (which he wrote in January 1921) a full six months before having met Greene, that he already had ideas for the story, but this doesn’t prove that he came up with the term Necronomicon then.

Another error that Harms has made in trying to disprove the Simon Necronomicon, is his critique of Dead Names. Has it ever occurred to Mister Dan Harms that the rare book heist and some the suicides that are described in Dead Names actually occurred? Now let us think for a second. What type of person would take true life tragedy and incorporate it into a story just to make a point? If Simon’s account was not true in Dead Names, why hasn’t the families of the victims sued Simon of making fiction out of a real tragedy? Also the life Simon leads is one of seclusion, almost like he is a witness-protection program. What individual would want to live a life like that, if the work was not true?

Although the Necronomicon Files provides some useful information, it is also used by Harms and Gonce to attack people and organizations that they have conflict with. On page 118 of the Necronomicon Files, under the subject “BloodSuckers for Cthulhu: The Temple of the Vampire, Harms and Gonce suggest that the Temple’s use of the term ‘Ancient Ones is of Lovecraftian origin. This is complete nonsense since the Temple does not follow Lovecraft.

It seems like Mister Dan Harms has a very strong devotion to Lovecraft, which gives him a warped view of the world. That’s okay. It should be remembered that only one of us can complete their function, and I doubt if Mister Dan Harms will complete his.

OPEN LETTER TO DAN HARMS PART 8: THE NECRONOMICON TRADITION

Greetings! I would like to extend a warm welcome to all who have supported the Necronomicon GateWalkers Page! If this is your first time visiting us here, I suggest that you look at the listing of the articles to the right of this page to begin your journey. Thank you once again for stopping by.

Many of you, who have been following the Page are aware of the ongoing discussions between writer Dan Harms and myself. Dan Harms is the co-author of the magnificent work entitled The Necronomicon Files, which can be purchased here:

http://www.necfiles.org/

Within the pages of the Necronomicon Files, Dan Harms and John Gonce offer some very good information regarding the history of the Necronomicon and insights into understanding many of its terms and origins. Harms also spends quite a bit of time bashing the Simon Necronomicon, yet within his critique of the book, he also gives some good information for the Priest or Priestess of the Simon Necronomicon.. I have spent quite a lot of time researching and working with the Simon Necronomicon over the years, and I find it to be an excellent tool for the work of the Sumerian Reconstruction. There are some errors within the tome, and some of these errors are deliberate coded-references that can open the door to deeper information. Make no mistake about it, the Simon Necronomicon is not for the beginner and to keep the novice from hurting himself, it is put in a certain language, and there are some apparent traps in the book so that the ill-intended are not able to access the book’s power. I strongly suggest that before the initiate begins working with the Simon Necronomicon as a grimoire, that they spend a quite some time researching and studying the culture, history, religion, of Ancient Mesopotamia.

I would like to make it clear that I do not have any personal issues with those who oppose the Simon Necronomicon, and that my discussions with Mister Dan Harms are not intended to attack his character personally, although at times we do poke fun at each other. I enjoy my dialogue with Mister Dan Harms. I feel that it brings out information that may not be accessed if one were to just read a posted commentary about the works of Lovecraft or Simon. Harms is an adept in his tradition and work, just as Warlock Asylum is in his own rite. (speaking in third person) There are times when I learn a few things from my debates with Mister Harms, and I am sure Mister Harms has learned a few thing as well. I will continue to present discussions with Mister Dan Harms throughout the existence of this Blog.  However, I am also extending my hand to Mister Dan Harms as a jester of peace, if he or any in his Coven have taken offense to some of my statements. I will also be putting more emphasis in the area of Sumerian Reconstruction in areas that may exist outside of the Necronomicon studies, but are areas of study in the arena of Ancient Mesopotamia. It has been a pleasure to have such an intense dialogue with Mister Dan Harms. I must admit that he is a hard worker and a great writer! This is not to say that I am changing my perspective. I still find it necessary to maintain the tradition of the GateWalker and aid in providing information for those who are on the path of the Shaetemmu. (GateWalker)

I was inspired in part by a recent comment that was posted in one of my blogs by Davi Stolowitz, he writes:

“I think this debate has gotten ugly. If you guys can’t be respectful of each other, you shouldn’t continue this. Pot shots and character assassination and nit-picking between the lines doesn’t help anybody. The posts get awfully infantile at times.

One of the things that I don’t think gets acknowledged enough by the Nec supporters is that Simon and/or his publishers distorted the nature of the book in the process of trying to market and sell it. WE can see that the book has a lot to offer in terms of personal growth, initiation, and such, but they took full advantage of the book’s dark reputation to sell more copies. I mean, just look at the back cover. Simon markets the book as this horribly dangerous volume full of dark secrets and evil monsters – and even says it was written by “Abdul Alhazred”, which was Lovecraft’s invented name and never featured once in the book. Then he gets pissy when people can’t look past the reputation he helped create to appreciate the book on its own terms and for its own merits…,”

While I have written much in favor of the workings in the Simon Necronomicon, I am not here to defend the author-Simon. I agree in part that the Book of the Black Earth written by Simon didn’t have to be entitled the Necronomicon in order to be taken seriously by the magical community. The energies in the book speaks for itself and I am sure that practicing Magicians who have used the book without it being entitled the Necronomicon would have reported its effects and it would have gained the same ground in sells without the controversy. However, this was not the case, but before the bashers of the Simon Necronomicon, walk away thinking I am trying to score brownie points on the ‘other side of the field’ we should look at some other facts and priciples. First, as has been stated by one of my readers of the Necronomicon Page, that although the nature of the book has a lot to offer it may have been distorted by using the term Necronomicon as a selling gimmick. Yet the same holds true for Lovecraft supporters. Since Lovecraft was the first to put the word Necronomicon out in public view he is considered the authority and creator of this term, but sometimes what’s spelled out on paper is not always the whole story, maybe it’s just the story of the writer. I have a couple of theories about the origin of the book myself, as well as the term Necronomicon, and this is where some of my opposing views in regards to some of Dan Harms essays have come into play. If Harms had took a neutral stand first and proceeded to objectively investigate the history of  Lovecraft before simply accrediting him as the sole source on anything Necronomicon related, I could be a little more in agreement with some of his perspectives. Yet sometimes history is not always consistent with the facts of what’s going on at the time. For example, children are still taught that Columbus discovered America, when in fact there were millions of people living here, so sometimes history and perspective have to be investigated beyond what is written, especially when that perspective is laid in the hands of a few inidiviuals. I find that the history of the Necronomicon is a little fishy whether it is the Lovecraft Tradition or the Simon Tradition. The differences in both traditions may have occurred long before Lovecraft ever mentioned the word.. The funny thing is that although Lovecraft supporters often criticize people working with the Simon Necronomicon as being easily misled, these same supporters of Lovecraft are not objective in their own right. Let us look at a few examples:

In the History of the Necronomicon, as written by Lovecraft, he reveals that Al Azif was written circa 730 A. D. at Damascus by Abdul Alhazred. I find this very interesting since many believe that the name “Damascus’ is originally a derivative of Damkina who was the wife of Enki and also the mother of Marduk. It is also interesting to note that the ancient Babylonians assigned the planet Marduk (Jupiter) the number ten. Al Azif written in 730 A.D. sums up to ten. (7 + 3 + 0 = 10).

Another interesting note in Lovecraft’s History of the Necronomicon, is that the author, Abdul Alhazred, is described as a mad poet of Sanaá, in Yemen.  San‘a’ is one of the ancient Yemeni cities dating back to the Sabaean dynasty of the 6th Century BC. The oldest written reference to its existence is found in inscriptions which date back to the 1st Century AD.

Notice the following link as we discover more about the people of Sanaa’ the Sabeans”

Sabeanism was unquestionably the main religious belief of the ancient Chaldeans and Assyrians, but likewise the very foundation stone of practically all the great religions of all the great peoples of the past. Upon the authority of the Jewish scholar Maimonides, scholars have considered the Sabeans as an ancient race whose principal religion was that of star-worship and closely affiliated with the Babylonians and Syrians. But the Sabeans were not a race, but those who followed and practiced the divine astrological astrolatry of the hoariest antiquity. Mohammed in the Koran mentions a sect between the Jews and Christians called Sabi una — to whom certain privileges were granted; older Moslem theologians were agreed that the Sabeans possessed manuscripts which they regarded in the light of a revelation, and the Mandeans came under the same protection granted to the Sabeans; hence the Mandeans also came to be regarded as Sabeans. Another sect of polytheists, the Harranians (830 AD), also affiliated with the Sabeans and shielded themselves under the same privileges; they were a remnant of a Mesopotamian cult, and star-worship had a prominent place in their system.”

(The previous information can be found at this link: http://www.experiencefestival.com/a/Sabean_Sabaean_Sabian_Sabianism/id/137496 )

What is also interesting to note is that if the Mad Arab war really of Sabean descent, it is a strong possibility that he may have been of African descent as the Sabeans are said to have originated in Ethiopia. The Sabeans in Yemen and Arabia were the extensions of the Sabeans in Ethiopia. South of Arabia was part of the kingdom of Axum. Ancient Ethiopia was wider as to incorporate many different people than under the Sabean hegemony..

What I find fascinating about all of this is that Lovecraft was anti-Semitic., Notice some of the information Wikipedia has to say concerning his views:

A common dramatic device in Lovecraft’s work is to associate virtue, intellect, elevated class position, civilization, and rationality with white Anglo-Saxons, often posing it in contrast to the corrupt, intellectually inferior, uncivilized and irrational, which he associated with people he characterized as being of lower class, impure racial “stock” and/or non European ethnicity and dark skin complexion who were often the villains in his writings.

In “The Call of Cthulhu” he writes of a captured group of mixed race worshipers of Cthulhu:

the prisoners all proved to be men of a very low, mixed-blooded, and mentally aberrant type. Most were seamen, and a sprinkling of negroes and mulattos, largely West Indians or Brava Portuguese from the Cape Verde Islands, gave a colouring of voodooism to the heterogeneous cult. But before many questions were asked it became manifest that something far deeper and older than negro fetishism was involved. Degraded and ignorant as they were, the creatures held with surprising consistency to the central idea of their loathsome faith.

In a letter of January 23, 1920, Lovecraft wrote:

For evolved man — the apex of organic progress on the Earth — what branch of reflection is more fitting than that which occupies only his higher and exclusively human faculties? The primal savage or ape merely looks about his native forest to find a mate; the exalted Aryan should lift his eyes to the worlds of space and consider his relation to infinity!!!!

It is very interesting how fans of Lovecraft could constantly yell that the Simon Necronomicon is a hoax, and never turn the criticism towards Lovecraft’s invention of the Necronomicon. How could someone who held anti-Semitic views be able to capture an accurate description of the ancient world according to the Mad Arab. Did Lovecraft really invent the idea of the Necronomicon? Some have even reported that his anti-Semitic views, is what eventually lead to the divorce from his Jewish wife Sonia Greene.

Another interesting aspect of the History of the Necronomicon, is that the text is said to translated into Greek in 950 A.D. as Necronomicon by Theodorus Philetas. The name Theodorus Philetus roughly translates as ‘God’s gift of brotherly love.’ The concept  of man with  a name that is a Greek aspect of love translating a tome of forbidden deadly lore is an inverted idea of a man who was named the ‘Wickedest Man on Earth receiving the Book of the Law, which states that Love is the Law. Theodorus Philetus translated Al Azif in 950 A. D. Let us look at the sum of this year 9 + 5+ 0 = 14, 1 + 4 = 5.

Now let us look at the year that Aleister Crowley received the Book of the Law. 1904 is   1 + 9 + 4 + 0 = 14. 1 + 4 = 5. It is amazing that these two characters possesses inverted   aspects of each other and both of their revelations came about on the 5. What is interesting, is that the number five is a goddess number, and is particularly associated with the goddess as Venus, the love goddess. The Greek gematrical equivalent to the word Necronomicon, according to Simon.

I find that it is hard to believe that Lovecraft just invented all of this stuff from the depths of his mind without ever having any connection to the occult world. What is even more conflicting is that Lovecraft  is attributed as writing  with so much depth about the adventures of the Mad Arab, and yet he anti-Semitic. No one ever questions where his ideas came from, yet the origin of the Necronomicon remains a mystery in both the Lovecraft Tradition and the Simon Tradition. Most of the rumored information about Lovecraft cannot be validated to date anyway, and to some degree the same holds true for the Simon Necronomicon tradition. Yet both, the practitioners of the Lovecraft Tradition and the Simon Tradition can feel the power in the system.

All of this being said, I would like to extend my hand to Dan Harms and would like to invite him to work on brining these two traditions under an abode of peace, while we may have different opinions and views and we will continue to debate at one time or another, working towards reconstructing the Sumerian path can be of great benefit not only to ourselves but the world. The choice is yours Mister Harms :)
