The Simon Necronomicon: A Spiritual Martial Art.

Greetings!

I would like to welcome everyone here to the Simon Necronomicon GateWalker’s Info Page.! If this is your first time visiting us, please take some time to review our previous pages to understand the place in the current discussion.

I would like to further expand on our recent discussion concerning the workings of the Simon Necronomicon as a spiritual system. I will answer some of the questions and opinions made concerning the topic herein by both Dan Harms and Venus Satanas. In an earlier post entitled The Simon Necronomicon as a Spiritual System author Dan Harms provided his definition of what a spiritual system is. Harms makes some interesting points within the confines of this definition. Harms also commented on my Interview With Historian Denny Sargent. I am sure that Harms is confident that he is indeed expressing a noble intention. However, Mister Dan Harms still has left a few open doors and questions concerning his own opinions by only focusing on certain sections of the Interview. For example Harms still hasn’t responded to Denny Sargent’s statement that reads as follows:

“..And I had and have utter respect for Simon a writer but also as a mage….My MA is focused on ancient history and I did a lot of my research on Egypt and Mesopotamia- so what I can say, as a historian, is that Simon’s work is BASED on Sumerian and other Mesopotamian magickal systems, images and incantations. It is my opinion that he was reviving a Sumerian magickal tradition within the ’schema’ of the Necronomicon- and maybe he (and Herman) figured that they could make some  $ as well…:)”

Here we see a perspective of a historian that does make note that the Simon Necronomicon is consistent with Ancient Sumerian and Mesopotamian  magickal systtems. Yet I would also like to remind the reader that this is an observation that is made by someone who is not a GateWalker, but has a strong foundation in ancient history and its magickal systems. Sargent does talk about the dangers of the system, but these dangers lie in any magickal system wherein the Initiate has not properly prepared themselves for the work.  In another recent post entitled The Simon Necronomicon the Method of Self-Initiation Into Enochian Magick we discover that it was Herman Slater’s idea and not Simon, to include some of the Lovecraft Mythologies into what is known today as the Simon Necronomicon. This would mean that Simon’s approach in writing the Simon Necronomicon was not with the intent to capitalize off of Lovecraft’s fame. This is the issue that Mister Dan Harms has to come to terms with. I am sure that Harms is trying to reach a “noble” conclusion for his own spiritual development that neither I, or anyone else can speak on. Harms has to do this within his own sacred confines, and by doing so Harms may be able to take the Dan Harms Machine into a greater place. Now let us look at another question from a Miss Venus Satanas.

Although Miss Satanas has falsely suggested that I deleted her post (view the comment in Dan Harms response The Simon Necronomicon as a Spiritual System, Part 2) with the following words:

“I took a chance that he would delete my post because I was direct with my questioning..”

I am curious as to why Miss Satanas would make such a statement. This is a very honest forum, which is why I have been open to answer all critical thoughts of any opinions expressed about information that is published here, whether it is Mister Dan Harms, Rev Xul, Dan Clore, John Gonce Wisdom III,  Andrew Pernick, or any other inhabitants of the New Age Arkham Asylum, that continues to threaten the peaceful community of GateWalkers for no reason at all by their unwarranted and unnecessary biased opinions.  Since Miss Satanas has expressed some doubt concerning the intentions of this page without reason, we will carefully comment on some of the staememtn that she has made, which can be viewed in the article Is The Dan Harms Machine Breaking Down?

Miss Venus Satanas has a very beautiful website, which one can view for themselves here- Venus Satanas Website. She provides her readers with very useful insights and it is an excellent source for anyone walking along the path of Indiviualistic Satanic thought. I first posted a link to Miss Venus Satanas website in my response to Harms in the article “Is the Dan Harms Machine Breaking Down?” to illustrate that their are individuals who have found spiritual refreshment in systems that do not completely match the criteria that Harms mentioned in his article. Yet she has been able to find a system of spirituality that may not be popular, but is still able to be a source of good encouragement and it is for this reason that I posted her link into my article. I actually enjoy her writings, yet her system does not fall into the confines of what Harms defines as spiritual.

Miss Venus Satanas made following comment in respone to my Is The Dan Harms Machine Breaking Down?:

“all you seem to be doing is chattering  about the idea and not presenting us with something real and useful. What would this system be like? What would it accomplish? enlighten us, please.”

I wonder if Miss Venus Satanas has read all of the material on the GateWalker’s Page for her to make the statement that we are not presenting anything “real” or and “useful?” Interesting. However, Miss Venus Satanas has asked a couple of questions that it would be very “useful” to look into.

First of all the true ancient concept of what spirituality would and would not accomplish is obscene. Spirituality is the study of natural principles and applying them in your life. It is not something that is separate of life. It is the study of life by understanding how the world of nature and the subtle energies of life move within the world and within our own being. What one gains from working with the Simon Necronomicon is based on ones’ intent with the system and this is true of all sysyems. I can relate the system that is found in the Simon Necronomicon, with others systems from Christianity to Yoruba, and other systems. The Simon Necronomicon is useful for transformation and alignment with the natural order of things. The rituals are based on the Moon Cycles, which cause an alignment to lunar, planetart, and stellar energies. Most GateWalkers experience a strong lucidity during the full moon and other moon phases naturally. The connection that the GateWalker has with the stars is a unique relationship within itself. Usually visions and dreams occur when certain stellar changes take place, and how it will effect your life.  The GateWalker is thereby able to make a petition to the natural starry forces and make a more good outcome of  what has been shown to them or accept what has been shown to them. This relationship with the deities in the Simon Necronomicon works in two way. it first exposes certain flaws of the Initiate’s persona, and by doing so, it shows how the Initiate may be blocked from a certain goal in life due to a certain activity or addiction. The Initiate is then given the emotional perspective of how such action is inappropriate and by correcting it other aspects of life are opened up to that individual. So it does help in transforming the person. Yet this is where the system can be dangerous. I have witnessed people who have attempted to use the system with the wrong intent -go insane. This was due only to the fact that the Initiate’s pride, or false ego, would get in the way, and certain things that needed to be corrected were just swept underneath the rug because they refused to see themselves operating in a way that was harmful to themselves or others. Yet they would continue to beckon upon the deities to grant them certain blessings. Since they could not except the their true nature that was being exposed to them, they were  consumed in that same pride. This is the curse of Enki, and this is why I stated earlier that each Initiate may get something different from the system because we all have different blockages in our live on our path to perfection that we have to personally work out. Secondly, the system is a great source of magickal power that can be worked to obtain many things when one has the proper perspective. Most GateWalkers have acquired different magickal gifts over time. yet by the time these gifts are obtained their intent on how they are used changes from one of selfishness to one of purity.

I have no issues with the system, nor I am trying to prove the value of the system to anyone. I have simply provided a resource for those who are uninitiated and newcomers unto this path. There are times where I may talk about “Mister Dan Harms” in a joking manner yet I still pray for Harms and his family (especially his younger brother) that they may be protected through such turbulent times. I look at the debates between Harms and I, as a sport that can also work as a resource of knowledge. I have even used some information from the Necronomicon Files, the writings of Dan Clore, and others opposed to the system, as resources for some of my informative blogs concerning the system itself.

I have stated that the Simon Necronomicon is a martial art because of its structure. Once one has been mentored by an older GateWalker they may use their magickal art in a way that is different than another GateWalker, yet they are still honoring the Necronomicon Tradition and are a part of a rare heritsge. The GateWalker is one who has obtained a personal relationship with the deities that are written about and studied by anthropologist and scholars. Therefore, the GateWalking Community is like a family of brothers and sister and the parents are the deities. This being the case, one GateWalker may differ in their experience with a particular deity than another GateWalker may have, but these are things concerning ones intergration of their personal experience with the deity that is different than another GateWalker. It is like a brothers’ and sisters’ opinoon of the parent in question- while it may be somewhat different they still repect the parental authority that the parent has and know how some of the parent’s attributes are seen in their own lives since they are progeny of them. We have been able to provide insights on the GateWalker’s Page about the Sumerian and Mesopotamian deities that is not found in books but it is still consistent with the ancient mythologies due to such.

Although some may consider themselves “critics” of our heritage, the GateWalking Community still falls under the western definition of a religious system. Wikipedia gives us the following definition on the term Religion.

“a religion is an organized approach to human spirituality which usually encompasses a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices, often with a supernatural or transcendent quality, that give meaning to the practitioners experiences of life through reference to a higher power, God or gods, or ultimate truth.”

Practitioners of the Simon Necronomicon fall directly under this definition. I am of the personal belief that the Simon Necronomicon has been attacked over recent years due to the grimoire’s power. In some aspects the work of individuals like Dan Harms, work in a beneficial way since it deters the ignorantly-curious from working with such a powerful work and that could injure a person who is not reponsible in the Necronomicon Tradition. I often liken the work of the GateWalker to the Ninja as seen in the movie Shinobi and I encourage every GateWalker to view this film because it shows how a group with real magickal power can be feared and why. So work in a responsible way.

KEYS OF THE ANCIENT ONES PART 4: The Philosophy of Evil

Greetings!

I am delighted that you have taken the time to review this writing, for it is indeed rare knowledge even amongst those who have a deep level of occult knowledge. The workings and rituals found in the Simon Necronomicon are the most ancient of all, and even predate Enochian Magick. The writers of the Simon Necronomicon were inspired by a template left by Aleister Crowley. The name Crowley appears thirty-nine times in the Tome’s Introduction. This is the same amount of times that the word “messiah” appears in the Hebrew Scriptures of the Christian Bible. The struggles between various facets of the O.T.O. caused some members to hold on to what personal writings they had of Crowley, and this was the foundation of what would later be known as the Simon Necronomicon. This would also explain the relationship that the Simon Necronomicon has with various different systems that Crowley was involved in, among these are Enochian Magick, Hinduism, Tantra, the workings of the Yezidis, and the list goes on. Yet the Rites of the Simon Necronomicon is still one of a closed system.

The Simon Necronomicon includes a unique process of self-initiation for all those who aspire to work the Rites contained in the text. We often refer to this process as GateWalking. After conjuring the Fire God, the Watcher, the Four Watchtowers, and reciting various exorcisms, the Initiate performs the Initiatory Walking of the Gate. The Initiate may remain in a Gate for a month or two and then move on to the next Gate. These Gates correspond to the Seven Spheres that the known Seven Planets represent. These are NANNA (Moon), NEBO (Mercury), ISHTAR (Venus), SHAMMASH (Sun), NERGAL (Mars), MARDUK (Jupiter), and ADAR (Saturn). The Spheres that these planets represent, refer to certain constellations of the Zodiac, that in the initiatory process, are entered in a pattern that is opposite the Sun’s movement through the Zodiac. The chart below illustrates this well:

NANNA = Cancer

NEBO     = Gemini

ISHTAR  =  Taurus

SHAMMASH = Leo, (the divider between the inner and outer planets)

NERGAL = Aries

MARDUK = Pisces

ADAR      = Aquarius

The Initiate moving though the path of the Zodiac is the noise that awakened Apsu. Notice what is mentioned in the MAGAN Text:

“They disturbed TIAMAT, the Ancient One, as they surged back and forth.
Yea, they troubled the belly of TIAMAT
By their Rebellion in the abode of Heaven.
ABSU could not lessen their clamour
TIAMAT was speechless at their ways.
Their doings were loathsome unto the Ancient Ones.”

The above passage indicates that these Initiatory workings were considered to be evil, not evil in themselves, but a path that did not follow that of the ordered universe. The passage above describing the Elder Gods moving through the Zodiac in a path that is converse to that of the Sun, metaphorically describes the evolution of the Initiate. This is where the inner wisdom must be applied to the Ancient Arcana. The term “evil” in the Dark Tradition means to evolve. Thus, the “evil” that occurred in the Heavens was a metaphor for evolving ideas and philosophy, as well being. It is sad how the uninitiated, even when seeing the term “evil” amongst ancient texts will interpret this term to mean something bad, or disgusting. Some who attempt to follow these traditions, have gotten stuck on so-called “evil” esthetics and will surround themselves with others who adore the dark imagery as a way of hiding their own mental illness

The work of true evolution was thus kept in secret for only a few could obtain it.  This is due to the fact that “Man” was created to fulfill needs of the planets, yet “Man” is deceived into thinking that he is the epitome of creation. While the MAGAN Text poetically illustrates the process of initiation, it is very clear that the primordial rites that are found in the Urilla Text are the most ancient. Notice what is written by the Mad Arab in the Urilla Text:

“THE following is the Text of URILIA, the Book of the Worm. It contains the formulae by which the wreakers of havoc perform their Rites. These are the prayers of the ensnarers, the liers-in-wait, the blind fiends of Chaos, the most ancient evil.”

When reviewing the above passage, as it appears in the URILLA Text, we see that the Rites of TIAMAT are the most transforming part of our evolutionary process, or the most ancient evil.  It is indeed a privilege to be in the service of the Elder Gods and it is from our service to them that the deeper secrets concerning the Dark Tradition are taught. The understanding of this is fact is of most vital importance! No ritual or working can actually teach the Initiate the deeper things of the Dark Tradition. This understanding must come from the very same forces that are revered in the working.

One of the great secrets of the Simon Necronomicon is that the deities representing the Gates are somewhat “solar” and on some levels the battle between TIAMAT and MARDUK represents the plight of the Solar Path. It is good for the Initiate to work with the “light” energies that exist in the Qliphotic Tree of Transformation. This is a very key point in understanding the workings of the Dark Tradition which takes us to a very unique passage in the Second Testimony of the Mad Arab:

“And who is their Master? Of this I do not know, but I have heard them calling ENKI which is surely a blasphemy, for ENKI is of our Race as it is writ in the Text of MAGAN. But, perhaps, they called Another, whose Name I do not know. But surely it was not ENKI.”

According to the above passage the Mad Arab also witnessed the Ancient Ones’ calling ENKI. ENKI is the guardian of the pathways, and this works on both an inner and outer level. First, we would want to consider that the war of the Elder Gods versus the Ancient Ones, or the Old Gods fighting the Younger Gods, is a Babylonian idea. Within the mythologies of the Sumerians, human beings were created by ENKI based on instructions given to him by his Mother NAMMU (the Babylonian TIAMAT). It should also be noted that the Ancient Sumerians associated ENKI with the planet Mercury. NEBO was placed as the god of the Sphere of Mercury by the Babylonians. When the Babylonians placed NEBO amongst the planetary deities, they transferred some of the qualities that are associated with ENKI to NEBO. In the Simon Necronomicon we find that NEBO is called the “guardian of the gods.” This has two meanings. Its first application would be to those who have just begun Walking this Path. NEBO will either allow one passage through the Spheres or send them into a state of confusion, where they think they are Walking along the path, but are not. This is why I always mention to other Initiates of the system to check their findings and what the inner voice is telling them by way of epiphany with the ancient myths. The information that you are being told in the mind should align with the nature of the deity in ancient myths about the said god or goddess.

ENKI is also “a guardian of the gods.” He is the one who decides as to whether one can grow into the path of the Ancient Arcane Faith, or whether they are to remain in service to the Gate Deities. This is a very important point to understand. See the Dark Tradition cannot be entered until one has Walked with the “light” gods, even if a person is believed to be called to Darkness, they must first be initiated regardless. The Dark Tradition of the Ancient Ones is a path of purity. The solar aspects of this work burn the impurities of the spirit away then, ENKI will decide whether or not the Initiate is to move on into the Teaching of the Ancient Arcane Faith.

The system of self-initiation, as found in the Simon Necronomicon is a Tantric Rite. It is the Sacred Marriage Rite. This alchemical marriage serves in fully uniting the Initiate with the Watcher. Since ENKI is the ‘Lord of the Watchers’ that dwells amongst the IGIGI, he is able to determine how well this bond is yoked together. Once this bond has occurred we are then able to return to the Womb of Creation and be reborn as an immortal being. This is expressed by the Mad Arab in the following words:

“And for that reason, the fearful utukku xul take possession of the body and dwell therein until the Priest banish them back to whence they came, and the normal spirit may return to its erstwhile neighbourhood.”

See in our process of self-initiation, the GateWalker becomes aware of the inner demons that dwell within since birth. Awareness of our imperfections is enough to weaken our faults, yet they will always be a part of the mechanical makeup of our emotional and mental machines. Only the Mother can heal us. Notice what the Mad Arab states in the Book of Black Earth:

“And a man may cry out, what have I don’t, and my generation that such evil shall befall me? And it mean nothing, save that a man, being born, is of sadness, for he is of the Blood of the Ancient Ones, but has the Spirit of the Elder Gods breathed into him. And his body goes to the Ancient Ones, but his mind is turned towards the Elder Gods, and this is the War which shall be always fought, unto the last generation of man; for the World is unnatural. When the Great KUTULU rises up and greets the Stars, then the War will be over, and the World be One.”

This is a very interesting passage for it reveals that regardless of how many Gates we have Walked, or if we are living everyday life, we will never understand the world or have true inner peace if we have not become acquainted with the source of all things, the Mother-TIAMAT. TIAMAT gives us the Tablets of Destinies that allows us to no longer be subjugated to our inner demons but to employ them in a useful manner. Until this process occurs we will always be at war with ourselves since we have not accepted the demonic aspect of our makeup. Once the transformation occurs we are at peace within ourselves and without. The Crown of Anu is the epitome of all mystical teachings. It is called the Philosophy of Evil. The Philosophy of Evil is a great mystical writing that can only be accessed within the realms of TIAMAT, the Mother. It is in these realms that we learn the true meaning of the Black Flame.

THE BLACK FLAME

The Black Flame is one of the greatest esthetics held within the Tradition of the Ancient Ones. When we really reflect on the Mad Arab’s words quoted above we begin to see how the world is unnatural. When we first arrive upon this physical plane of existence, we are born as children. We are in some ways able to observe the lies told to us by the symbols of the Solar Path, the first being the Sun. The Sun provides life-giving energy for the inhabitants of the planet Earth. Yet the Sun is also the greatest of liars. The Sun makes the shy appear blue. The Sun appears to rise and set. From our observations of the Sun’s movements we learn that since the Solar Path is filled with illusions, it must serve a purpose that is two-fold. While the Sun provides life-giving energy to creation here on Earth, it does so at a cost. The Sun’s characteristics are explained in many of the legends and myths concerning the Sun Gods, Buhhda, Khrishna, and Jesus are among these. All of these Sun Gods are also called Shepherds. The Good Shepherd is a symbol of the Sun. The Good Shepherd, like the Sun, provides its sheep with life-giving food, and protects the sheep. However, the Good Shepherd will eventually take the sheep to the slaughterhouse.  It is the same with the Sun. We are able to get food and protection from the Sun. Yet in our older years the Sun begins to rob the body of its vital force and it does this in two ways. Have you ever notice that when you are in the Sun too long you begin to feel drained? Isn’t it the same feeling as when you are stressed emotionally? See the Sun that provides life-giving energy and eventually drains it in our adult years. The Sun does this in the same manner that a Shepherd may use his crook to lead the sheep to a slaughterhouse. In this case, the Shepherd’s Crook is symbolized by the planets. The reflection of the Sun’s light from the Seven Planets, creates situation in our day-to-day lives and also on a community level. These situations create stressful conditions to various degrees. Sometimes we find ourselves being angry, happy, sad, and etc. The shift from one mood to the next causes us to bleed life-energy and this is how the Sun and the planet feed themselves. Think for a second, if you can feel anger and I can fell anger, anger is not who we are though we possess the capacity for expressing it. Anger is a Martian energy or the energy of Nergal. When we begin Walking the Gates we are asked to first summon the Watcher. The Watcher is our dead self a counterpart of ourselves that exists in the stellar regions. When we summon the Watcher, the Watcher is able to observe our emotional changes just as clearly as we observe changes in the phenomenal world. Yet the watcher has not fully awakened from its slumber. As we ascend the Ladder of Lights, the Watcher that was once dead in us becomes stronger. Eventually the Watcher becomes the most prominent aspect of our being, overshadowing the emotional and physical part of the human machine. We are stripped naked in the Gate of Adar, so that we can merge with the Watcher. This is why Simon has often used Tantric analogies when speaking about the Simon Necronomicon because it is the Sacred Marriage Rites between our vessel and our Watcher. The Watcher would then represent the Black Flame. It is a Black Flame because can function and remain alive regardless of the outer changes that are occurring in the phenomenal world. Being able to see these changes on stellar and mental levels allows our Watcher-Self to become stronger. This is why the workings in the URILLA Text are to be performed without summoning the Watcher. The Ancient One is the Initiate who has gotten to a level where they understand themselves to be the Watcher. Notice what the Mad Arab says:

“And sometimes the Watcher appears as the Enemy, ready to devour the Priest who has erred in the incantations, or omitted the sacrifice, or acted in defiance of the Covenant, for which acts the very Elder Gods cannot forbid that silent Race from exacting its toll. And it is said that some of that Race lie waiting for the Ancient Ones to once more rule the Cosmos, that they may be given the right hand of honour, and that such as these are lawless. This is what is said.”

The Mad Arab mentions how the Watcher is ready to slay the priest who has acted in defiance of the Covenant. This means that once the Sacred Union between the Priest and the Watcher has occurred and they have entered the Womb of Creation once again, there is no turning back. How could there be? Yet when this Union does occur the Watcher is given the right hand of honor, or rules our being and its emotional and mental aspects. This is when the world of darkness also becomes the world of light. Earlier we spoke about the illusion that the Sun casts. We will now consider another Solar illusion.

The Sun makes the sky appear blue. This is actually the first lie told to man. So from the perspective of the Dark Tradition, it is the Solar Rites that are in opposition to the Truth. This would include all Solar Faiths, such as Christianity, Islam, and etc. The next illusion we learn of the Solar faiths can be determined by the Sun’s appearance. The Sun appears to be powerful, but even Suns die. The light of the Sun is still limited to time and space, and more importantly the light of a Sun can only be seen in a world of darkness. This is quite contrary to the Dark Tradition. The Black Flame can only be seen in a world of light that from an inner place. Darkness is not confined by the veils of time, it always is. Darkness is eternal. Immortality can only be found along the Dark Path. Notice what is mentioned in the URILLA Text when opening the gate of the Ancient Ones:

“I receive the Sun at night and the Moon by day.”

The Black Flame is an Inner Flame that shines brightly in a world of light. This world of light represents the purity of our mental and emotional being. This is not a moral purity but a purity that is a result of our non-identification with thoughts and emotions that pass through us as a result of living in this world. We are not those things though they reside in the human machine we are anchored in. we receive the Sun at night because we are able to cast our will upon the world and the day-to-day world reflects our truest desires. So we find that we can create our world. The Moon reflects the Light of our Inner Sun during the waking state, so it is said that we receive the ‘Moon by day.’ Yet I would like to caution all, because there are some out there who would just like to rush through the Walkings to get to a place of enlightenment via ritual, and that is a farce. The Dark tradition is something that the Initiate must be invited to. It is not obtain through ritual itself. It is said in the writings of the Philosophy of Evil that “a man or a woman cannot see darkness until they have looked within themselves, then they can see all that is and all that will be.” Therefore, it is important for us to take the preliminary steps first. We must Walk the Gates prior to working with the URILLA Text.

OPEN LETTER TO DAN HARMS PART 12: DISCOVERING THE REALITY OF AZAG-THOTH FROM THE ERRORS OF JOHN WISDOM GONCE AND DAN HARMS

Greetings!

I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone here. It has certainly been quite a learning experience and quite a bit of research in maintaining this blog page. Some of our regular readers are more than familiar with the debates that Dan Harms and myself have had for the past year or so. Websites like Mythostomes have stated the following in review of the GateWalker’s Page:

http://www.mythostomes.com/component/option,com_weblinks/catid,40/Itemid,23/

A Necronomicon believer blog, featuring copious amounts of information for believers in Simon’s book. Not to be confused with “Papers Falling From an Attic Window,” a skeptical blog. The two blogs seem to have an… interesting relationship.”

I must say that I have learned quite a bit of information from our debates. It is useful in a sense because I had to go into researching areas that I might have not investigated if it weren’t brought up by Harms. Although some of our debates have gotten into an exchange of words at times, I still have a great respect for the authors of the Necronomicon Files committee. John Wisdom Gonce III is a Reiki Master, like myself, and for those who are not familiar with Reiki there are five principles that must be maintained, so I know that for the most part they are working from a somewhat sincere perspective. Yet sincerity alone is not enough when it comes to getting to a core understanding of the Ancient Necronomicon Tradition and its Mesopotamian roots. Research is involved and a comparative mind is more than necessary in determining what is actually real from what is symbolic. However, while research is essential in the field of anthropology and occult history, these  things in themselves are not enough, and this is one fallacy in the western world of occultism. John Wisdom Gonce III , who is a practicing Occultist, should be well aware that an individual’s emotional state has an effect on the outcome of one’s magic. This would also apply in our research of the ancient occult practices of Ancient Mesopotamia. If the student has not taken the time to employ the same rituals that were used by the peoples of Ancient Mesopotamia, he or she, will be completely unable to understand the emotional perspective of these people. This is why Dan Harms and John Wisdom Gonce III are not able to understand the Simon Necronomicon Tradition and can make no valid argument or critique against it to a fellow practitioner of the Simon Necronomicon. This is the very same reason why anthropologists and scholars, who have spent a tremendous amount of time and effort in uncovering a most priceless treasure, can only theorize and toss around ideas and possible perspectives of the ancient world, but no solid facts on how ancient people viewed life. Keeping this is mind let us review a recent comment left on the Gatewalker’s Page by Mister Dan Harms, which could be found here:

http://warlockasylum.wordpress.com/2009/02/23/open-letter-to-dan-harms-part-10-the-sacred-necronomicon-tradition/

“Third, your assertion that I was implying that our knowledge of Sumer was now complete is completely off-base. I never said anything of the sort, and I certainly would know better than to say anything like it. The study of Mesopotamian religion is ongoing, and it is likely to have surprises for all of us – but we certainly know more about it than the people Simon used to write about it.”

Upon reading the above words, I thought to myself that is it worth responding to. Dan Harms has never really understood the Simon Necronomicon Tradition, which is why Gonce and himself call it a hoax. EVERY PRACTITIONER OF THE SIMON NECRONOMICON KNOWS THAT IT IS NOT A BOOK THAT LOVECRAFT WAS TALKING ABOUT! Simon himself states this in the Introduction of the Simon Necronomicon under the subheading The Mythos and the Magick:

While the latter was a sophisticated psychological structure, intended to bring the initiate into contact with his higher Self, via a process of individuation that is active and dynamic (being brought about by the “patient” himself) as opposed to the passive depth analysis of the Jungian adepts, Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos was meant for entertainment.”

Simon’s words clearly define that Lovecraft’s work is indeed fiction and that Lovecraft’s works are for entertainment purposes only. Therefore, we know as practitioners of the Simon Necronomicon that this idea of a discovery of a Necronomicon is also fictional. However, we are also able to appreciate that the Simon Necronomicon is a grimoire that is a collection of  ancient incantations that actually existed in Mesopotamia. The work of the Simon Necronomicon was not put together by those who were just only studious, but adepts in Egyptian, Enochian, and Sumerian sources. If one were to look back upon my initial argument with Harms, they could easily see that no one here at the GateWalker’s Page were ever of the opinion that the Simon Necronomicon was discovered, but was inspired through the craftsmanship of Aleister Crowley, Eliphas Levi, Kenneth Grant, John Dee, and even Afro-Atlantean sources.

Despite the difference between harms and myself, I must admit that the work of Gonce and Harms as “agitators” in the Simon Necronomicon Tradition is quite valuable because it allows the practitioner of the Simon Necronomicon to go even deeper, which is why I consider our debates a Gate for “divine forces” to intervene and new perspectives and facts are uncovered. These discoveries not only pertain to perspectives of Crowley, Levenda, or even Lovecraft himself, but open the door to understanding that even scholars were not able to obtain. I can only reflect upon an understanding of some information  written by Maurice Nicoll, a student of Gurdjeiff, who stated that if we confine reality to just that which can be touched by the five senses, then we must consider our dreams, emotions, and thoughts as unreal. Western science has not come to the realization that “occult science” is actually a study of our dreams, emotions, and thoughts, and is a way of measuring how these things effect “reality.”

Harms words clearly indicate that he and his staff have fallen into the error of believing that what is modern is advanced. He seems to insinuate that ‘we know more about Mesopotamia than Simon did’ because of some modern discovery. Yet what Harms has not recognized is that the more we discover about an ancient civilization that is highly advanced the more valuable it becomes, and human nature can at times cause even the most noble scholar to face things that go against the grain of his/her religion, view of history and etc. For example, reports from the American media and its entertainment can be quite deceiving. I remember as a youth when the media often portrayed the faces of Ancient Egyptian Kings as looking like George Washington and Christian ministers often described, “wicked Babylon’s” first ruler, ‘a descendant of Ham’ Nimrod as having African features. Today, it has been accepted that many of the Egyptian Dynasty rulers were Afro-Asiatic. Yet the image of Babylonian rulers are no longer clearly defined as ministers of the Christian Church  would have us think, since the area of where Babylon existed may have been where civilization began, or so scholars say. While these changes in the face of ancient cultures have revolved in a seemingly 100 years, many of today’s researchers still hold faith in what they read and do not look beyond the surface, and only accept as fact what a college graduate has to say, with no background check into this individual’s world view, which may affect how, he or she, is presenting this “scholarly” information. It is because of such that the debates between Dan Harms and me have indeed become an essential tool for the Occult student and his/her search for clarity. Dan Harms presents a fallacy that at times turns out to be a key in unlocking something greater, and while Dan Harms thinks that ‘we know more today than the writers of the Simon Necronomicon,’ he is quite wrong. The Simon Necronomicon is a “divine” book just like the Holy Bible and The Qu’ran.

Since Dan Harms believes that we know more today than the writers of the Simon Necronomicon (which is like saying that we know more today about the teaching’s of Jesus than the Bible writers do)then why did Dan Harms, John Wisdom Gonce III, and Dan Clore, make crucial errors in the Necronomicon Files. We have already dismissed the idea that the Simon Necronomicon is a hoax by just one simple passage in its Introduction.. However, Clore, Gonce, and Harms have made themselves appear to be the Three Stooges of the occult community by there critique of the Simon Necronomicon that were written about in the Necronomicon Files, notice what is stated on page 154:

Simon’s pseudo-Sumerian demon, Azag-Thoth (AzaThoth), never existed at all. While there was a hideous demon called Asag (Akkadian Asakku), Thoth is a Coptic version of the name of the Egyptian God Tehuti. Simon never explains how a Sumerian demon and an Egyptian God separated by hundreds of miles and years could have made such an unlikely fusion.”

Dan Clore erroneously decides to follow the steps of Gone and Harms, and develops a page for debunking “Fake Necronomicons.” (like Lovecraft made him the Keeper of the Tradition) which can be found here : http://www.geocities.com/soho/9879/necfake.htm where Clore states the following:

“Simon derives Azathoth from a compound AZAG-THOTH, where AZAG is indeed a Sumerian demon, and THOTH is the Coptic name for the Egyptian deity Tehuti. As to how this compound name could have come about, however, he gives us no clue. Nor does he tell us why it had never appeared in print before. “

Although these errors were made in ignorance  Dan Clore gives us no evidence as to how he knows that Simon got the term Azag-Thoth from AzaThoth, and like Harms he is not able to see how the Egyptian God Thoth could be connected to Mesopotamia.  Iwas surprised that neither Gonce, Harms, or Dan Clore even took the time to review history from the perspective of the relationship that Mesopotamia had with Egypt. One example of this relationship is found in the Bentresh-stela.

In the 4th Century bc, a group of priests at Karnak forge a stela to appear as being from some 800 years earlier, in the reign of Ramesses II. This probably in order to give it more authority. The content of the stela is more or less following:
Ramesses II married a princess in far off Bakhtan and she comes to Egypt as the Great Royal Wife Neferure. During a festival in Thebes, the king and queen learns that the sister of the princess, Bentresh, has fallen very ill in Bakhtan. The king sends his scribe Djeheutyemheb out there, and he reports back that the princess is possessed by an evil spirit.
Back at Thebes Ramesses consults Khonsu em-Waset Nefer-Hetep who approaches his other aspect of Khonsu pa-ir-sekher. The statue of this aspect of Khonsu is sent to Bakhtan and arrives there after seventeen months, and cures the princess Bentresh.
Instead of returning the statue of Khonsu pa-ir-sekher, the prince of Bakhtan keeps it for three years and nine months, until Khonsu appeared to him in a dream of in the form of a golden falcon, clearly stating that he wanted to return home. The statue is then returned to Egypt, laden with gifts for the Khonsu em-Waset Nefer-Hetep at Karnak
.

This information is covered in the book Chaldean Magic: Its Origin and Development on pages 31-34, yet  I guess this occurance between Mesopotamia and Egypt was overlooked by Dan harms and his staff since they believe that modern sources are more  accurate. Although this is a well known epic. What is even more interesting about the above account and Khonsu iare the words found in this online article found at this website: http://www.egyptianmyths.net/khonsu.htm

“Khonsu was a very old god of primitive times. Khonsu was associated with the moon and was considered a form of Thoth by the Thebens, and it was in Thebes that Ramses III built the “House of Khonsu in Thebes, Nefer-hetep”

This answers the question posed by Harms, Gonce, and Dan Clore Dan Harms is right. The work of uncovering Ancient Mespotamia is endless, and because of such we should not rule out the authenticity of the Simon Necronomicon as a grimoire corresponding to Ancient Mesopotamian practices. and rituals. It is alittle sad to see how a group of young people would just  make it a business of debunking Simon, when that time can be used for humanitarian purposes. The same indignation that John Wisdom Gone III, Dan Harms, and Dan Clore have expressed towards the Simon Necronomicon Tradition, is the same indignation that fueled the Witch burnings of the Inquisition in Europe. It is already evident that one member of the Necronomicon Files Staff is working with the authorities in occult crimes. This is a worthy thing. However, when we read the tone that was set in the book the Necronomicon Files, it sort of reminds us of the same innuendos that must of have been used against Witches just before the inquisition, which made a  horrific genocide allowable amongst the masses. The Simon Necronomicon is no more dangerous than the Bible The Qu’ran, or the works of Lovecraft. All of these writings affect our emotional state of being. If a person has a weak emotional constitution, these works can affect him if he/she allows it.

Although we have made quite a remarkable discovery today, we must keep in mind that Dan Harms, John Wisdom Gonce III, and DanClore are still our brethren in the great Necronomicon Tradition. Let us work earnestly in encouraging them to rise from the stricken condition that they are in. Doing so we not only experience the joy of sharing blessings with them, but we are also able to empower ourselves in the evolving work of being vessels for the divine. It is them we give honor.

Recent Updates for the Month of January

Greetings!

I know that some of our regular readers may have noticed that we have not posted up any new articles over the past few weeks. We have been busy working on updating the site, and I have also been preparing a book on the Simon Necronomicon. This book will also include a Sumerian healing method that is similar to Reiki.

I must also say that I was happy to see that there have been some new subscribers to the Correspondence Course. I must also make note that as we revise the Simon GateWalker’s Info Page, we will be removing some of the articles that are here listed, and just concentrate on the Basic meaning of the Simon Necronomicon. For those who are interested in the deeper aspects of The Book of Black Earth, such will be revealed as the Initiate travels through the Seven Initiatory Gates.

I would like to extend a great salutation to The Order of Necronomicon, as well as, Dan Harms, John Wisdom Gonce III, and Dan Clore, for their participation in one of the greatest occult debates in recent history. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to Denny Sergeant for his interview, along with Adept Edumpanna. I would also like to send a warm salutation to David Stolowitz, who has been a frequent commenter on the Page. I would like to send a big salutation to my family, my lovely soul mate, and our children, and to all who I have mentored and to my many mentors. I appreciate all who have faithfully walked and opposed the Necronomicon Path, as it has helped everyone in the work of evolving and sharpening the craft of Necronomics. I must also state the according to the Necronomicon Tradition, our New Year starts during the spring equinox, not January first. However, it is a great time for getting together with family and friends, so be good and be safe.

I would like to state that the Necronomicon Page is looking to appoint our annual GateWalker of the Year Award. So if you are aware of someone that you feel deserves this award, and know of someone who has contributed to the Necronomicon Tradition, whether it be someone such as the authors of the Necronomicon Files, or The Order of Necronomicon, and etc, then please email me at warlockasylum@gmail.com Remember to title the email GateWalker of the Year. It doesn’t matter if the individual has walked the Gates or not. What matter is their contribution to the Tradition.
