THE URILLA TEXT PART 2: Ruler of The Underworld

Greetings!

I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone here at the GateWalker’s Page. If this is your first time here, I would suggest that you begin your search by reading some of our previous articles that appear in order, underneath our menu column. Stay Blessed!

Well we covered quite a bit of information in the first part of our discussion concerning the Urilla Text entitled, Opening the Gate of IAK SAKKAKK. We will know continue to explore the mysteries of the Urilla Text.

We were already able to determine that the Rites enlisted in the Simon Necronomicon are workings of the Ancient Ones. Basically, the Elder Gods appear as the ‘good guys’ only for those who are going through the process of initiation. This can easily be determined  by something that is mentioned by the Mad Arab:

“…,he whom secret priests, initiated into the Black Rites, whose names are writ forever in the Book of Chaos, can summon if they but know how…. And this was taught by the priests of Babylon, who charged that these formulae may never be revealed to anyone who is not initiated into our ways, for to do so would be the most frightful error.” (Urilla Text)

The above passage compares greatly with another section in the SN:

“But heed these words well, and remember! For remembering is the most important and most potent magick, being the Rememberance of Things Past and the Rememberance of Things to Come, which is the same Memory. And do not show this text to the uninitiated, for it hath caused madness, in men and in beasts.” (Magan Text)

“Here endeth the Book of the Fifty Names, which the Gods have granted me the strength and the time in which to lay it down. This Book is not to be shown to the unclean or the profane or the uninitiated, for to do so is to call the most awful curse of the Book upon thee and upon thy generations.” (The Book of Fifty Names)

“This is the Book of the Ministers of Knowledge, FIRIK and PIRIK, the Demon of the Snake-Entwined Magick Wand and the
Demon of the Thunderbolt, Protectors of the Arcane Faith, the Most Secret Knowledge, to be hidden from those not of us, from the uninitiated..” (
The Book of Calling)

Interestingly, the term initiated does not appear in any of the section of the Simon Necronomicon. This clearly indicates, when compared to the Book of Calling and the section thereafter, that the Walking of the Gates serves the purpose of initiation only. Think about it. We have seen earlier, form the passages found in the Urilla Text, that the Rites are called the Black Rites. This seems to correspond to the real name of the Simon Necronomicon, as mentioned by the Mad Arab himself:

“For this is the Book of the Dead, the Book of the Black Earth, that I have writ down at the peril of my life,”

Thus, if the Simon Necronomicon is appropriately called the Book of Black Earth, it would only stand to reason that the Rites contained therein are the Black Rites, as mentioned in the Urilla Text. This is where inner wisdom plays its part in our work. The reason why some people have had negative effects while working with the Simon Necronomicon is because they have done so without Walking the gates or bein intiated. The Simon Necronomicon is a closed system. It is not something that you can just pick up and work with like other grimoires.

Now reflecting back upon the Mad Arab’s words we find that the “Earth” corresponds to the direction North and to the Mother Goddess. This would mean that our initiations are indeed a Walk down the isle in the Sacred Marriage Rite, in marriage with the Mother Goddess, Tiamat. We find some other interesting passages to further prove the points that we have discussed.

“Remember the Scorpion Man who dwells in the Mountains. He was of old created by TIAMAT to fight the Elder Gods, but was permitted to stay below the Mountains by Them. But He has deceived us once, and may do so again. But call upon him if there be something concerning the Outside that you would know, that I have not told thee. And his sign is simple, and it is thus:” (The Second Testimony of the Mad Arab)

This is one of the most misunderstood passages in the Simon Necronomicon, but it is one that we have discussed before. In one of our previous articles, we mentioned and we are able to confirm that the Scorpion Man is a hidden aspect of Nergal. More about this can be read here:

http://warlockasylum.wordpress.com/the-bandar-sign-part-1-kutulu/the-bandar-sign-part-3-the-creation-of-the-ancient-one/

Further Nergal corresponds to the Orisha Ogun, who is a representation of Mars in all its aspects. The interesting thing is that the Orisha Ogun, like the Scorpion Man was created directly by Yemaya or Tiamat. This being the case we are to remember that the Scorpion Man guards the entrance to the Mountains of MASSHU, as Nergal is the ruler of the Underworld. Our comparison of Nergal with the Scorpion Man is further confirmed by nergal’s Invocation as it appears in the Simon Necronomicon. Knowing that the Scorpion Man guards the Mountains of MASSHU, and that the ARRA, AGGA, and BANDAR are all symbols of MASSHU, let us now look at one of the attributes given to NERGAL in his invocation as it appears in the Necronomicon:

“Gate of the Lord of the ARRA and the AGGA, Open!”

Here we see that Nergal is described as the Lord of both the ARRA and the AGGA. Let us discuss how Nergal is the Lord of both of these symbols, one at a time.

The Mad Arab gives us the following description of the ARRA:

“Of the three carved symbols, the first is the sign of our Race from beyond the Stars, and is called ARRA in the tongue of the Scribe who taught it to me, an emissary of the Elder Ones. In the tongue of the eldest city of Babylon, it was UR. It is the Sigil of the Covenant of the Elder Gods, and when they see it, they who gave it to us, they will not forget us.”

Here we see that the ARRA represents our Race, or a race from beyond the Stars. This would mean that our Race is a fallen race, or we are a race of Fallen Angels. Amazingliy, when we read the famous myth of Nergal and Ereshkigal, we find that Nergal too is a Fallen Angel. Nergal is also known as ERRA, which is very similar to the term ARRA.. Nergal was sent to the Underworld for punishment because he had disrespected Namtar at the feast that was held amongst the gods. According to cosmic regulations, the gods of heaven cannot descend to the Underworld, nor can chthonic deities ascend to the heavens. Namtar was sent to represent Ereshkigal. Namtar means fate, and at the feast Nergal disrespected Namtar, some accounts relate that Nergal remained seated as the other gods stood up to greet Namtar. Nergal was sent to the Underworld for this act of disrespect and, after having a passionate affair with Ereshkigal, he eventually became the ruler of the Underworld. Is it possible then that Nergal represents the Race of Fallen Watchers who had no respect for “fate” and were sent to the Underworld? Nergal became ruler of the Underworld, while maintaining a passionate affair with Ereshkigal. We are admonished to do the same by the Mad Arab in the Book of Calling:

“Know, fourthly, that it is become the obligation of the Priests of the Flame and the Sword, and of all Magick, to bring their Power to the Underworld and keep it chained thereby, for the Underworld is surely the Gate Forgotten, by which the Ancient Ones ever seek Entrance to the Land of the Living, And the Ministers of ABSU are clearly walking the Earth, riding on the Air, and upon the Earth, and sailing silently through the Water, and roaring in the Fire, and all these Spirits must be brought to subjection to the Person of the Priest of Magick, before any else.”

Notice that the Mad Arab describes the GateWalker as the Priest of the Flame and the Sword. The Flame (or fire) and Sword are attributes to Nergal and these powers must be brought to the Underworld, the realm of Nergal himself. It is also mentioned that the ‘ministers of ABSU’ must be brought into subjection. It is therefore imperative that the GateWalker after his/her initiation works with the Urilla Text! Let us look into the words from the myth Nergal and Ereshkigal to see what became of Nergal:

Nergal came up along the long stairway of heaven.
When he arrived at the gate of Anu, Ellil, and ea,
Anu, Ellil, and Ea saw him and said,
“The son of Ishtar has come back to us,
She (Ereshkigal) will search for him and [ ].
Ea his father must sprinkle him with spring water, and bareheaded,
Blinking and cringing let him sit in the assembly of the gods.”

In the passage above, Nergal is described as a ‘Son of Ishtar’ or consort of Tiamat, as we discussed earlier. Remember the Scorpion Man was a direct creation of Tiamat or a son of Ishtar. Despite Nergal’s wrongful conduct Enki still protected him. This all seem to fet very nicely into the rites of the Simon Necronomicon, as our Fallen Race is described in a personified form as Nergal. Now let us see how Nergal is the Lord of the AGGA.

“The second is the Elder Sign, and is the Key whereby the Powers of the Elder Gods may be summoned, when used with the proper words and shapes. It has a Name, and is called AGGA…Which thou shalt wear at all times, as the sign of the Power of the Magick of ENKI. And I have told thee all this before, but I tell thee again, for the Priest, being furnished with every kind of Armour, and armed, he is similar to the Goddess”

Before we move on further into our discussion, I should make it perfectly clear that we have discussed the ARRA and AGGA signs in previous post here on the blog page. However, it must be understood that these writings were for the uninitiated (Elder Ones) whereas the workings of the initiated (Ancient Ones) is of an entirely different view.

Now let us see why Nergal is also the Lord of the AGGA, or the power of the Elder Gods. It should be noted that when Nergal was sentenced to the Underworld, Enki came to his aid. Notice what appears on the following website:

http://www.gatewaystobabylon.com/religion/nergalereshkigal2000.htm

But the cunning god Ea ..comes to Nergal´s rescue by giving him seven demons, personification of plagues, to accompany him for his defense. With their help, Nergal is able to reach Ereshkigal and he overpowers her and becomes her husband. In the later version, far more elaborate and in some crucial passages very different, Nergal makes two visits to the Netherworld. It is unclear whether on the first visit he is to receive a pardon from the goddess or whether he attempts to defy her. Here too the cunning god Ea/Enki comes to Nergal´s aid. For the first occasion, Ea has him make a throne of chair of many different woods perhaps as a compensatory gift.

Two points should be made here. The first is related to the special wood Nergal´s throne should be made of, which certainly relates to the trees of the Underworld deities which can be also classified as the Lords of the Eternal Return, once They are the Dying and Resurrected gods, such as Damu, Dumuzi, Ninghizida. Furthermore, it should be added that celestial deities such as Nanna/Sin, the moon god, and Utu/Shamash also travel to the Underworld, to return daily to the Heights Above. Secondly and not least important, Stephanie Dalley in Myths from Mesopotamia explains the significance of the throne as an attempt to “ensure that Nergal can escape from the underworld and elude death”,

From the above excerpt we are able to ascertain that the “Throne” is representative of Enki’s power, as Enki is the only God in Mesopotamian Mythology who was able to raise someone from the Underworld . Nergal’s Throne is the Elder Sign, making it easy for Nergal to rise skyward and return to the Underworld. Remember, that in the rites of the Urilla Text, the Priest or Priestess, can raise up the spirit of the dead, and act as Enki. This explain yet another passage from the Mad Arab:

“And who is their Master? Of this I do not know, but I have heard them calling ENKI which is surely a blasphemy, for ENKI is of our Race as it is writ in the Text of MAGAN. But, perhaps, they called Another, whose Name I do not know. But surely it was not ENKI.”

Thus, different than those who are going though initiatory steps of GateWalking and align themselves with Marduk and etc, the initiated see their affinity with Nergal. Nergal’s number is 8 in ancient astral cosmology. This is the only number amongst the Gate deities that cannot divide into 60, the number of Anu. This means that Nergal is indeed an Ancient One, yet he is able to rule and conduct himself with stealth. Nergal is the personigfication of those who are from beyond the stars, or the ARRA. A symbol associate with Ishtar as Nergal was called son of Ishtar in one of the above quotes from an ancient account. In our next discussion, we will speak about the Bowl of Tiamat as promised.

UNDERSTANDING THE FOUR DIRECTIONAL GATES PART 6: ENKI IS THE GREAT KUTULU

Now that we have discussed each of the Four Directional Gates individually, it is important for us to now verify the call of the Directional Gates with the history of Ancient Mesopotamia.

Many of us are familiar with the name Zarathustra. He is popularly known by the Greek translation of his name, which is Zoroaster. Zoroaster means “star worshipper.” The stories of Zarathustra’s Persian pantheon seem to tell the tales what we now call the four Royal Stars of Persia.

The Royal Stars of Persia are so named because roughly 5,000 years ago, during the fabled pyramid age of Egypt, these luminaries held tremendous influence. Endowed with almost archangelic power, these legendary stars of antiquity are Aldebaron, Regulus, Antares and Fomalhaut, and in the epoch of 5,000 years ago they were considered to be guardians of the four corners of heaven and watchers of the directions, forming a heavenly cross near the ecliptic.

Wikipedia gives us the following definition of the Four Royal Stars of Persia:

The four Royal stars or Guardians of the Sky were a group of stars noticed by the Persian astrologers around 3000 BC and used as a rudimentary season calendar.

All four stars are among the brightest 25 stars, having an apparent magnitude of less than 1.5. However, this particular set of stars was chosen because they are divided on the sky by approximately 6 hours apart in right ascension. The reason why they are called “royal” is that they appear to stand aside from the other stars in the sky. Throughout a year, each star is for several months “dominant” on the night sky and one can guess the season just by noticing which star is dominant.

The four stars with their modern and ancient Persian names were:

The above history of the Four Royal Stars of Persia indicates that the Calling of the Four Directional Gates is actually something far more older than the workings of John Dee. Interestingly, each Royal Star also correlates with the “fixed” signs of astrology: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Aldebaron is the alpha star of the constellation of Taurus, Regulus is alpha Leo, Antares is alpha Scorpio, and Fomalhaut is Alpha Piscis Austrinus. The first three correlate with the fixed signs, but Aquarius is missing from the quartet. Fomalhaut is a bright star, shining alone in the fourth arm of the zodiacal fixed cross, and sharing the same celestial longitude, (similar to terrestrial longitude), with Sadalmelik, the alpha star of Aquarius, which is not as major a luminary.

Chaldean astrological findings influenced even the foundation of the Judaic-Christian faith.  In an article entitled, Astrology and the Bible The Bible on the Heavens! by Kelly Lee Phipps, the author makes the following observation:

“The characteristics of the twelve tribes were given both by Jacob in Genesis 49 when he blesses his sons and again in Deuteronomy 33 when Moses blesses the tribes. They correspond to the basic meanings of the twelve signs used today. God ordered Moses to have the twelve tribes camp around the holy tabernacle in the exact order of the zodiac with the entrance to the temple facing east. The four gateways to the camp were Judea, Rueben, Ephraim, and Dan. These four tribes correspond to the exact description in Ezekiel and Revelations of the four living creatures before the throne of God, which were the lion, the bull, the man, and the eagle. These four ancient symbols correspond to our own astrological signs of Leo, Taurus, Aquarius, and Scorpio which contain the four royal stars of Persia, Regulus in Leo, Aldebaran in Taurus, Formalhaut in Aquarius, Antares in Scorpio. God even directs Moses to have the tribes march through the desert starting with Judea (Leo) and going backwards towards the camps of Rueben (Taurus), Ephraim (Aquarius) and Dan (Scorpio). This is the exact motion of the equinoctial precession that gives rise to the flow of the astrological ages, a 26,000-year cycle.”

Correlations based on the Four Royal Stars of Persia are numerous. Notice what is mentioned in Revelation Chapter 4: 1-9:

4:1  After these things I looked and saw a door opened in heaven, and the first voice that I heard, like a trumpet speaking with me, was one saying, “Come up here, and I will show you the things which must happen after this.”

4:2  Immediately I was in the Spirit. Behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting on the throne

4:3  that looked like a jasper stone and a sardius. There was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald to look at.

4:4  Around the throne were twenty-four thrones. On the thrones were twenty-four elders sitting, dressed in white garments, with crowns of gold on their heads.

4:5  Out of the throne proceed lightnings, sounds, and thunders. There were seven lamps of fire burning before his throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

4:6  Before the throne was something like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. In the midst of the throne, and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.

4:7  The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like a man, and the fourth was like a flying eagle.

4:8  The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around about and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!”

4:9  When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever,”

The Simon Necronomicon consists of twelve parts that are ruled by each of the Watchers of the Four Directions.

Aquarius. (Watcher of the North) rules the following sections in the Simon Necronomicon

  1. The Testimony of the Mad Arab
  2. Of the Zonei and their Attributes
  3. The Book of Entrance and of the Walking

Taurus. (Watcher of the East) rules the following section in the Simon Necronomicon:

  1. The Incantations of the Gates
  2. The Conjuration of the Fire God
  3. The Conjuration of the Watcher

Leo. (Watcher of the South) rules the following sections in the Simon Necronomicon:

  1. The Book Maklu of the Burning of Evil Spirits
  2. The Book of Calling
  3. The Book of Fifty Names

Scorpio. (Watcher of the West) rules the following sections of the Simon Necronomicon:

  1. The Magan Text
  2. The Urilia Text
  3. The Testimony of the Mad Arab, (the second part)

It is clearly evident from the discussion above that the Four Royal Stars of Persia, also called the Watchers of Heaven, are indeed from the class of the IGIG. Also we can determine from the influence that the Chaldean astrological findings had on Judaic-Christian beliefs, that the “Lord” of the Israelites also was indeed the “Lord” of the IGIGI, since his throne was surrounded by the Four Living Creatures, as described in the book of Revelation. Now the question arises as to who is this “Lord?”

The Simon Necronomicon mentions the following on page 70:

“The Watcher comes from a Race different from that of Men and yet different from that of the Gods, and it is said that he was with KINGU and his hordes at the time of the War between the Worlds, but was dissatisfied and did cleave unto the Armies of Lord MARDUK.”

It is interesting to note that the Watcher is mentioned as having been with KINGU when the War between the Worlds occurred. However, the next passage leaves us with some interesting thoughts, continuing on page 70:

“Wherefore it is wise to conjure It in the Names of the Three Great Watchers Who existed before the Confrontation from whose borne the Watcher and His Race ultimately derive, and those Three are ANU, ENLIL, and Master ENKI of the Magick Waters. And for this reason They are sometimes called the Three Watchers, MASS SSARATI and the Watcher MASS SSARATU, or KIA MASS SSARATU.”

The above passage brings up quite a few points of interest, as we discover that the Watcher’s Race ultimately derives from the Three Great Watchers, ANU, ENLIL, and ENKI. This means that the Watchers were not a creation of the Goddess TIAMAT, but of the Three Great Watchers. We find that the description of the Watchers and their shift in alliances between MARDUK and KINGU, is written for us in the MAGAN Text on pages 159-160:

WE ARE THE LOST ONES
From a Time before Time
From a Land beyond the Stars
From the Age when ANU walked the earth
In company of Bright Angels.
We have survived the first War
Between the Powers of the Gods
And have seen the wrath of the Ancient Ones
Dark Angels
Vent upon the Earth
WE ARE FROM A RACE BEYOND THE WANDERERS OF NIGHT.
We have survived the Age when ABSU ruled the Earth
And the Power destroyed out generations.
We have survived on tops of mountains
And beneath the feet of mountains
And have spoken with the Scorpions
In allegiance and were betrayed.

And TIAMAT has promised us nevermore to attack
With water and with wind.
But the Gods are forgetful.
Beneath the Seas of NAR MATTARU
Beneath the Seas of the Earth, NAR MATTARU..,”

The above quote mentions the “LOST ONES” are from a Race beyond the Wanderers of the Night. This is the same description that the Mad Arab gives us in his Testimony concerning the ARRA Sign on page 12:

“Of the three carved symbols, the first is the sign of our Race from beyond the Stars, and is called ARRA in the tongue of the Scribe who taught it to me, an emissary of the Elder Ones. In the tongue of the eldest city of Babylon, it was UR. It is the Sigil of the Covenant of the Elder Gods, and when they see it, they who gave it to us, they will not forget us. They have sworn!”

We discussed in great detail the meaning of the term ARRA, as we defined it as derivative of the ancient Sanskrit term Arya, or Aryan, meaning noble or spiritual. We were later able to discover that the term Aryan described a person on a spiritual path or one who was of divine lineage. We were also able to see that the term Aryan had nothing to do with the physical characteristics that people like Adolph Hitler propagated.

The MAGAN Text speaks about a time when ANU walked the earth. While it is commonly known that the term Aryan is of Sanskrit origin, it is not commonly known that the term ANU is also of Sanskrit origin. Interestingly, Wikipedia gives us this definition about a Tribe of ANU:

Anu is a Vedic Sanskrit term for a major tribe in the Rigveda, RV 1.108.8, RV 8.10.5 (both times listed together with the Druhyu) and, later also in the Mahabharata. One of the Anu kings, King Anga, was a chakravartin (AB 8.22).

Ānava, the vrddhi derivation of Anu appears as the name of a ruler in the Rigvedic account of the Battle of the Ten Kings (7.18.13) and at 8.4.1 with the Turvaśa (tribe). The meaning ánu “living, human” (Naighantu) cannot be substantiated for the Rigveda [1] and may have been derived from the tribal name,”

The Tribe of ANU were known for their great metaphysical powers. It was the Battle of Ten Kings that is describe as the War, which appears throughout various places in the MAGAN Text. The Tribe of ANU is just one description of a people who are descendants of the Three Great Watchers. The Aryan Race cannot be described through a physical characteristic, but that of a spiritual one. Madame Blavatsky argued that humanity had descended from a series of “Root Races“, naming the fifth root race (out of seven) the “Aryan” Race. She thought that the Aryans originally came from Atlantis and described the Aryan races with the following words:

The Aryan races, for instance, now varying from dark brown, almost black, red-brown-yellow, down to the whitest creamy colour, are yet all of one and the same stock — the Fifth Root-Race — and spring from one single progenitor, (…) who is said to have lived over 18,000,000 years ago, and also 850,000 years ago — at the time of the sinking of the last remnants of the great continent of Atlantis.

The Watchers are those alive today who are from the union of the gods and humans.  Previously we stated that the many of the Judaic –Christian beliefs are a distortion of the Chaldean system of metaphysics. Notice what is mentioned in the book of Genesis:

Genesis 6:1-7
1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal ; his days will be a hundred and twenty years.” 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterwardwhen the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown
.

The fourth verse from Genesis Chapter Six mentions that the Nephilim existed after the deluge. This is something that most Christians really can’t explain. Yet it does show us that there are descendants from the gods who are alive today, and these have the potential in becoming a part of the class of Watchers, the IGIGI or those who are awake.

The Simon Necronomicon on page xli makes the following correspondence:

ENLIL (ABSU)

Sphere of the Zodiac or Fixed Stars

ENKI; LUMASHI (IGIGI)

Here in the above chart we see that the Sphere of the Zodiac corresponds to ENKI and the IGIGI. It might very well be possible that ENKI is the Lord of the Watchers. Notice what is mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon on page 70:

And the Lord of the Watchers dwells, it is said, among the Wastes of the IGIGI, and only Watches and never raises the Sword or fights the idimmi, save when the Covenant is invoked by none less than the Elder Gods in their Council, like unto the Seven Glorious APHKHALLU.”

The above passage describes the Lord of the Watchers as really getting involved unless the Covenant is invoked. This occurs when the Initiate begins the GateWalking Process. ENKI is invoked more than any other god in the workings of the Simon Necronomicon. We should also consider that many of the workings in the Simon Necronomicon also involve the use of the Watcher. This means that ENKI is overseeing the work of the Watcher. Let us now look further into the Introduction of the Simon Necronomicon to get a deeper meaning of the “Lord” of the Watchers. Notice the chart on page xxxix:

The chart above also depicts Nar Mattaru as the Abyss or Out of Space. In Sumerian mythology, Enki is lord of the Abzu (the watery abyss and also semen) and of wisdom. This would mean then that ENKI is the “Lord” of the Watchers who dwells amongst the IGIGI. Notice what is mentioned in the INVOCATION OF THE WATCHER:

“Rise up, by ANU I summon Thee!
Rise up, by ENLIL I summon Thee!
Rise up, by ENKI I summon Thee!

Rise up, from the pits of ancient holocausts!
Rise up, from the old Abyss of NARR MARRATU!

Earlier in our discussion we made note that the Race of Watchers ultimately derive the Three Great Watchers who obviously dwell in NARR MARRATU, which is a derivative of Nar Mattaru,  The Simon Necronomicon often speaks of Nar Mattaru as the “Spirit of the Seas.” The term “Seas” first appears in the Testimony of the Mad Arab. Notice what is mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon on page 6:

I have traveled beneath the Seas, in search of the Palace of Our Master, and found the stone of monuments of vanquished civilisations, and deciphered the writings of some of these; while still others remain mysteries to any man who lives. And these civilisations were destroyed because of the knowledge contained in this book.”

The “Master” that the Mad Arab is speaking of is ENKI. We can confirm this by what the Mad Arab wrote on page 46 of the Simon Necronomicon:

And the Number of ENKI is Forty a most excellent Number, and he is our Father, of all who would tread these forgotten paths, and wander into Lands unknown, among the Wastes, amid frightful monsters of the Azonei.”

The above quote verifies the special relationship that ENKI has with those who Walk the path of as described in the Simon Necronomicon. Out of the Three Great Watchers, ANU, ENLIL, and ENKI, it is ENKI who is the most compassionate to those who walk the path. It was ENKI who raised up INANNA from her death-like state. It was ENKI who summoned MARDUK when the gods faced destruction by TIAMAT. It was ENKI who raised a pale reflection of Enkidu for Gilgamesh. Therefore, it can be stated that ENKI is the Great Initiator and also the Ruler of Nar Mattaru.

We have discussed many points in this article so that the following information we present can be clear and understood. First, we should indicate that the term “Seas” is a reference to a finer dimension, or a reality that is hidden from the five senses, but can be experienced by those who are awake. In a previous passage that we examined, the Mad Arab stated that he traveled beneath the “Seas” in search of ENKI’s palace. This is evidently not a place that is tangible by the five senses, but must be experienced through the eye of awareness. It is accessible through astral travel.

Second, we must state that the term “Black Earth” or the Land of the Dead is not a literal physical place, but represents a sphere that exists within the vicinity of the physical Earth, but astrally. On page 37 of the Simon Necronomicon we get a clear picture that the “Sea” is not something within reach of the physical senses:

“Know that, when Walking thus through the Sea of Spheres, he should leave his Watcher behind that It may guard his body and his property, lest he be slain unawares and must wander throughout eternity among the dark spaces between Stars, or else be devoured by the wrathful IGIGI that dwell beyond.”

From the above quote we get a clear picture that the “Seas” that are sometimes mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon are metaphysical.

Thirdly, we have spoken about the Watcher on various occasions. The Watcher is the Priest or Priestesses higher self. Different to popular opinion the higher self will remain in a dead state, until the individual takes on the responsibility of the Great Alchemical Work. It is for this reason that the Simon Necronomicon describes our higher self as being dead. We have learned in our previous articles that the Watcher (our higher self) is often described as being the dead KUTULU. For more details, please see our previous article that is found here:

http://warlockasylum.wordpress.com/the-bandar-sign-part-1-kutulu/

Since the Watcher is KUTULU this would also mean that the Ruler of the Watchers who dwells in the IGIGI is the Great KUTULU. This would mean that ENKI is the Great KUTULU. Now that we have found proof that the Calling of The Four Directional Gates is an ancient rite, noted amongst the Persians in their histories of the Four Royal Stars of Persia, let us look at the following passage in the Simon Necronomicon, which greatly relates to our subject at hand. Please note pages 189-191:

“Of all the Gods and Spirits of Abomination, KUTULU only cannot be summoned, for he is the Sleeping Lord. The magician can not hope to have any power over him, but he may be worshipped and for him the proper sacrifices may be made, so that he will spare thee when he rises to the earth. And the times for the sacrifice are the same times as the Sleeping of MARDUK, for this is when Great KUTULU moves. And he is the very Fire of the Earth, and Power of All Magick. When he joins with the Abominations of the Sky, TIAMAT will once more rule the earth!

And this is his Seal:

 kutulu

And there are Four Spirits of the Spaces, and they come upon the Wind, and they are Things of the Wind, and of Fire. And the First comes from the North, and is called USTUR, and has a Human Shape. And He is the Most Ancient of the Four, and a Great Lord of the World. And the Second comes from the East, and is called SED and has the Shape of a Bull, but with a human face, and is very mighty. And the Third comes from the south, and is called LAMAS, and is of the Shape of a Lion, but with a human head, and governs those things of the Flame and the Burning Wind. And the Fourth comes from the West, and is called NATTIG, and is of the Shape of an Eagle, but with a human body, having only the face and wings of an Eagle, with an Eagle’s claws. And this Eagle comes from the Sea and is a Great Mystery.

And from Nuzku upon Uru they come, and do not wait, and are always present,, and they receive the Wanderers in their Seasons. And the Season of SED is that of the Great Night, when the Bear is slain, and this is in the Month of AIRU. And the Season of LAMAS is the Month of ABU, and that of NATTIG in ARAHSHAMMA and lastly that of USTUR in SHABATU. Thus are the Four Spirits of the Four Spaces, and their Seasons; and they dwell between the Sun’s Spaces, and are not of them, but of the Stars, and, as it is said, of the very IGIGI themselves although this is not altogether known.”

Here in the above quote we see the same correlations that we have discussed earlier. Man (KUTULU) represents the North. The Bull is symbolic of the East. The Lion represents the South, and the Eagle, or Scorpio, is symbolic of the West.

The Great Mystery of the Eagle that rises from the Sea is examined in the book entitled, The Language of God in the Universe by Lehman, Helena. Noticed what is mentioned on page six of her book:

“In every case, the eagle’s face replaces the scorpion. The reason for this is because the eagle is the natural enemy of the scorpion and the scorpion, representing something evil, cannot exist in the heavenly Holy place where God dwells.”

Although, the writer is of Christian bias, she does recognize the ancient tradition of using the eagle to represent the scorpion. This also shows us that there was a practice amongst the ancients to use benevolent representations of dark forces. This was also practiced especially amongst the peoples of Ancient Mesopotamia. This is revealed to us in the MAGAN Text on page 155:

“She bore Monster-Serpents
Sharp of tooth, long of fang,
She filled their bodies with venom for blood
Roaring dragons she has clothed with Terror
Has crowned them with Halos, making them as Gods,”

Before moving on let us finish our examination of the Scorpion, who is also depicted as an eagle and phoenix. In Antiquity, the symbol of the eagle was always associated with Scorpio. The eagle is the king of birds, because it is capable of flying above the clouds as it seeks the Sun.

The eagle possesses keen eyesight, permitting him to see his prey.   The eagle has powerful talons.

Although the scorpion changes shells, it has survived for centuries without changing its form.

The scorpion has a poisonous stinger which inspires fear. A Scorpio does not seek to please others and may, enjoy instillin g fear.

If a scorpion is trapped by fire, the only animal which can commit suicide.

The Genitals and the Anus

Should it be surprising that the “secret” parts of the body correspond to the Scorpion (an animal whose home is the ground), which is governed by Pluto (the master of the underworld). The genitals and the anus, in this instance, are symbolic points of reference even more than anatomical features:

The genitals represent reproductive capabilities and fertilization A Scorpio is dominated by Survival instincts: he tends to seek creativity and power. The anus represents decay and elimination. A Scorpio is governed by forces associated with death; he tends to be destructive and aggressive.

The genitals and the anus represent two poles, or the instinctive duality of a Scorpio, who is divided between the life-instinct and the death-instinct: Eros and Thanatos. A Scorpio simultaneously seeks creation and destruction and Heaven and Hell.

This ambivalence emerges: within the season: decomposition of the natural world in November is the source of the next cycle; within the liturgical calendar: All Saints’ Day (glorification of spiritual life) is followed by the Day of the Dead;

This is the Great Mystery of the Eagle as mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon, but let us know move on in our further search of ENKI as the Great KUTULU.

On page 189 of the Simon Necronomicon, it states that ‘KUTULU is the power of all Magick.’

On page 96 of the Simon Necronomicon is says that ‘the Power of Magick is the Power of Our Master ENKI, Lord of the Seas.,’

The poetic treaty of the MAGAN Text reveals the identity of the Great KUTULU on page 160 of the Simon Necronomicon:

“And TIAMAT has promised us nevermore to attack
With water and with wind.
But the Gods are forgetful.
Beneath the Seas of NAR MATTARU
Beneath the Seas of the Earth, NAR MATTARU
Beneath the World lays sleeping
The God of Anger, Dead but Dreaming
The God of CUTHALU, Dead but Dreaming!
The Lord of KUR, calm but thunderous!
The One-Eyes Sword, cold but burning!”

The above passage speaks about the ‘God of CUTHALU’ or man of cutha, as also being the Lord of Kur. This title could only apply to ENKI:

“Enki is the lord of the “Abzu (the watery abyss and also semen) and of wisdom. This contradiction leads Kramer and Maier to postulate that he was once known as En-kur, lord of the monster-infested underworld, the area which contained the Abzu. He did struggle with Kur (a dragon-like creature who ruled the realm Kur) as mentioned in the prelude to ‘Gilgamesh, Enkidu and the Underworld’ and presumably was victorious and thereby able to claim the title “Lord of Kur” (the realm). He is a god of water, creation, and fertility. He also holds dominion over the land. He is the keeper of the me, the divine laws.”
     - Christopher Siren, “Sumerian Mythology FAQ” (Version 1.5html)

Now let us look on page 200 of the Simon Necronomicon:

“Invocation of the Powers

Spirit of the Earth, Remember!
Spirit of the Seas, Remember!
In the Names of the Most Secret Spirits of NAR MARRATUK
The Sea below the seas
And of KUTULU
The Serpent who sleepeth Dead
From beyond the graves of the Kings
From beyond the tomb wherein INANNA
Daughter of the Gods
Gained Entrance to the Unholy Slumbers
Of the she-fiend of KUTHULETH

In the above passage KUTULU is described as a Serpent. Interestingly, The serpent was considered as a symbol of wisdom and it was associated with Enki and several members of his family. Enki was also known as the ‘God of Wisdom’. The connection between the ‘Nagas’ (wise serpents, healers) with the ‘wise serpents’ of Egypt is not only obvious but also supported by Iarchas (their leader at the time) who said that their knowledge originated in Egypt. Another clue is given to us in the passage above, as ERESHKIGAL is described as KUTHULETH. KUTHULETH seem to be the feminine ofrm of KUTULU. Yet we must remember that ERESHKIGAL is ENKI’s twin brother. Another verse in the Simon Necronomicon also points out clearly that ENKI is not only the God of the Watchers, but also the Great KUTULU. In found in the NORMAL INVOCATION OF THE WATCHER:

Raise the Copper Dagger of INANNA of the Calling, and declaim the Invocation in a clear voice, be it loud or soft:

IA MASS SSARATU!
I conjure Thee by the Fire of GIRRA
The Veils of Sunken Varloorni,
And by the Lights of SHAMMASH.
I call Thee here, before me, in visible shadow
In beholdable Form, to Watch and Protect this Sacred Circle, this Holy Gate of (N.)
May He of the Name Unspeakable, the Number Unknowable,
Whom no man hath seen at any time,
Whom no geometer measureth,
Whom no wizard hath ever called
CALL THEE HERE NOW!
Rise up, by ANU I summon Thee!
Rise up, by ENLIL I summon Thee!
Rise up, by ENKI I summon Thee!
Cease to be the Sleeper of EGURRA
.”

The EGURRA mentioned in the quote above refers to the abode of ENKI, commonly known as the E-ENGURRA. The E-ENGURRA was a Temple that ENKI built for himself. The description of this “magical temple” has the same elements as found in the description of the ‘Spirits of the Four Spaces, which are described on pages 189-191. Let us examine the famous epic entitled, ENKI builds the E-ENGURRA:

Myth that tells how Enki built a house (temple) for himself in Eridu, the oldest city in Sumer according to tradition, the first of five cities founded before the Great Flood.

The temple, decorated with silver, lapis lazuli, carnelian and gold, was established on the bank of a river, where its foundations reached deep into the underground sweet, fertilising waters, called the Apsu.

The temple had magical qualities: the brickwork gave Enki advice, while the surrounding reed fences roared like a bull. The roof-beam was shaped like the bull of heaven, and a lion gripping a man formed the gateway. The overall effect was described as a lusty bull…,”

In the above passage we see the same elements as described on pages 189-191 of the Simon Necronomicon. We have the bull, the lion, the man, and the temple itself was submerged in water, which water is symbolic of Scorpio or the eagle. In Encyclopedia of Religion and Ethics by James Hastings, John Alexander Selbie, Louis Herbert Gray, on page 153, it states the following:

The Marduk prayer was employed in many other services and will serve as a good example of these Semitic compositions:

Mighty and glorified one, splendid one of Eridu, Lofty Prince, firstborn of Nudimmud, Marduk the terrible one, who maketh Egurra to rejoice..,”

Now this puts a lot of clarity on the working of the Simon Necronomicon. One of the new perspectives that the GateWalker now gains is that the alchemical treaty of the Simon Necronomicon is designed for us to work on ourselves and prepare for our spiritual adoption into the Kingdom of Three Great Watcher, which is mediate by ENKI that will soon rule the earth visibly. This underlining theme of the Necromancers of Ancient Mesopotamia has been distorted by many World Religions, which have described this transition as the last days, the rapture, and etc, yet it has always been held as an instinctual heritage for all those of the Draconian Lineage. When the Sleeper of EGURRA has awakened, it is the same as the awakening of ISHTAR, in the account Of The Sleep of ISHTAR, they will rule with their heavenly Father ENKI and aid in the work of helping others of Draconian Lineage, by using the same powers that ISHTAR gained, the ability of raising the dead. Just like the symbolic meaning of the alchemist who can turn lead into gold, so it is with the tradition of the Necromantic Arts a symbolic reference of bringing the dead to life The mad Arab could not finish the book, not because he was being consumed by evil forces, but his work was done, and he was to continue his work in the presence of the FGURRA. We will discuss this more in our next article.

“When the Great KUTULU rises up and greets the Stars, then the War will be over, and the World be One.”

OPEN LETTER TO OUR READERS #1

Greetings!

I would like to thank all of our readers who have supported the NECRONOMICON GATEWALKER’S INFO PAGE. It has been a pleasure sharing some of the information concerning the deeper aspects of the Simon Necronomicon Tradition with you.

I began writing this page as a resource for those individuals who are engaged in the workings of the Simon Necronomicon. Over the past few months I even had the pleasure of participating in a debate with author/writer Dan Harms, and I extend my thanks to him and his staff for sharing with us some of the many insights from the Lovecraft Necronomicon Tradition.

Recently, I have noticed a growing fascination among new occultist with the Simon Necronomicon, which I am very happy to see. Along with this renewed interest in the Necronomicon, I am also seeing a wide range of discontent by those who may have tried to work with the grimoire and were unsuccessful, or those who have not taken the time to research the material, so I decided that I would list a few quick notes for the newcomer who would like to gain the most out of their experience with the Simon Necronomicon.

First, I would like to note that the Simon Necronomicon is not an instruction manual for Chaos Magic. I believe that it is due to pure laziness that someone would come up with an idea such as this. Every magical textbook or grimoire should be research thoroughly and not to be read on face value. In order for the novice to get the most out of any information, he/she,  has to measure it up against the template, in which the grimoire claims to get its power from. For example, Christians use the Bible as a measuring stick when reading any information that is said to be inspired by the Christian Mythos. Jews use the Torah and Muslims use the Qur’an. The Simon Necronomicon tradition and writings should also be analyzed under the same measuring stick, and the template to use is the very same source, in which the book claims to gain its power from- Ancient Mesopotamia.

I have seen people fall under the path of illusion by assuming that the information in the Simon Necronomicon is just made up randomly. This theory presents a few problems. First, it gives the idea that anybody can write a grimoire, which is completely idiotic.

I have seen so many miscalculations by those inexperienced ones rambling in the so-called ‘wisdom.’ I have also seen the words that people use in their Google searches to find my page, yet these inexperienced ones fail to understand that true initiation is a learning process, and also the greatest teacher. All one has to do is learn about the culture and religion of Ancient Mesopotamia, but more importantly develop a relationship with the Deities, or energies that the Chaldeans worked with. This is where things begin to move from an aspect of logic to knowing. I am sure that our relationships with our loved ones are indeed logical in some ways, but their uniqueness comes from that which is not logical, and what I am speaking about is not a visit to some fantasy land or what have you. Yet it is the same with the energies that work behind the Simon Necronomicon. When we build a relationship with these ‘deities’ they will teach us things far beyond what a Google search can. It is just like our relationship with our parents. We use logic to validate and magic to open up communication with our spiritual guides.

The second mistake that I have seen amongst these inexperienced ones, is assuming that the magical path is the path to power. Anyone who claims that you can gain something through occultism is looking to use you as some sort of pawn. The purpose of Occult Studies is to discover how to work with the hidden natural laws of science. If you think that inventing a light bulb is power then more power to you. This path is also for those who are born Nephilim. The Nephilimic Tradition is one that I will write about in the future though it has existed for thousands of years and this tradition is what keeps the veil between those who understand the Simon Necronomicon and those who don’t

I am happy to announce that we have recently updated our page and corrected some of the errors in the text. Please feel free to comment on our new look and on some of the information that is featured in our blogs. INTERVIEW WITH ADEPT EDUNPANNA

Greetings! I would like to thank all of our supporters here at the Necronomicon GateWalkers Information Page. If this is you first time visiting this website, I would suggest that you familiarize yourself with some of our previous articles about the Simon Necronomicon. You can find these articles listed by order to the right of this page. Enjoy!

Recently, I was blessed with the experience of interviewing a true Adept in the workings of the Simon Necronomicon, Brother Edunpanna. Edunpanna mentored me during my process of initiation via GateWalking. I can clearly recall my first experience meeting with the Brother. I was fascinated by his depth of knowledge concerning “the book” (as we call it) and his ability to read my thoughts. Adept Edunpanna would spend his time and resources in making sure my experience of initiation was all that it could be, and I would like to extend my thanks to him for taking the time to teach me the steps that I needed to learn. I had a chance to ask him a few questions about some of his experiences and what he finds useful in working with the system:
1- It is good to have you on board here at the Necronomicon GateWalker’s
Information Page, so that all of our readers are aware of who you are,
would you mind giving us a little introduction? Your name? and
occupation?

George Deckle. Electrician. AKA Edunpanna / Endupanna / Smasher666
2-When did you first begin using the Simon Necronomicon?

In 1988. Although I did not obtain functional operating procedure until 10 years later.

Early in Junior High I became interested in the occult. At first nothing seemed to work. I wanted to believe in magick. But my mind operates in a way that unless I see something first hand there is no way that I can believe in it. Coming from a strong Christian background I often prayed for power with magick. At that time I was more into Solomonic magick. Because I felt Yahweh / Jehovah approved of such works. However Yahweh / Jesus never seemed to answer my prayers. This coming in a very troubling time period of my life. After repeated misfortune I ended up denouncing God. I cursed Jehovah / Jesus. I then committed the one sin that the Bible says is unforgivable. To ensure that in the afterlife my soul would be separated from the spirit of the God I had come to hate. I blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Spiritually I was dead.

This hour of spiritual darkness came at a time when my life was in great danger. I do not claim to be a saint and have done many things in life that I now regret. The foolishness of my youth had led me to a life filled with violence. This climaxed when a rival gang declared war on me. My own forces had been decimated. I was absolutely certain that when the sun rose up in the morning that it would be the day of my death.

My soul was so wretched at the time that death seemed sweet relief. I had a severe case of Doc Holiday syndrome. That night was the lowest / darkest night of my life. My heart was empty of anything other than hate.

That night a spirit appeared to me. It offered to make everything I wanted come true. It told me that if I worshiped it then the next day I would live. That I would finally develop the magickal power I had so hard sought. It also offered the love and peace that I so desperately at that time needed. At the time I questioned my sanity. What I was seeing / hearing was not supposedly possible by any previous known standard of realism. That voice has many times since whispered in my ear. I have come to trust and believe in that voice completely.

Not wanting to die I made a pact with this at the time unidentified spirit. I performed a blood oath in which I cut an x over my heart. That scar I have until this day. The spirit then offered me three wishes. Suddenly this reminded me of something I had experienced in childhood. A vision that at the time my father had accounted to sunstroke. I already knew what my wishes would be because I had wished for them many times before. Wisdom. Strength. Power.

The next day as the sun rose I felt like I was being raised from the dead. Something in my heart changed. True to the spirits word everything that I wanted began to come true. And indeed I finally started to develop some power. The spirit identified itself as Enki. This led me to at that time drop all other magick systems and immerse myself into the Necronomicon.

Looking back at this time in my youth it is as if looking at a different person. Who I am now and what I was then separated only by spiritual awakening. I include this sordid tale of my past only to illustrate that at the time I began my journey I was immersed in darkness. Yet in the center of that darkness I found the light.

3- I have seen a copy of your wife’s Simon Necronomicon in Turkish. I
was unaware that the Simon Necronomicon is a universal book. Would you
mind giving us your opinion on how that came about?

Lots of Turks like the Necronomicon because Sumerian is the language of their ancestors. Turkish is pronounced exactly like the ancient Sumerian. Many bootleg versions of the Necronomicon exist. I have heard of it in Chinese, Spanish and Russian. I doubt Simon receives any royalties from these versions but he may find it an interesting development.
4-Including myself, How many GateWalkers have you mentored over the
years? And what joy do you receive from teaching?

Let me be the first to tell you that I am a fool. For only from this realization can we ever hope to attain wisdom. I do not have all the answers nor do I claim to be anything other than just some guy that worships Enki. Initially I did not want to teach. Enki demanded it from me. At first I resisted it. However Enki would not allow me to do anything other than his will. As per our agreement. People began to cross my path in life who were already involved in the Necronomicon. New York’s population is so great that the odds of this happening repeatedly are probably not too bad. However the way these people crossed my path was significant. Some of these people disappeared from my life as suddenly as they had entered it. I have no doubt that my part in their experience was fulfilled and it was time for them to move on. What I do is basically explain the operating manual. With that basic knowledge the novice begins to naturally understand the system until a point where my services are no longer required. While I may be at times a tutor I pale in comparison to the true teacher. After the first few gates all the knowledge needed is obtained directly from the initiate from the powers behind the system.
5-There has been some talk about making the Necronomicon GateWalker’s
culture and way of life public. Some have even suggested that the
community should take steps to become a legal entity. How do you feel
about that, since it is a secret society at the present moment?

Regardless of its dubious origins the Necronomicon has gained a vast following in relatively a short period of time. Doubtless this is not because of the contents of the book but rather the powers behind the book. Anyone can use it as a tool. Fewer people take it as a spiritual path. However those who do become a disciple attain a much greater result.

It would be wise to establish the Federal Governments recognition of the Neo – Sumerians spirituality. My problem with established religions is that they eventually just become a business. A money making organization. I have no doubts that Enki has a plan and that in the future people will step forward on his behalf to accomplish the founding of a Temple to the Elder Gods. I do hope that these people keep in mind the goal is to help others. Not to make a profit.

6-In your opinion, what is the most effective way to work with the Simon
Necronomicon?

Firstly as a priest. Although I love ceremonial magick that frame of mind will get you into trouble with the system. A Shamanistic approach can be quite rewarding. Sorcery is about changing the world by first changing yourself. I do not use circles. Instead of calling the forces externally I summon them internally. Many may be quick to assert that such an approach to any system that deals with spirit summoning is dangerous. However many others would not be reading this page to begin with if their hearts were full of fear of the unknown. To fully benefit from the system you must believe in it until the point you never doubt your safety in working the system. What exists in the mind exists in reality. Although the forces may punish one who abuses the system; those forces will not harm a priest of the book. A great pressure will be exerted on the priests mind and soul by those forces. However this is only to stimulate death and rebirth into a higher awakening.
7- What are some of your most memorable experiences that you have had
while walking the Gates?

The astral experiences have been greatly rewarding. I only share those things on a personal basis. However the things that stick out in my mind as the most significant from Gatewalking are the developments in the physical world as a result. The most memorable being lives that were saved of people who were sick and near death. To me there can be no greater reward than being a part of changing someone’s future from the graveyard to endless possibilities. Keeping in mind we have no true power of our own and that we are just instruments of the divine. I do want it to be known that those in search of such miracles can with the use of the book become instruments of the power, and perform the miraculous. We would all like to save a loved one of course. However saving a stranger can bring a great sense of peace and be very rewarding in itself. Instead of being selfish we should strive to be selfless.

For the sake of those interested in the astral experiences of gatewalking I will tell of one such vision.

I said “Enki, Enki teach me magick.” Enki said. I am teaching you as fast as you can learn it.” I said “Enki, Enki give me power.” Enki said I am giving you power as fast as you can contain it.” I said Master Enki master Enki make me one with you. A great blood vessel reached down from the sky and enveloped me. I felt myself racing through the energy I can only describe as the blood of the master.

I found myself in floating in a sea of darkness as if in outer space. Far away I saw a tiny light. A voice whispered to me. “Enter into the center of the light. “ I began to run towards the light. No matter how hard I ran I never seemed to get any closer. Then I began to move at a speed that can not be described. I heard the voices of spirits talking to each other. “Do you think this one will make it?” “He might make it.” Commanding my will I pushed even harder until finally I entered the light. I heard a voice calling to me. “Come to me in the center of the light.” It seemed as if I ran forever without reaching the center until finally I was suddenly there. In the center of the light it was dark and I was confused. I knew Enki to be there with me although I could not see him. I said “Master. Master why is there darkness in the center of the light.” He replied to me. “We are the light makers.” I awoke. Upon returning to the physical from this experience I had gained an Epiphany.

8-What message would you like to leave for those who are interested in
the process of self-initiation, as described in the Simon Necronomicon?

I do not have much advice for anyone who wishes to work the book as a Magician other than follow its instructions to the letter. For those who are interested in becoming disciples of the master I can promise the experience to be a birth by fire. The journey will not be easy. The mental and spiritual stress will be great. However nothing worth having ever comes easy. After you have passed Adar you will look back at the person you were in the beginning in utter amazement. The crown of your achievement will be the new way in which you regard the world around you. This in truth is the heart of power. I trust that if you reach this point or if you have been allowed to reach this point spiritually you will be developed so that with the power you do the right thing.

Let me add a warning for those who seek power for selfish reasons and have plans to abuse the system. You are much more likely to end up in a mental institution with this selfish type approach than to ever gain even a basic understanding of the system.

THE BANDAR SIGN PART 3: THE CREATION OF THE ANCIENT ONE!

We are now in our third discussion about the BANDAR. In our previous discussions, we were able to validate that the Watcher is KUTULU and also that the workings in the Simon Necronomicon are Qliphotic in nature. After reviewing the history of the Qliphotic Tree, we also discovered that it is the original Cabbalistic Rite, and were demonized due to the beliefs of the Judeo-Christian sectors that were gaining power in the material world. The purpose of the Qliphotic Tree, as mentioned in our second discussion about the BANDAR, is best said in the words of the Dragon Rouge website:

The Qliphotic Cabbala uses the forces of destruction to free the adept from the limitations of creation. Through these forces we can learn to create. In the Cabbala, Lucifer and the fallen angels are those who first used the Qliphotic forces to free themselves from God. The principles of light are keeping the angels and the rest of creation in their firm, predetermined circles. The dark forces break these circles and make a free will and an individual existence outside God possible.”

Now that we are aware that the workings of the Simon Necronomicon are Qliphotic in nature, we are now able to understand why NERGAL is said to be the Lord of the ARRA and AGGA sign, as found in the INVOCATION OF THE NERGAL GATE on page 58 of the Simon Necronomicon. NERGAL is the ruler of the Underworld. The workings, the process of initiation, are all part of a journey through the Underworld. Yet the question remains; who is KUTULU? First let’s look at NERGAL a little closer since he is considered the Lord of the Underworld.

When we search through the various references about KUTULU, we seem to find it inconsistent to place NERGAL (Lord of the Underworld) as KUTULU. One inconsistency we find is found in the MAGAN text concerning ISHTAR. It should be noted that at the time of INANNA’S Descent into the Underworld, NERGAL was not yet the ruler of the Underworld. In some accounts, INANNA/ISHTAR is said to visit the Underworld due to the death of her brother-in-law, GUGALANNA (The Bull of Heaven, also ERESHKIGAL’S husband). We were able to determine that INANNA’S purpose was to resurrect the Ancient Tantric Rites of Sumer, and her kundalini. However, the Simon Necronomicon speaks of KUTULU as being chained to the Underworld. This would definitely exclude NERGAL from being associated with KUTULU, since the ancient accounts mention NERGAL as overpowering ERESHKIGAL. NERGAL has another aspect which is that of the Scorpion Man. The Simon Necronomicon mentions that NERGAL is the God of Mars. Mars rules the zodiac sign of Scorpio, which also rules the genitalia, or sexual organs. In our earlier discussions we were able to determine that the workings of the Simon Necronomicon are tantric, and the Art of Tantra is associated with the energies of sexuality. This is why it is mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon on page 209, concerning the Scorpion Man that ‘He knows of the Gate, but not the Gate.’ This indicates that while the arts of Tantra appear to be accessed through the sexual glands, the sexual act in itself does not awaken the kundalini. NERGAL’S aspect as the Scorpion-Man has long been indentified by astrologists and their observation of the stars in order to learn more about ancient man. Astrologist Catherine Tennant writes:

But the Scorpion was really formed in about 5000 BC in the Euphrates valley, where it was sacred to the god of war and was a symbol of the darkness and decay of the waning year. Gilgamesh, the prototype of all our heroes, was challenged by a scorpion-man who guarded the gates of the sunrise, which were great folding doors in the steep side of the mountains of the East.

It has always been greatly feared by sailors, as its autumn setting presaged storms. For the alchemists, however, who believed that they could produce gold by releasing the spirit from its bondage in matter, November, Scorpio’s season, when the earth decays, was their busiest time of year. Only then could the spirit be released, and base metal transmuted into gold.

In astrology, it was the ‘baleful source of war and discord’ in medieval times, when the birthplace of its ruler, Mars, was located in its sting. Today, it is seen as the sign of sex, death, transformation and rebirth, ruled over by the powerful planet, Pluto. The other symbol linked to Scorpio is the soaring eagle, which represents its power to rise above the darkness and decay and be reborn.”

The above quote indicates NERGAL even in his darker aspect is not KUTULU, but the Scorpion Man. The Simon Necronomicon on page 209 has this to say about the Scorpion Man:

“He was of old created by TIAMAT to fight the Elder Gods, but was permitted to stay below the Mountains by Them. He has deceived us once, and may do so again.”

This deception is recorded as a dispute between NERGAL and MARDUK:

“He regards Marduk as having become negligent and prepares to attack
his people in Babylon. He challenges Marduk in Esagila in
Shuanna/Babylon. Marduk responds that he already killed most of the
people in the flood and would not do so again. He also states that he
could not run the flood without getting off of his throne and letting
control slip. Erra volunteers to take his seat and control things.
Marduk takes his vacation and Erra sets about trying to destroy Babylon.
Ishum intervenes on Babylon’s behalf and persuades Erra to stop, but not
before he promises that the other gods will acknowledge themselves as
Erra’s servants.”

What about the passage in the Simon Necronomicon which states that the Scorpion Man was created of old by TIAMAT, how does that related to NERGAL?

NERGAL can be said to be suspected of being an Ancient One since his numerical value is not based on sixty, the number of ANU. All the deities in the Necronomicon GateWalking Process are divisible into the number 60 except NERGAL. While some may scoff at this fact, yet it is important in order to understand how the energies of the Three Great Watchers, ANU, ENLIL, and ENKI, are infused in the Gates. Notice the chart:

ANU = 60  ENLIL = 50  ENKI = 40 which gives us a total of 150

NANNA = 30 NEBO = 12 INANNA = 15 SHAMMASH = 20 NERGAL =8

MARDUK = 10  NINIB = 4 this gives us a total of 99. Now we must include ourselves as the fool’s card, which would bring the value up to 100. We must also add in an additional 50 based on the 50 powers that we receive once we visit the Sphere of MARDUK, or the 50 names. This gives us a total of 150. The energies of the Three Great Watchers are properly merged into the GateWalking system.

Since all the number of the Gate gods are divisions into sixty, it represents that they are of the Rites of ANU and part of the Ancient Babylonian pantheon, with the exception of NERGAL.  NERGAL was the principal deity of the city of Kutha, and the religion that was exercised in Kutha preceded the rites of Marduk. We should also consider the fact that in Ancient Sumeria, NERGAL was not included among the original major seven deities in the Sumerian pantheon. From our observations, we are able to conclude that NERGAL is not KUTULU. Now that we have discovered that NERGAL is not KUTULU, then we must begin our search somewhere else. Let us turn once again to the Simon Necronomicon and the section called; THE CONJURATION OF THE WATCHER

On page 70 of the Simon Necronomicon it tells us:

“The Watcher comes from a Race different from that of Men and yet different from that of the Gods, and it is said that he was with KINGU and his hordes at the time of the War between the Worlds, but was dissatisfied and did cleave unto the Armies of Lord MARDUK”

This War occurred during the change of pole stars, when Polaris became the North Star from the view of the ancient Chaldeans.

“And the Watcher appears sometimes as a great and fierce Dog, who prowls about the Gate or the Circle, frightening away the idimmu who forever lurk about the barriers, waiting for sacrifice.”

The first part of the Simon Necronomicon, after the Testimony of the Mad Arab is the GateWalking Process. The reference to the ‘dog’ is a description of one has not been initiated or recognized as a man until he has reached Adar and has been accepted by the Three Great Watchers. We will speak more on this later on in this discussion.

“And the Watcher aloft the Sword of Flames and even the Elder Gods are awed thereby.”

The next section in the Simon Necronomicon, after the GateWalking Process, is the Conjuration of the Fire God.

“And sometimes the Watcher appears as a Man in A long Robe, shaven, with eyes that never lose their stare”

After the Conjuration of the Fire God, the Conjuration of the Watcher follows, this would represent the rites of the Priest/Priestess working with the Watcher.

“And the Lord of the Watchers dwells, it is said, among the Wastes of the IGIGI, and only Watches and never raises the Sword or fights the idimmi, save when the Covenant is invoked by none less than the Elder Gods in their Council, like unto the Seven Glorious APHKHALLU.”

The Lord of the Watchers is Enki. Enki is given a correspondence to the IGIGI in the Supplementary Material to 777. The Covenant is invoked when we perform the workings in the Simon Necronomicon, as found in the Book of Calling.

“And sometimes the Watcher appears as the Enemy, ready to devour the Priest who has erred in the incantations, or omitted the sacrifice, or acted in defiance of the Covenant, for which acts the very Elder Gods cannot forbid that silent Race from exacting its toll.”

This would correspond to the workings of the MAGAN text where we are reminded that ‘the Priest will encounter ugly and horror, and their reasons. It is a silent race because it was built before Babylon and is only access through the Underworld, as it is no longer amongst the Land of the Living. The watcher appearing as the enemy is reference to the Maklu text also.

“And it is said that some of that Race lie waiting for the Ancient Ones to once more rule the Cosmos, that they may be given the right hand of honour, and that such as these are lawless. This is what is said.”

This is speaking about those who work with the Urilla text. It would seem then that the Watcher might just be the Priest/Priestess of the Necronomicon. Yet how could that be, when it is said that the Watcher comes from a race that is different than that of Man?

It is not anything new to ponder whether or not the Watcher, or Race of Watchers, were actually men. Notice the quote below:

““The Chaldeans exercised themselves most especially with astronomy, and attributed all things to the movement of the stars, believing that whatever is in the world is governed by forces encompassed in numbers and numerical proportions… seeking out the numerical arrangement according to the cycles of the Sun and Moon, the planets, and the fixed stars… .” – Philo, on Abraham

The parallels between the Watchers and the Chaldeans become greater still, when viewed in the light of a tradition cited by Eusebius, which said: “Abraham traced his ancestry to the giants. These dwelt in the land of Babylonia. Because of their impiety, they were destroyed by the gods.” So there you have it. These two traditions (of the Watchers and of the Chaldeans) sound so identical because they are identical – one and the same. Were the Chaldeans the descendants of the Watchers, and executors of their tradition? Such an idea is certainly reinforced by the fact that the Hebrew word for “Watcher” is “Ir”, which sounds the same as “Ur.” And the Watchers were called “the watchers of the heavens”, a very appropriate title for a people (like the Chaldeans) so preoccupied by astronomy. Could it be that Ur was the primordial city-state of the Watchers? It is very possibly. Ur is considered so ancient that to the modern mind it has become synonymous with antiquity itself. All of this would appear to suggest that Abraham’s status as a Chaldean from Ur may well be one of the most telling anomalies in the Old Testament. It also seems that Abraham is far more than merely a man who “traced his ancestry to the giants.” Remember, it was said that “Abraham excelled all in nobility and wisdom.” In ancient times “nobility” didn’t refer to a man’s demeanor – it meant of noble birth. And as we will ultimately reveal, the figure known as Abraham was of very noble birth indeed.”

We also find suggestions that the Watchers were “trans-human” in the Simon Necronomicon. On page 12 of the Simon Necronomicon it states: “the first is the Sign of our Race from beyond the Stars, and is called the ARRA.” Earlier in our posts, we discussed the ARRA sign as being a symbol of those who were of noble birth. Later we were to discover that children who were conceived during the Sacred Marriage Rite were considered divine. It would seem as if these Rites continued on throughout the Ages for the Christ was also one of “noble” birth. While it may very well be possible that intelligent forces, which no longer possess human bodies could possess the body of either the man or the woman during the sexual act to induce the “Immaculate Conception.,” it should also be noted that the idea of the “Immaculate Conception” was symbolic of the Sacred Marriage Rite where INANNA had relations with the priestly rulers. It should also be taken into consideration that while we have discussed the actual history of the Sacred Marriage Rite as a tantric rite, it must also be understood that the definition of the Sacred Marriage Rite was in itself a symbol of those who were able to cross the bridge between the Tree of Life (masculine) and the Qliphotic Tree (woman). This would mean that the term Watcher denoted those ancient astrologists, and magicians, who were able to reach a new level of being through non-being, as they walked within the Qliphotic Tree. It is with this understanding that we are now able to explore the Book of Enoch with greater depth. Let us take a look at a passage in the Book of Enoch:

“Now the giants, who have been born of spirit and of flesh, shall be called upon earth evil spirits, and on earth shall be their habitation. Evil spirits shall proceed from their flesh, because they were created above; from the holy Watchers was their beginning and primary foundation. Evil spirits shall they be upon earth and the spirits of the wicked shall they be called. The habitation of the spirits of heaven shall be in heaven; but upon earth shall be the habitation of terrestrial spirits, who are born upon earth. The spirits of the giants shall be like clouds, which shall oppress, corrupt, fall, contend, and bruise upon earth. They shall cause lamentation. No food shall they eat; they shall be thirsty; they shall be concealed, and shall not rise up against the sons of men, and against women; for they come forth during the days of slaughter and destruction.”

This passage is also reflected upon in the Simon Necronomicon on page 162:

“THEY ARE THE GHOULS/ the spirit of the harlot that hath died in the streets/The spirit of the woman that hath died in childbirth/ The spirit of the woman that hath died weeping with a babe at the breast/ The spirit of an evil man/ one that haunteth the streets/ Or one that haunteth the bed./ They are Seven! Seven are they! These Seven were born in the Mountains of MASSHU/ Called Magick/ They dwell within the Caverns of the earth.”

The above passage indicates beyond the shadow of a doubt that the GateWalking initiation, as found in the Simon Necronomicon is indeed Qliphotic. It must be remembered that the rites of the Qliphotic tree are opposite the Tree of Life, and they are found in the Mountains of MASSHU.  We are late told in the MAGAN text that man is made from the Blood of Kingu, which would mean that he was developed in a feminine aspect, or the womb of creation. The War that occurs between the Elder Gods and the Ancient Ones is not a war in the terms of the good guys versus bad guys, for if one were to read the text literally they would find many contradictions. However, when the initiate is able to review the information in light of the Qliphotic Tree, we can appreciate that the struggle between the Ancient Ones and the Elder Gods is a metaphor  for those who have cultivated there divinity within the Qliphotic Tree and then rise up into the  world of illusion of Tree of Life. Kenneth Grant from his book The Nightside of Eden writes:

“Full magical initiation is not possible without understanding of the so-called qliphotic paths, which are, in practice, as real as the shadow of any object illuminated by the sun. In other words, the well-lit highways of Horus, the paths man has projected to connect the cosmic power-zones (sephiroth) with his own consciousness, have their counterparts in the Tunnels of Set, a dark web or nocturnal network of paths, the very existence of which is denied or ignored by those who are unable to realize the total truth of the Tree and its validity for those who would climb even its lower branches.

The mind is beguiled with the promise of ‘cosmic consciousnesses and the senses are lulled to sleep or bewitched by the constant reiteration that if we spread our wings and fly we shall attain to the topmost branches in the space of a single life-time. But do those who speak so glibly of enlightenment, and who brush aside with apparent  ease the averse sides of the power zones with which they boast familiarity, do they really imagine that one side only exists?”

We can now understand why it is said that the Elder Gods were said to be children of Tiamat, since the world that is manifested before us is made up of primal forces. Grant writes in the quote above that the ‘mind is lulled to sleep or bewitched by the promise of cosmic consciousness,’ or as one might say lulled to sleep by the world manifest, Dead but dreaming. This now gives us a deeper understanding of the MAGAN text, which also gives us a history of the tantric workings through the ages. Here is a summary of the history as described in the MAGAN Text:

The Qliphotic Tree as represented by Tiamat, is a current that is spiraling upward, creating the Elder Gods as it moves. The Elder Gods, predecessors to the ancient Chaldeans, suffered from the severity of the creation process, and as the phenomenal world began to take shape, creating the Tree of Life, a polarity was made between the two trees. It is written in the MAGAN text ’they disturbed TIAMAT, the Ancient One, as they surged back and forth. Yet those adepts who were able to weather the storm of walking still in the Qliphotic Tree were able to overcome the severity through magick and obtain Godhood.

Later, as the ancient rites became degraded through ignorance, the priestly class of Enki passed on some of the teachings to a new generation of Magicians, which were symbolized by MARDUK. MARDUK was a school of thought that was somewhat familiar with the Qliphotic tree, since he too was summoned from the Abyss. He took the Tablets of Destiny from the Ancient Ones by burying the original keys in the teachings of the solar rites. This made man unaware of his true self and a victim of his ego, as he now worked Magick from a perspective of the phenomenal world, which also represents the birth of the child in the mundane world. Those who represent the original rites of passage along the Qliphotic tree are described as the LOST ONES. These rites are kept secret and in dark esthetics, as there are misunderstood and kept underground. This method is also effective in keeping the profane away from the actual ancient rites. These were the rites that the ancient Chaldeans practiced in secret. They were the CHILDREN OF THE UNDERWORLD. This is why it is also written in the MAGAN text:

“With a gate to keep the Ancient Ones Without, / With a gate whose Key is hid forever/ Save to the Sons of MARDUK.”

This indicates that the Qliphothic tree can only be accessed once the initiate has proved his worthiness in the preliminary rites. This secret is revealed in the ‘Generations of Man’ section of the MAGAN text. It describes man’s ancestors as being the Ancient Ones., and also mentions that the Ancient Ones shall rule again. The next section of the MAGAN text features the formulae for initiation into the Qliphotic rites. This section is entitled the Sleep of ISHTAR. From the title of the text we can appreciate the comment made by Kenneth Grant earlier that man is asleep due to his lack of knowledge about the fullness of the Tree of Life. The text shows ISHTAR’S descent into the Qliphotic tree and rise from it as the execution of the false ego and the creation of true godhood begins. Grant states, in Nightside of Eden the following:

“He, the number five represents total manifestation; it is the glyph of Woman par excellence. Her formula is 15 (3 x 5). The symbolism of the Goddess Fifteen has been treated at length in the Trilogy. Here it suffices to draw attention to the identity of the Hand (as a figure of five), and the Eye, as the illuminator of the Void.”

The above passage indicates that once initiation has occurred through the rites of the Qliphotic tree, the inner “Eye” of illumination has developed and Godhood is achieved. This is revealed in a passage of the MAGAN text:

“INANNA AROSE…; The Eye upon the throne took flight.”

We can now understand the Mad Arab’s words, as found in the Urilla text:

“When the great KUTULU rises up and greets the Stars, then the War will be over, and the World be One.”

This indicates the answer to our original question; who is KUTULU?  We are. KUTULU. KUTULU is our dead self that has been captivated by the false ego of the phenomenal world. It is mentioned in the MAGAN text that man was created from the Blood of KINGU. KINGU was TIAMAT’S  consort after her husband APSU was slain. KINGU also represents the shadow side of MARDUK. We now come to a clearer understanding of the Mad Arab’s words, as found on page 6 of the Simon Necronomicon:

“I have traveled beneath the seas, in search of the Palace of Our master, and found the stone monuments of vanquished civilizations, and deciphered the writings of some of these; while still others remain mysteries to any man who lives. And these civilizations were destroyed because of the knowledge contained in the book.”

The Mad Arab speaks of these civilizations as if they had died because they could only be found in the workings of the Qliphotic tree. The Mad Arab received this knowledge while traveling on the Qliphotic Tree, also known as the Mountains of MASSHU. This path of initiation can only be successfully carried out by engaging the serpentine force, also known as KUTULU. KUTULU is the Watcher. It is our innermost self. This would explain why the Mad Arab on page 47 of the book, tell us to strike the Sword of the Watcher and then read how INANNA conquered the Underworld and vanquished KUTULU. This represents the great Tantric work of Sumeria. Raising up the serpentine force and that we were one dead to. The Simon Necronomicon in many of its passages uses the phrase “MAY THE DEAD RISE AND SMELL THE INCENSE.”  It is within the work of the Qliphotic tree, which are the same Primal forces we are warned about in Simon’s introduction, that we are able to gain true initiation granted by the Gods themselves. This initiation will be the subject of our next discussion.
