KEYS TO THE ANCINET ONES PART 12: ISHNIGARRAB

Greetings!

I would like to welcome everyone to the Simon Necronomicon GateWalker’s Page. If this your first time here, we do ask that you review some of our previous discussion in order to gain a clear insight into our current discussion.

Lately, we have been reviewing the Path of the Ancient Ones. After discussing AZAG-THOTH,  I thought it would be good to cover another entity in the Simon Necronomicon workings. We find Simon makes an interesting comparison in his introduction of the SN, under the subheading Sumeria:

“There is a seeming reference to SHUB NIGGURATH in the NECRONOMICON, in the name of a Sumerian deity, the “Answerer of Prayers”, called ISHNIGARRAB. The word “Shub” is to be found in the Sumerian language in reference to the Rite of Exorcism, one of which is called Nam Shub and means “the Throwing”. It is, however, as yet unclear as to what the combination SHUB ISHNIGARRAB (SHUB NIGGURATH) might actually mean.”

Here Simon makes mention of a SHUB NIGGURATH as being called ISHNIGARRAB in the Simon Necronomicon. Before we begin defining just who ISHNIGARRAB is, it would be useful to look at how this entity appears in the Simon Necronomicon.

Different than AZAG-THOTH, we find that ISHNIGARRAB appear later in the Tome. The first mention of ISHNIGARRAB, is in the INVOCATION OF THE SHAMMASH GATE:

“ISHNIGARRAB is scorched black by Thy rays”

We come to the term ISHNIGARRAB again in the Book of Calling, as it appear in the INVOCATION OF THE NORTH GATE:

“Be thou most vigilant against the UTUKKI of TIAMAT
The Oppressors of ISHNIGARRAB”

In the above quote, we can safely assume that ISHNIGARRAB is a controlling force, as this entity is able to send out oppressors..

We later see a reference  to this mysterious entity in the MAGAN Text:

“AZAG-THOTH screamed upon his throne
CUTHALU lurched forth from his sleep
ISHNIGARRAB fled the Palace of Death”

Here we also can see another aspect of ISHNIGARRAB as being an occupant of the Palace of Death. Amazingly, we so no reference to ISHNIGARRAB in the URILLA Text.  However, we do find two references in the Second Testimony of the Mad Arab:

“And I have seen them in their Rites, and the awful Things they call forth from the Lands beyond Time. I have seen the Signs carved upon their stones, their altars. I have seen the Sign of PAZUZU, and ZALED, and those of XASTUR and AZAG-THOTH, and similarly those of ISHNIGARRAB and the awful Offspring of the Goat, and the terrible musicks of their Race.”

“Seek ever to hold back the Powers of the Cults of the ancient Worship, that they might not grow strong on their blood, and on their sacrifice. By their wounds shall ye know them, and by their smell, for they are not born as men, but in some other fashion; by some corruption of seed or spirit that has given them other properties than those we are familiar with. And they like the Dark Places best; for their God is a Worm.

IA! SHADDUYA IA! BARRA! BARRA! IA KANPA! IA KANPA!
ISHNIGARRAB! IA! NNGI IA! IA!”

In the Mad Arab’s Second Testimony, we get a fuller description of ISHNIGARRAB. We find that the entity is listed amongst the Ancient Ones and is also associated with the ‘Goat.” Simon made mention, earlier in his analysis of the term ISHNIGARRAB, that it means “answerer of prayers.” This is a very interesting aspect to consider and one that we will discuss in further detail later. Simon also makes it clear that ISHNIGARRAB is a reference to SHUB NIGGURATH. With this in mind, it would be useful for us to turn to the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Wikipedia gives us a simple yet clear definition of Shub Niggurath, as the entity appears in the works of Lovecraft:

“Shub-Niggurath, often associated with the phrase “The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young”, is a deity in the Cthulhu Mythos of H. P. Lovecraft. The creature is sometimes referred to as “The Black Ram of The Forest With A Thousand Ewe”, lending a male gender to the Great Old One that is often thought of as female.

Shub-Niggurath is first mentioned in Lovecraft’s revision story The Last Test (1928); she is never actually described in Lovecraft’s fiction, but is frequently mentioned or called upon in incantations..,”

The definition that Wikipedia gives to SHUB NIGGURATH is one that makes the entity appear somewhat unisex. Yet, it is interesting to note what is mentioned later in the article:

“The revision story The Mound, which describes the discovery of an underground realm called K’n-yan by a Spanish conquistador, reports that a temple of Tsathoggua there “had been turned into a shrine of Shub-Niggurath, the All-Mother and wife of the Not-to-Be-Named-One. This deity was a kind of sophisticated Astarte, and her worship struck the pious Catholic as supremely obnoxious.”[7]

The reference to “Astarte”, the consort of Baal in Semitic mythology, ties Shub-Niggurath to the related fertility goddess Cybele, the Magna Mater mentioned in Lovecraft’s “The Rats in the Walls“, and implies that the “great mother worshipped by the hereditary cult of Exham Priory” in that story “had to be none other than Shub-Niggurath.

In the above quote we see an interesting correlation between SHUB NIGGURATH and the fertility goddess Cybele.  This gives us a deeper aspect of SHUB NIGGURATH’S character. Now let us look on the history of the Goddess Cybele.

Originally a Phrygian goddess, Cybele, sometimes given the etymology “she of the hair” if her name is Greek, not Phrygian, but more widely considered of Luwian origin, from Kubaba; Roman equivalent: Magna Mater or “Great Mother”) was a manifestation of the Earth Mother goddess who was worshipped in Anatolia from Neolithic times. Like Gaia or her Minoan equivalent Rhea, Cybele embodies the fertile earth, a goddess of caverns and mountains, walls and fortresses, nature, wild animals (especially lions and bees). Her title “Mistress of the Animals” (potnia theron) which is also associated with the Minoan Great Mother, alludes to her ancient Paleolithic roots. She is a life-death-rebirth deity. Her consort, whose cult was introduced , is her son Attis. Cybele was supposed to have been born on Mount Ida in Asia Minor; this is the source of her epithet Idaea.

Cybele’s most ecstatic followers were males who ritually castrated themselves, after which they were given women’s clothing and assumed female identities, who were referred to by contemporary commentator Callimachus in the feminine Gallai, and who other contemporary commetators in ancient Greece and Rome reffered to as Gallos or Galli. Her priestesses led the people in orgiastic ceremonies with wild music, drumming, dancing and drink. She was associated with the mystery religion concerning her son, Attis, who was castrated and resurrected. The dactyls were part of her retinue. Other followers of Cybele, Phrygian kurbantes or Corybantes, expressed her ecstatic and orgiastic cult in music, especially drumming, clashing of shields and spears, dancing, singing and shouts, all at night.

I found an interesting reference in the book entitled, The Two Babylons By Alexander Hislop. On page  102 it states the following in reference to the “sacred goose of Brahma”

“Before our Lord was conceived or born, that very day now set down in the Popish calendar for the Annuciation of the Virgin” was observed in Pagan Rome in honour of Cybele, the Mother of the Babylonian Messiah…,”

We can clearly see reference to Cybele here also as the Mpther of the Gods. The old holiday of the Church that is being referred to in the quote above is Lady-Day, or the Day of Conception of the Christ-child, being March 25th. Nine months later would December 25th, the celebrated birth of the Sun, or the Christ.

The information that we have just covered definitely gives us some clarity about SHUB NIGGURATH’S character, being none other than ISHTAR in her exalted form, also known as TIAMAT. This aspect of TIAMAT would relate also to LILITH.  However, there is something else that we sgould consider before we can make such an assumption.

The CHART OF COMPARISONS gives SHUB NIGGURATH the following correspondence:

Shub Niggurath             Pan             Sub Ishniggarab (?)

Let us look a little further to see why Simon lists Pan as relative to SHUB NIGGURATH.

Although Shub-Niggurath is often associated with the epithet “The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young”, it is possible that this Black Goat is a separate entity. Rodolfo Ferraresi, in his essay “The Question of Shub-Niggurath”, says that Lovecraft himself separated the two in his writings, such as in “Out of the Aeons” (1935 in literature The year 1935 in literature involved some significant events and new books.Events*Penguin Books publishes the first “paperback” book.*W….) in which a distinction is made between Shub-Niggurath and the Black Goat — the goat is the figurehead through which Shub-Niggurath is worshipped. In apparent contrast to Shub-Niggurath, the Black Goat is sometimes depicted as a male, most notably in the rite performed in “The Whisperer in Darkness.”

The Whisperer in Darkness is a short story by H. P. Lovecraft. Written February-September 1930 in literature, it was first published in Weird Tales, August 1931 in literature….” (1931) in which the Black Goat is called the “Lord of the Woods”. The Black Goat may be the personification of Pan.

Pan , in Ancient Greek religion and Greek mythology, is the companion of the nymphs, god of shepherds and flocks, of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music…., since Lovecraft was influenced by Arthur Machen

Arthur Machen was a leading Wales author of the 1890s. He is best known for his influential supernatural fiction, fantasy fiction, and horror fiction….The Great God Pan

The Great God Pan is a novella written by Arthur Machen. The original story was published in 1890 in literature, and Machen revised and extended it in 1894….

(1890 in literature-The year 1890 in literature involved some significant new books….), a story that inspired Lovecraft’s “The Dunwich Horror.”

“The Dunwich Horror” is a short story by H. P. Lovecraft. Written in 1928 in literature, it was first published in the April 1929 in literature issue of Weird Tales ….The year 1929 in literature involved some significant events and new books….). In this incarnation, the Black Goat may represent Satan. Satan is a term that originates from the Abrahamic religions, being traditionally applied to an angel in Judeo-Christian belief, and to a Genie in Islamic belief…. in the form of the satyr.

In Greek mythology, satyrs are a troop of male companions of Pan and Dionysus ? “satyresses” were a late invention of poets ? that roamed the woods and mountains…., a half-man, half-goat. In folklore, the satyr symbolized a man with excessive sexual appetites. The Black Goat may otherwise be a male, earthly form of Shub-Niggurath — an incarnation she assumes to copulate with her worshipers.

Some of this information may be a little perplexing at first, since the Black Goat can refer to a male or female  entitly. However, this can easily be clarified when we look into what the B;ack Goat is-THE BAPHOMET.

The Baphomet is the Goat of Mendes. Interestingly, the term Baphomet has been considered a corrupt rendering of the name Muhammad by some scholars. The origins of the “Goat of Mendes” can be traced back to Ancient Egypt. Goats and Rams were worshipped in many cities throughout Egypt thousands of years ago. The Goat is synonymous with Satanism. The horns represent the Horned Gods/Goddesses. Goats also symbolized fertility in many different cultures and times. The Goat as a symbol of fertility and focus of religious rites dates all the way back to Sumeria.

The Goat of Mendes

Ptah the Egyptian God of Magick, knowledge and wisdom (an alias of Satan) *became* the goat, and sometimes a ram in the city of Mendes where he was worshipped as such. The Goat/Ram of Mendes represented the “Ba” which was the Egyptian word for the “soul.” Ptah was considered to be a great magician and “Lord of the Serpents.”π

There are many false claims, based upon ignorance that the Goat was invented as a reaction to the “lamb” of xianity. The xian use of the lamb came much later and in truth is based upon the sign of Aries (The spring Easter lamb). A href=”http://www.exposingchristianity.com/”>Everything in xianity has been stolen and corrupted from religions preceding it. The Horned Goat is also directly of Enki (Satan). The constellation of the Horned Goat (Capricorn) is the time of the winter solstice, known as “The Southern Gate of the Sun.”  The Goat was known in early Babylonian times as the God  Ea  (Enki/Satan). Ea was known as  He of vast intellect and Lord of the Sacred Eye  protector of his people and the bringer and giver of knowledge and civilization to humanity. Represented as a snake, he ended up in the  Garden of Eden as the Snake in the tree of life, encouraging learning and knowledge rather than blissful ignorance.  Whenever Ea roamed the Earth, he took the form of a goat. Ea was considered the Father of Light” and his celebrations dating back to 15,000 B.C.E., were carried out wearing goat skins.

This ancient symbol can be invoked in the Simon Necronomicon as ISHNIGARRAB. A deity that relates highly to the Goddess that No One Worshippeths. Wikipedia also sheds further light on this subjest under the subheading of LILITH:

“In modern Luciferianism, Lilith is considered a consort of Lucifer and is identified with the figure of Babalon. She is said to come from the mud and dust, and is known as the Queen of the Succubi. When she and Lucifer mate, they form an androgynous being called “Baphomet” or the “Goat of Mendes,” also known in Luciferianism as the “God of Witches.””

In working with the Rites of the Simon Necronomicon, we find that ISHNIGARRAB is invoked for rejuvenation of poewer, as well as insights into the greater mysteries. It is usually the first Gate that one encounters among the astral gates that lie beyond. It can also be used  in the same manner that the Initiate of the Simon Necronomicon would invoke a succubus.

KEYS TO THE ANCIENT ONES PART 11: The Meaning of AZAG-THOTH

Greetings!

I would like to welcome everyone to the Simon Necronomicon GateWalker’s Info Page. If this is your first time here please review our previous articles to gain deeper insight into our present discussion.

It seems to be imperative that the Priest/Priestess of the Simon Necronomicon Tradition  research all of the deities contained in the SN. Since we have been discussing the rituals and workings of the Ancient Ones, I think it would be a good idea for us to look into the meaning of these “ancient” deities  as they appear in the Simon Necronomicon.

One of the more mysterious entities mentioned in the Simon Necronomicon is AZAG-THOTH. In his introduction, Simon describes AZAG-THOTH in the following words:

“Although a list is appended hereto containing various entities and concepts of Lovecraft, Crowley, and Sumeria cross-referenced, it will do to show how the Editor found relationships to be valid and even startling. AZATOT is frequently mentioned in the grim pages of the Cthulhu Mythos, and appears in the NECRONOMICON as AZAG-THOTH, a combination of two words, the first Sumerian and the second Coptic, which gives us a clue as to Its identity. AZAG in Sumerian means “Enchanter” or “Magician”; THOTH in Coptic is the name given to the Egyptian God of Magick and Wisdom, TAHUTI, who was evoked by both the Golden Dawn and by Crowley himself (and known to the Greeks as Hermes, from whence we get “Hermetic”). AZAG-THOTH is, therefore, a Lord of Magicians, but of the “Black” magicians, or the sorcerers of the “Other Side””

It is interesting to note that Simon mentions that “THOTH” was evoked by the Golden Dawn and Crowley. However, before we go further into this discussion, we should review the references to AZAG-THOTH, in the Simon Necronomicon itself.

The First Testimony of the Mad Arab mentions the following:

“I have summoned the ghosts of my ancestors to real and visible appearance on the tops of temples built to reach the stars, and built to touch the nethermost cavities of HADES. I have wrestled with the Black Magician, AZAG-THOTH, in vain, and fled to the Earth by calling upon INANNA and her brother MARDUK, Lord of the double-headed AXE.”(1)

“But now, after One Thousand-and-One moons of the journey, the Maskim nip at my heels, the Rabishu pull at my hair, Lammashta opens her dread jaws, AZAG-THOTH gloats blindly at his throne”

We find another mention of AZAG-THOTH, in the INVOCATION OF THE SHAMMASH GATE:

“AZAG-THOTH is fallen off His Throne before Thee!”(2)

We later find mention of AZAG-THOTH in the MAKLU Text, within the EXORCISM AGAINST AZAG-THOTH AND HIS EMISSARIES:

“AZAG-THOTH TA ARDATA! IA MARDUK! IA MARDUK! IA ASALLUXI!
You have chosen me for a corpse.
You have delivered me to the Skull.
You have sent Phantoms to haunt me.
You have send vampires to haunt me.
To the wandering Ghosts of the Wastes, have you delivered me.
To the Phantoms of the fallen ruins, have you delivered me.
To the deserts, the wastes, the forbidden lands, you have handed me over.
Open Thy Mouth In Sorceries Against Me No More!
I have handed thine image over
Into the flames of GIBIL!
Burn, Mad Fiend!
Boil, Mad God!
May the Burning GIRRA untie thy knots!
May the Flames of GIBIL untie your cord!
May the Law of the Burning seize your throat!
May the Law of the Burning avenge me!”(3)

This is a very interesting passage. It reveals that AZAG-THOTH has the power and ability to send evil spirits to an individual, a point that we will come back to later in our discussion.

The Book of Calling also makes reference to AZAG-THOTH:

Know, thirdly, that by the Power of the Elder Gods and the submission of the Ancient Ones, thou mayest procure every type of honour, dignity, wealth and happiness, but that these are to be shunned as the Purveyors of Death, for the most radiant jewels are to be found buried deep in the Earth, and the Tomb of Man is the Splendour of ERESHKIGAL, the joy of KUTULU, the food of AZAG-THOTH.”(4)

“Invocation of the North Gate

“Thee I invoke, Silver Hunter from the Sacred City of UR!
Thee I call forth to guard this North Place of the Most Holy Mandal against the vicious warriors of Flame from the Principalities
of DRA!
Be thou most vigilant against the UTUKKI of TIAMAT
The Oppressors of ISHNIGARRAB
The Throne of AZAG-THOTH!
Draw Thy bow before the fiends of ABSU
Loose Thy arrow at the hordes of Dark Angels that beset the beloved of ARRA on all sides and in all places.
Be watchful, Lord of the North Ways.”(5)

He appears again in the INVOCATION OF THE FOUR GATES:

“AZAG-THOTH, TA KALLA!”(6)

Later, we find another reference in the IA ADU EN I:

“EKHI AZAG-THOTH”(7)

In the Book of Fifty Names, we find the following under the Thirty-Sixth Name LUGALLABDUBUR:

“Destroyer of the Gods of TIAMAT. Vanquisher of Her Hordes. Chained KUTULU to the Abyss. Fought AZAG-THOTH with skill”(8)

Next we come to the MAGAN Text. Section 4 entitled the Sleep of ISHTAR gives us a few references to the name:

“ERESHKIGAL rejoiced.
Blind AZAG-THOTH rejoiced
IAK SAKKAK rejoiced
ISHNIGGARRAB rejoiced
KUTULU rejoiced
The MASKIM gave praise to the Queen of Death
The GIGIM gave praise to ERESHKIGAL, Queen of Death
(9)

And the Elder Ones were rent “

Later we find the following:

“The demons of all the Abyss lay there
Dead but Dreaming, they clung to the walls
Of the House of Death
Faceless and terrible
The ANNUNAKI stared out
Blind and Mad AZAG-THOTH reared up”(10)

Another reference is made here:

The Dark Waters trembled and roiled. AZAG-THOTH screamed upon his throne”(11)

Now we move on to the URILLA Text:

“Of all the Gods and Spirits of Abomination, there can be no use or gain to call upon AZAG-THOTH, as he is Surely Mad. Rendered sightless in the Battle, he is Lord of CHAOS, and the priest can find little use for him. He is also too powerful to control once called, and gives violent struggle before sent back to the Gate, for which only a strong and able magician may dare raise him. Thus, for that reason, his seal is not given.”(12)

“And with these incantations, and with others, the sorcerers and the she-sorcerers call many things that harm of the life of man. And they fashion images out of wax, and out of flour and honey, and of all the metals, and burn them or otherwise destroy them, and chant the civilisations. And they cause plagues, for they summon PAZUZU. And they cause madness, for they call AZAG-THOTH. And these Spirits come upon the Wind, and some upon the Earth, crawling. And no oil, no powder, suffices to save a man from this inquity, save that exorcisms handed down and recited by the able Priest. And they work by the Moon, and not by the Sun, and by older planets than the Chaldaens were aware. And in cords, they tie knows, and each is a spell. And if these knots be found, they may be untied, and the cords burnt, and the spell shall be broken, as it is written:”(13)

We now come to the last part of the Text entitled, The Second Testimony of the Mad Arab:

“And I have seen them in their Rites, and the awful Things they call forth from the Lands beyond Time. I have seen the Signs carved upon their stones, their altars. I have seen the Sign of PAZUZU, and ZALED, and those of XASTUR and AZAG-THOTH, and similarly those of ISHNIGARRAB and the awful Offspring of the Goat, and the terrible musicks of their Race.”(14)

We can see that AZAG-THOTH is referred to numerous times in the Text. What I also found out is that the term “AZAG”,  which appears in various part of the Text is also a reference to AZAG-THOTH. Yet AZAG-THOTH appears 14 times in the Text. If we include Simon’s reference we arrive at the number 15, a number that corresponds to the Devil in the Major Arcana. We must also keep in mind that AZAG-THOTH is also mentioned in the CHART OF COMPARISONS, which appears in the introduction of the Simon Necronomicon. It is here that we find AZAG-THOTH being compared to AIWASS. When we begin to approach AZAG-THOTH from the perspective of AIWASS, we should consider that AIWASS was the messenger who gave Crowley his revelation in 1904, but also considered by Crowley to be his HGA. In the book entitled Magick Liber Book Four, we find some interesting observations in the book’s introductory notes:

“I now incline to believe that Aiwass is not only the God or Demon or Devil once held holy in Sumer, and mine own Guardian Angel, but also a man as I am, insofar as he uses a human body to make his link with Mankind whom He loves…Aiwaz is not (as I had supposed) a mere formula, …but is the true most ancient name of the God of the Yezidis, and thus returns to the highest Antiquity. Our work is therefore historically authentic, the rediscovery of the Sumerian Tradition.

Crowley’s words indicate the depth of Aiwass, as ones’ higher self, but also as a deity. AIWASS’ appearance in the Book of the Law reveals yet another attribute:

“Behold! it is revealed by Aiwass the minister of Hoor-paar-kraat”

We see from these words that AIWASS was a messenger for the “Child of Horius” or Hoor-paar-kraat. This brings into play the meaning of the term THOTH.

THOTH is a Greek corruption of the Egyptian term “TEHUITI.” Attributes of TEHUTI vary depending on what time period in Egyptian history you are dealing with. However, one aspect that seems to reveal itself in our studies in the designation of TEHUTI as a Scribe of the deities. E. A. Wallis Budge mentions this in his writings Gods of the Egyptians Vol. 1 page 409. This description of TEHUTI/THOTH seems to be the most appropriate in view of Aleister Crowley’s experiences with the energies of TEHUTI. Crowley received the Book of the Law only after invoking “THOTH” ( god of knowledge ). This would best explain why Simon  connected AZAG-THOTH with AIWASS. Yet it also reveals something deeper. The Mad Arab, in his First Testimony, recounts for us his initiation and how he came to understand what was revealed to him. If we compare some of the passages in his Testimony, we can see that this revelation woild best be attributed to the deity AZAG-THOTH. Let us take a brief look at his Testimony:

“I picked it up and saw that it also was carved, as the stone, but very intricately, after a fashion I could not understand. I did not bear the same markings as the stone, but I had the feeling I could almost read the characters, but could not, as though I once knew the tongue but had since long forgotten. My head began to ache as though a devil was pounding my skull, when a shaft of moonlight struck the metal amulet, for I know now what it was, and a voice entered into my head and told me the secrets of the scene I had witnessed in one word:

KUTULU.

In that moment, as though whispered fiercely into my ear, I understood.”

The above pasasage informs us that it was only after hearing the vooice of KUTULU that the Mad Arab understood the events that took place in the mountain. We will come back to this passage after we look further in his account of what happened.

“Of the three carved symbols, the first is the sign of our Race from beyond the Stars, and is called ARRA in the tongue of the Scribe who taught it to me, an emissary of the Elder Ones. In the tongue of the eldest city of Babylon, it was UR. It is the Sigil of the Covenant of the Elder Gods, and when they see it, they who gave it to us, they will not forget us. They have sworn!”

Here we see a reference to a “scribe”  who taught the Mad Arab the meaning of the Signs. This is a science that is attributed ti TEHUTI/THOTH. The passage goes on to state that “it is the Sigil of the Covenant of the Elder Gods,” Interestingly, the ARRA is said to describe the ‘Race from beyond the Stars.’ This is a reference to those who have been reborn in the blood of the Dragon, or the Ancient Ones. See the Elder Gods represent many things such as planetary energies and etc. However, one thing the Elder Gods represent that is not discussed in public circles, are magicians who were human at one time, and later became immortal gods. We see evidence of this in the Simon Necronomicon Tradition for it state in the Tome:

“THIS is the Book of the Ceremonies of Calling, handed down since the time the Elder Gods walked the Earth, Conquerors of the Ancient Ones”.

The above passage, while often misunderstood, is very clear. The Elder Gods were individual or a clan of magicians and mystics who were able to harness the powers of darkeness and remain alive after physical death consciously. This is the purpose of the Greater Mysteries. This is why the War between the Elder Gods and Ancient Ones can only be understood when read as a metaphore. Let us look at what the The Encyclopædia Britannica  edited by Hugh Chisholm says on page 55:

“..gods of fire, wind and water, gods of the sea, and above allgods of the sky, show no signs of having been ghost gods at any period in their history. They may, it is true, be associated with ghost gods, but in Australiait cannot even be assertedthat the gods are spirits at all…,they are simply magnified magicians, super-men who have never died, we have no ground, therefore, for regarding the cult of the dead as the origin of religion in this area;”

The above quote is further evidence that the Elder Gods were deified magicians. In Christian Mythology, the whole theme of the life of Jesus Christ is an example of this. Now let us get back to our discussion at hand. How can we be certain that AZAG-THOTH is the “Scribe” who revealed the “dark mysteries” to the Mad Arab? Let us make one more comparison to confirm this point. The Mad Arab mentions something very interesting in his description of the “amulet” he recovered from the fire:

“Wherefore, the amulet must be engraved upon pure silver in the full light of the moon, that the moon shine upon it at its working, and the essence of the moon incantations must be performed, and the prescribed rituals as given forth in this Book. And the amulet must never be exposed to the light of the Sun, for SHAMMASH called UDU, in his jealousy, will rob the seal of its power. In such a case, it must be bathed in water of camphor, and the incantations and ritual performed once again. But, verily, it were better to engrave another.”

Here we see something very interesting. If the “amulet” that the Mad Arab recovered from the fire, was a sign of the Elder Gods, such as NEBO, then it would make no sense as to why SHAMMASH would rob the “amulet”of its power. However, when we consider all that we have discussed thus far, we can find some answeers by reviewing the INVOCATION OF THE SHAMMASH GATE. Notice what it states:

“KUTULU is burned by Thy Might! AZAG-THOTH is fallen off His Throne before Thee! ISHNIGARRAB is scorched black by Thy rays!”

Here tis the only Gate Incantation that makes reference to KUTULU (Cult of the Dragon), AZAG-THOTH ( Cult of the Dog ) , and ISHNIGARRAB ( Cult of the Goat ). Out of these three Ancient Ones, we know for certain that AZAG-THOTH is the messenger. Therefore, the “Scribe” that taught the Mad Arab via telepathy was AZAG-THOTH. We cannot conclude this discussion as of yet. We must also define the term “AZAG.”

AZAG is a derivative of the Sumerian term asg, which means “one who causes sickness.” This demon is often depicted as serpent of dragon. Simon mentions that AZAG-THOTH is a derivative of Azathoth, often mentioned in Lovecraft lore. Wikipedia mentions the following under the topic Azathoth:

“In “The Dreams in the Witch House” (1932), the protagonist Walter Gilman dreams that he is told by the witch Keziah Mason that “He must meet the Black Man, and go with them all to the throne of Azathoth at the centre of ultimate Chaos…. He must sign in his own blood the book of Azathoth and take a new secret name…. What kept him from going with her…to the throne of Chaos where the thin flutes pipe mindlessly was the fact that he had seen the name ‘Azathoth’ in the Necronomicon, and knew it stood for a primal horror too horrible for description.”

This description seems to give us another insight into how AZAG-THOTH is define in the Simon Necronomicon, as the Mad Arab often describes him sitting upon a Throne. It seems that AZAG-THOTH serves the purpose of being an Initiator into the “dark mysteries.” This is how Simon was able to compare AZAG-THOTH with AIWASS. I would have to agree with John Allee and his Book of Aiwass. He assigns AIWASS as being able to grant the ability of astral projection and to THOTH the ability to see and hear spirits. These attributes combined in what we have in the energies of the deity AZAG-THOTH.

KEYS TO THE ANCIENT ONES PART 8: Initiation into the Secret Society that still Rules Today

Greetings!

I would like to welcome everyone here to the Simon Necronomicon GateWalker’s Page. If this is your first time here, please read some of our previous articles to gain further insight on our current subject.

I am happy that we have covered a lot of information concerning the Rites of the Ancient Ones.  However,  I must say that the importance of these Rites and rituals cannot be fully understood until the Initiate understands the history of the Cult of the Dead.

The Mad Arab speaks about this Cult on various occasions in the Text of the Simon Necronomicon. One example, can be  seen in the beginning of the MAGAN Text:

“The verses here following come from the secret text of some of the priests of a cult which is all that is left of the Old Path that existed before Babylon was built..,”

The Mad Arab on another occasion mentioned a “Cult” that existed before Babylon was built, he is referring to the Sult of the Dead. We can ascertain this from a passage that appears in the URILLA Text”

“Bread of the Cult of the Dead in its Place I eat”

The Mad Arab reveals the identity of this “Cult” in the above passage, being none other than the Cult of the Dead. Although, there is not much information available about the Cult of the Dead, most scholars agree that it is the religion of the Ancient Ones. I must also state that without understanding of the history of the Cult of the Dead, no Initiate can ever gain a true understanding of the Greater Mysteries. In the book Spiritism and the cult of the dead in antiquity by Lewis Bayles Paton, we find the following observation on page 18:

“..,it appears that the cult of the dead is one of the most ancient and most widely-spread forms of human worship….,a number of ancient writers formulated the theory that ancestor-worship was the origin of all human religion.”

Here we see that Paton describes the Cult of the Dead’s spiritual philosophy as being the foundation of all human religion. if this is the case, then we should see aspects of this in human religions that followed this most ancient Cult. Paton continues on page 208 with the following words:

“The rites of mourning among the Semites were similar to those of among other primitive peoples and bear witness to a similar cult of the dead.”

Before we continue on with other examples, Paton explains why the Cult of the Dead was so understood and embraced by ancient people who later came to fear the dead:

“The great gods whom men loved and adored were gods of the upper world and of the living; their sway did not extend into the dark abodes of the dead…,When death came it was a sign that their favor was withdrawn, or thatthey were unable to help against the powers f darkness. The disembodied spirit passed out of their jurisdiction into that of divinities wih whom in life it had established no friendly relations.”

Here we see that it is important for the Initiate to establish a relationship with the forces of darkness.  This we find as being the case with some of the most legendary kings and priests in history. Paton illustrates this further on page 261:

“The dark holy of holies of Solomon’s temple, with its anteroom, in which a lamp was kept burning and bread and incense were offered, was the counterpart of an ancient Canaanite tomb…,Sacrifice is a rite that has meaning only in the cult of the dead. The blood, in which the life of the animal resides, is poured outin order that the shades may drink of it and renew their vigour. Offerings of food and drink are not needed by celestial deities, but are needed by spirits of the dead, and have been offered to them from the earliest times…,and were afterward extended to other divinities..,”

Here we can see a clear example of how the Cult of the Dead, while remaining hidden, was influential in the secret cults of ancient times controlled culture, politics, and kings. Paton continues on page 20:

“We are told of Confucius that “he sacrificed to the spirits as though the spirits were present,” and he consciously enjoined the cult of the dead upon his disciples.”

This is further evidence of how widespread the Cult of the Dead really were. When we identify who the Cult of the Dead really are, we can see what groups were considered the Ancient Ones by the Mad Arab. Paton continues in his introductory notes, and from them we can see some of the bigoted views of Paton’s generation, though in some respects he praises these same “savage people” as being keepers of a most ancient tradition:

“In the Neolithic caves of Palestine, that were inhabited by a pre-Semitic race, offerings of food and drink were deposited with the dead and their bones were used as amulets. Anthropologists are agreed that no savage race exits which does not belive in some sort of immortality and practise some rites in honour of the dead.”

Earlier in Paton’s writing we find what he calls a savage race, would incude Africans, Native Americans, East Indians, and Asian peoples. Yet he also shows how this same Cult of the Dead was influential in Europe. In this online article entitled Death Rite we find the following observation:

“The Christian cult of the dead found found early expression in the catacombs..,”

It is clear from reveiwing the history of the Cult of the Dead that we find this to be the same organization that the Mad Arab describes as existing before babylon was built. it is this same Cult that Simon referred to in his introduction of the SN in a section entitled WORSHIP OF THE ANCIENT ONES IN HISTORY, we read:

“In the West, the conjuration, cultivation, or worship of this Power was strenuously oppossed with the advent of the Solar Monotheistic religions and those who clung to the Old Ways were effectively exstinguished.”

It now makes since  why the Mad Arab said that this Cult were to produce a text called the MAGAN Text. MAGAN sometimes referring to the “place of death.”  It can be estimated that the Cult of the Dead existed before the belief system of the Sumerians. It seems that after the Deluge the Cult’s Power was weakend by the Solar Cults, yet it still remained alive by Initiates who performed the work in secret. it is evident that the Cult existed before sumeria and Babylon because the esthetics of the Cult, althouth pre-historic, were though to be evil by the groups that followed them, namely the Sumerians and Babylonians, which means that they did not understand the cause of these rites. Paton continues on page 211 of his book:

“Unlike China, where ancestors were believed to bless their descendants,…in Babylonia and Assyria the activity of spirits of the dead was entirely maleficent.”

This would establish that the Cult that the Mad Arab mentioned in the beginning of the MAGAN Text must have existed even before Sumeria, since the Cult of the Dead is the oldest of religions. This would also explain why the Babylonians thought wind-spirits were evil, since the wind represented the soul, spirit, or breathe of the deceased person.  Interestingly, they also believed that the spirit still had some connection to the dead body and the physical body was its chief seat of activity. In some of the early Babyloniian incantations we see that these “evil spirits” are described as having no wife, cannot stand or sit, and etc. This being the case we can now understand why PAZUZU, was considered evil, since he was a wind demon. This would also clarify some aspects of Lamashtu being able to act in her own accord or winds that were not formed in heaven. We mentioned earlier that it was Ancient Mesopotamian belief that, although the celestial gods favored man from time to time, they could not do anything about the forces of darkness coming to take a soul is not the womb of death being that the have never established a relationship with these forces. This is what the Mad Arab seems to be talking about in the beginning of the Second Testimony, for although he has descended into the Abyss and has Walked amongst the Spheres, his fate still awaits him:

The Lords of the Wind rush about me and are angered..,”

It is a beautiful  that we have the opportunity to undergo the Rites of the Cult of the Dead, by our workings in the SN and our initiation into the Black Rites that appear in the Urilla Text. In view of our observations, it would seem probable that since the Cult of the Dead existed from pre-historic times, it may shed some light on what civilization is older Egypt or Sumeria since Egypt has a long history and was influenced for centuries by the Cult of the Dead. The Cult of Osiris one example of this. Actually the Mad Arab admits this when he describes these cults in his Second Testimony:

“Beware of  the Cults of Death, and these are the Cult of the Dog, the Cult of the Dragon, and the Cult of the Goat…”

Here the Mad Arab is secretly indicating source that the Initiate of the Black Rites will do well to investigate, to gain a deeper understanding of their work as an Ancient One. We will discuss these groups in our next article

KEYS OF THE ANCIENT ONES PART 4: The Philosophy of Evil

Greetings!

I am delighted that you have taken the time to review this writing, for it is indeed rare knowledge even amongst those who have a deep level of occult knowledge. The workings and rituals found in the Simon Necronomicon are the most ancient of all, and even predate Enochian Magick. The writers of the Simon Necronomicon were inspired by a template left by Aleister Crowley. The name Crowley appears thirty-nine times in the Tome’s Introduction. This is the same amount of times that the word “messiah” appears in the Hebrew Scriptures of the Christian Bible. The struggles between various facets of the O.T.O. caused some members to hold on to what personal writings they had of Crowley, and this was the foundation of what would later be known as the Simon Necronomicon. This would also explain the relationship that the Simon Necronomicon has with various different systems that Crowley was involved in, among these are Enochian Magick, Hinduism, Tantra, the workings of the Yezidis, and the list goes on. Yet the Rites of the Simon Necronomicon is still one of a closed system.

The Simon Necronomicon includes a unique process of self-initiation for all those who aspire to work the Rites contained in the text. We often refer to this process as GateWalking. After conjuring the Fire God, the Watcher, the Four Watchtowers, and reciting various exorcisms, the Initiate performs the Initiatory Walking of the Gate. The Initiate may remain in a Gate for a month or two and then move on to the next Gate. These Gates correspond to the Seven Spheres that the known Seven Planets represent. These are NANNA (Moon), NEBO (Mercury), ISHTAR (Venus), SHAMMASH (Sun), NERGAL (Mars), MARDUK (Jupiter), and ADAR (Saturn). The Spheres that these planets represent, refer to certain constellations of the Zodiac, that in the initiatory process, are entered in a pattern that is opposite the Sun’s movement through the Zodiac. The chart below illustrates this well:

NANNA = Cancer

NEBO     = Gemini

ISHTAR  =  Taurus

SHAMMASH = Leo, (the divider between the inner and outer planets)

NERGAL = Aries

MARDUK = Pisces

ADAR      = Aquarius

The Initiate moving though the path of the Zodiac is the noise that awakened Apsu. Notice what is mentioned in the MAGAN Text:

“They disturbed TIAMAT, the Ancient One, as they surged back and forth.
Yea, they troubled the belly of TIAMAT
By their Rebellion in the abode of Heaven.
ABSU could not lessen their clamour
TIAMAT was speechless at their ways.
Their doings were loathsome unto the Ancient Ones.”

The above passage indicates that these Initiatory workings were considered to be evil, not evil in themselves, but a path that did not follow that of the ordered universe. The passage above describing the Elder Gods moving through the Zodiac in a path that is converse to that of the Sun, metaphorically describes the evolution of the Initiate. This is where the inner wisdom must be applied to the Ancient Arcana. The term “evil” in the Dark Tradition means to evolve. Thus, the “evil” that occurred in the Heavens was a metaphor for evolving ideas and philosophy, as well being. It is sad how the uninitiated, even when seeing the term “evil” amongst ancient texts will interpret this term to mean something bad, or disgusting. Some who attempt to follow these traditions, have gotten stuck on so-called “evil” esthetics and will surround themselves with others who adore the dark imagery as a way of hiding their own mental illness

The work of true evolution was thus kept in secret for only a few could obtain it.  This is due to the fact that “Man” was created to fulfill needs of the planets, yet “Man” is deceived into thinking that he is the epitome of creation. While the MAGAN Text poetically illustrates the process of initiation, it is very clear that the primordial rites that are found in the Urilla Text are the most ancient. Notice what is written by the Mad Arab in the Urilla Text:

“THE following is the Text of URILIA, the Book of the Worm. It contains the formulae by which the wreakers of havoc perform their Rites. These are the prayers of the ensnarers, the liers-in-wait, the blind fiends of Chaos, the most ancient evil.”

When reviewing the above passage, as it appears in the URILLA Text, we see that the Rites of TIAMAT are the most transforming part of our evolutionary process, or the most ancient evil.  It is indeed a privilege to be in the service of the Elder Gods and it is from our service to them that the deeper secrets concerning the Dark Tradition are taught. The understanding of this is fact is of most vital importance! No ritual or working can actually teach the Initiate the deeper things of the Dark Tradition. This understanding must come from the very same forces that are revered in the working.

One of the great secrets of the Simon Necronomicon is that the deities representing the Gates are somewhat “solar” and on some levels the battle between TIAMAT and MARDUK represents the plight of the Solar Path. It is good for the Initiate to work with the “light” energies that exist in the Qliphotic Tree of Transformation. This is a very key point in understanding the workings of the Dark Tradition which takes us to a very unique passage in the Second Testimony of the Mad Arab:

“And who is their Master? Of this I do not know, but I have heard them calling ENKI which is surely a blasphemy, for ENKI is of our Race as it is writ in the Text of MAGAN. But, perhaps, they called Another, whose Name I do not know. But surely it was not ENKI.”

According to the above passage the Mad Arab also witnessed the Ancient Ones’ calling ENKI. ENKI is the guardian of the pathways, and this works on both an inner and outer level. First, we would want to consider that the war of the Elder Gods versus the Ancient Ones, or the Old Gods fighting the Younger Gods, is a Babylonian idea. Within the mythologies of the Sumerians, human beings were created by ENKI based on instructions given to him by his Mother NAMMU (the Babylonian TIAMAT). It should also be noted that the Ancient Sumerians associated ENKI with the planet Mercury. NEBO was placed as the god of the Sphere of Mercury by the Babylonians. When the Babylonians placed NEBO amongst the planetary deities, they transferred some of the qualities that are associated with ENKI to NEBO. In the Simon Necronomicon we find that NEBO is called the “guardian of the gods.” This has two meanings. Its first application would be to those who have just begun Walking this Path. NEBO will either allow one passage through the Spheres or send them into a state of confusion, where they think they are Walking along the path, but are not. This is why I always mention to other Initiates of the system to check their findings and what the inner voice is telling them by way of epiphany with the ancient myths. The information that you are being told in the mind should align with the nature of the deity in ancient myths about the said god or goddess.

ENKI is also “a guardian of the gods.” He is the one who decides as to whether one can grow into the path of the Ancient Arcane Faith, or whether they are to remain in service to the Gate Deities. This is a very important point to understand. See the Dark Tradition cannot be entered until one has Walked with the “light” gods, even if a person is believed to be called to Darkness, they must first be initiated regardless. The Dark Tradition of the Ancient Ones is a path of purity. The solar aspects of this work burn the impurities of the spirit away then, ENKI will decide whether or not the Initiate is to move on into the Teaching of the Ancient Arcane Faith.

The system of self-initiation, as found in the Simon Necronomicon is a Tantric Rite. It is the Sacred Marriage Rite. This alchemical marriage serves in fully uniting the Initiate with the Watcher. Since ENKI is the ‘Lord of the Watchers’ that dwells amongst the IGIGI, he is able to determine how well this bond is yoked together. Once this bond has occurred we are then able to return to the Womb of Creation and be reborn as an immortal being. This is expressed by the Mad Arab in the following words:

“And for that reason, the fearful utukku xul take possession of the body and dwell therein until the Priest banish them back to whence they came, and the normal spirit may return to its erstwhile neighbourhood.”

See in our process of self-initiation, the GateWalker becomes aware of the inner demons that dwell within since birth. Awareness of our imperfections is enough to weaken our faults, yet they will always be a part of the mechanical makeup of our emotional and mental machines. Only the Mother can heal us. Notice what the Mad Arab states in the Book of Black Earth:

“And a man may cry out, what have I don’t, and my generation that such evil shall befall me? And it mean nothing, save that a man, being born, is of sadness, for he is of the Blood of the Ancient Ones, but has the Spirit of the Elder Gods breathed into him. And his body goes to the Ancient Ones, but his mind is turned towards the Elder Gods, and this is the War which shall be always fought, unto the last generation of man; for the World is unnatural. When the Great KUTULU rises up and greets the Stars, then the War will be over, and the World be One.”

This is a very interesting passage for it reveals that regardless of how many Gates we have Walked, or if we are living everyday life, we will never understand the world or have true inner peace if we have not become acquainted with the source of all things, the Mother-TIAMAT. TIAMAT gives us the Tablets of Destinies that allows us to no longer be subjugated to our inner demons but to employ them in a useful manner. Until this process occurs we will always be at war with ourselves since we have not accepted the demonic aspect of our makeup. Once the transformation occurs we are at peace within ourselves and without. The Crown of Anu is the epitome of all mystical teachings. It is called the Philosophy of Evil. The Philosophy of Evil is a great mystical writing that can only be accessed within the realms of TIAMAT, the Mother. It is in these realms that we learn the true meaning of the Black Flame.

THE BLACK FLAME

The Black Flame is one of the greatest esthetics held within the Tradition of the Ancient Ones. When we really reflect on the Mad Arab’s words quoted above we begin to see how the world is unnatural. When we first arrive upon this physical plane of existence, we are born as children. We are in some ways able to observe the lies told to us by the symbols of the Solar Path, the first being the Sun. The Sun provides life-giving energy for the inhabitants of the planet Earth. Yet the Sun is also the greatest of liars. The Sun makes the shy appear blue. The Sun appears to rise and set. From our observations of the Sun’s movements we learn that since the Solar Path is filled with illusions, it must serve a purpose that is two-fold. While the Sun provides life-giving energy to creation here on Earth, it does so at a cost. The Sun’s characteristics are explained in many of the legends and myths concerning the Sun Gods, Buhhda, Khrishna, and Jesus are among these. All of these Sun Gods are also called Shepherds. The Good Shepherd is a symbol of the Sun. The Good Shepherd, like the Sun, provides its sheep with life-giving food, and protects the sheep. However, the Good Shepherd will eventually take the sheep to the slaughterhouse.  It is the same with the Sun. We are able to get food and protection from the Sun. Yet in our older years the Sun begins to rob the body of its vital force and it does this in two ways. Have you ever notice that when you are in the Sun too long you begin to feel drained? Isn’t it the same feeling as when you are stressed emotionally? See the Sun that provides life-giving energy and eventually drains it in our adult years. The Sun does this in the same manner that a Shepherd may use his crook to lead the sheep to a slaughterhouse. In this case, the Shepherd’s Crook is symbolized by the planets. The reflection of the Sun’s light from the Seven Planets, creates situation in our day-to-day lives and also on a community level. These situations create stressful conditions to various degrees. Sometimes we find ourselves being angry, happy, sad, and etc. The shift from one mood to the next causes us to bleed life-energy and this is how the Sun and the planet feed themselves. Think for a second, if you can feel anger and I can fell anger, anger is not who we are though we possess the capacity for expressing it. Anger is a Martian energy or the energy of Nergal. When we begin Walking the Gates we are asked to first summon the Watcher. The Watcher is our dead self a counterpart of ourselves that exists in the stellar regions. When we summon the Watcher, the Watcher is able to observe our emotional changes just as clearly as we observe changes in the phenomenal world. Yet the watcher has not fully awakened from its slumber. As we ascend the Ladder of Lights, the Watcher that was once dead in us becomes stronger. Eventually the Watcher becomes the most prominent aspect of our being, overshadowing the emotional and physical part of the human machine. We are stripped naked in the Gate of Adar, so that we can merge with the Watcher. This is why Simon has often used Tantric analogies when speaking about the Simon Necronomicon because it is the Sacred Marriage Rites between our vessel and our Watcher. The Watcher would then represent the Black Flame. It is a Black Flame because can function and remain alive regardless of the outer changes that are occurring in the phenomenal world. Being able to see these changes on stellar and mental levels allows our Watcher-Self to become stronger. This is why the workings in the URILLA Text are to be performed without summoning the Watcher. The Ancient One is the Initiate who has gotten to a level where they understand themselves to be the Watcher. Notice what the Mad Arab says:

“And sometimes the Watcher appears as the Enemy, ready to devour the Priest who has erred in the incantations, or omitted the sacrifice, or acted in defiance of the Covenant, for which acts the very Elder Gods cannot forbid that silent Race from exacting its toll. And it is said that some of that Race lie waiting for the Ancient Ones to once more rule the Cosmos, that they may be given the right hand of honour, and that such as these are lawless. This is what is said.”

The Mad Arab mentions how the Watcher is ready to slay the priest who has acted in defiance of the Covenant. This means that once the Sacred Union between the Priest and the Watcher has occurred and they have entered the Womb of Creation once again, there is no turning back. How could there be? Yet when this Union does occur the Watcher is given the right hand of honor, or rules our being and its emotional and mental aspects. This is when the world of darkness also becomes the world of light. Earlier we spoke about the illusion that the Sun casts. We will now consider another Solar illusion.

The Sun makes the sky appear blue. This is actually the first lie told to man. So from the perspective of the Dark Tradition, it is the Solar Rites that are in opposition to the Truth. This would include all Solar Faiths, such as Christianity, Islam, and etc. The next illusion we learn of the Solar faiths can be determined by the Sun’s appearance. The Sun appears to be powerful, but even Suns die. The light of the Sun is still limited to time and space, and more importantly the light of a Sun can only be seen in a world of darkness. This is quite contrary to the Dark Tradition. The Black Flame can only be seen in a world of light that from an inner place. Darkness is not confined by the veils of time, it always is. Darkness is eternal. Immortality can only be found along the Dark Path. Notice what is mentioned in the URILLA Text when opening the gate of the Ancient Ones:

“I receive the Sun at night and the Moon by day.”

The Black Flame is an Inner Flame that shines brightly in a world of light. This world of light represents the purity of our mental and emotional being. This is not a moral purity but a purity that is a result of our non-identification with thoughts and emotions that pass through us as a result of living in this world. We are not those things though they reside in the human machine we are anchored in. we receive the Sun at night because we are able to cast our will upon the world and the day-to-day world reflects our truest desires. So we find that we can create our world. The Moon reflects the Light of our Inner Sun during the waking state, so it is said that we receive the ‘Moon by day.’ Yet I would like to caution all, because there are some out there who would just like to rush through the Walkings to get to a place of enlightenment via ritual, and that is a farce. The Dark tradition is something that the Initiate must be invited to. It is not obtain through ritual itself. It is said in the writings of the Philosophy of Evil that “a man or a woman cannot see darkness until they have looked within themselves, then they can see all that is and all that will be.” Therefore, it is important for us to take the preliminary steps first. We must Walk the Gates prior to working with the URILLA Text.

Simon Necronomicon Healing Exercise #3: Ascending to Godhood

Greetings!

I would like to welcome everyone to the Simon Necronomicon GateWalker’s Page. We have a list of articles in our menu section posted for review. if this is your first time here, it is best advised to review these articles first so as to understand our current discussion better.

Recently we have been posting a few articles on some of the deeper aspects of the Simon Necronomicon for those who are Walking and those who have Walked all 11 Gates. This is very important to note that one must complete their GateWalkings before beginning a new process of creation within ourselves. It has been noted by the editor of the Necronomicon, Simon, that there are certain traps listed in the book to protect the Initiate, not to entrap him/her. Recently, I received an email from a gentleman who was interested in the correspondence course, but only wanted information about the Urilla Text, and was a little annoyed that I would not release this information, and this is the problem that I have with Chaos Magicians, of which the Necronomicon worker is not. See Chaos Magic has this theory that it is all in your mind, and that is the exact opposite of the energies examined in the mystical arts. The mind can only be used as a tool in the mystical arts. You see the energies that are employed or received in the occult arts are emotional, or energy in motion. The mind serves as an instrument in detecting and employing these emotions as to where they are going. The mind is an altar, but it is not self. Initiation serves the purpose of adjusting and training the mind and heart in just being able to conduct the energies that are being worked with. This is where the problem with Chaos Magic begins. See in Chaos Magic the magician wrongfully assumes that he/she are prepared to handle the energies within the given system. If the Magician is uninitiated and begins working with certain currents of energy, the effects are not always tragic, but the understanding will always be flawed. Usually this idea of its all in your mind and etc, is something that an unfocused and is useful to the lazy individual who will invent such a philosophy  to escape the work that it takes to achieve Adept-ship in the mystical arts. Just imagine all the time and research that went into the Ancient Occult Tradition that can be seen easily by observing the architecture of these ancient civilizations. Now here comes some kid who watches five hours of television a day and enjoys sci-fi films, he has this big shortcut to evade centuries of work, by just picking up a book at Barnes and Nobles, which tells him that it’s all in the mind. Slow down kid. Do you realize that by just stating that you are disrespecting the pioneers and ancient culture that the same individual is studying?

I make these points on the onset of our discussion to let the reader know that there is more value in taking time with the system and working with it honestly than trying to get to same place in the system because you think the power is there. No, the power is held within you relate to the energies in the system. What may be a power zone to those who are working with the system in the appropriate way may be disaster for you, since you have not taken the time to understand the prior steps.

For those of us who have Walked all 11 Gates, it is important for us to understand that this is only a First Initiation. There are so many layers of information written within the Book of Black Earth that rotates in our minds much like the star above us do. However, the MAGAN Text gives us a wonderful blueprint to understand the workings of the system. Let us note what is written in Section Three of the Magan Text:

“For, lo! The Elder Gods Possess the Sign/ By which the Powers of the Ancient Ones are turned back/But Man possesses the Sign/And the Number/And the Shape/To summon the Blood of his Parents/And this is the Covenant Created by the Elder Gods”

This verse of the MAGAN Text is often misunderstood, but through careful examination of it we can see a deeper truth in relationship to our work. First, we can see clearly that by working with the Elder Gods we are able to resist the harmful elements of the Ancient Ones, yet this passage also makes mention that the Ancient Ones are our parents. This is a reference to those who exist amongst humanity that have the Blood of the Ancient Ones running through their veins. The Covenant that was created by the Elder Gods is one that allows the Initiate to become familiar with the energies of the Ancient Ones in a softer form, as with the emanations of the planets.

This is a safe beginning for us to work with the energies of our parents. Which we experience through our initial rites of initiation. Then the next process begins when we pick up in our reading of the MAGAN Text:

“Man is the Key by which/The Gate of IAK SAKKAK may be flung wide/By which the Ancient Ones/Seek their Vengeance/Upon the face of the Earth/Against the Offspring of MARDUK/For what is new/Came from that which is old/And what is old/Shall replace that which is new/And once again the Ancient Ones/Shall rule upon the face of the Earth! /And this is too the Covenant! /”

This is a passage that is one of the most important of the many passages in the sacred scripture of the MAGAN Text.  The understanding of this passage is not easily understood but comes with the passage of time and work as pertaining to our Weaklings. The force of the Ancient Ones is spread out amongst men. This is another reason why it is said in the Book that INANNA TAKES HER OWN FOR HER OWN. Those who are initiated into this system by the deities themselves are those who are of the Ancient Ones. The MAGAN Text refers to TIAMAT as the ‘Queen of the GHOULS.’ The term GHOUl derives its origin from the term ghul. The term ghul relates to the Jinn. Interestingly, in the Islamic world, the Jinn are said to be a race of beings that were created from “smokeless fire.” They were also said to exist before man by a couple of thousand years. They live in a parallel word to humanity and have societies, families, like men do. It is also said that the Jinn have progeny even amongst human folk. For more information about the Jinn and there place in the religion of Islam, you might enjoy this article here The Jinn

We also notice in the above quote that the Ancient Ones shall rule again! this means that those who have been doing the work of Walking will eventually be initiated into greater things, but once again in reflection of our earlier statements, we have mentioned in many of our previous articles that ISHTAR/INANNA is Tiamat. Notice the comparison made between ISHTAR and Tiamat found here Ishtar is Tiamat See Tiamat being the ‘Queen of the Ghouls, would also mean that here children, The Elder Gods, were among these as well, and it is our relationship with them that we are thereby adopted into understanding our Family. Once we are adopted into the Family we are truly “initiated.” Our ritual used the forces of the Elder Gods to protect us from the harmful aspects of our “Mother” due to the high and chaotic energy that this realm possesses. However, the Walking is just an Initiation within itself. It is a way for us to connect with the energies of the North Star and its comrade the Big Dipper. Simon was very specific in helping us to appreciate the value of the Big Dipper in Gates of the Necronomicon. Interestingly, in his book, Simon points out how the Ancient Taoists viewed our seven planets as grosser forms of the Stars with in the Big Dipper.  Much of our work in the Necronomicon concerns itself with the position of these stars being that all of our Incantations are facing north. What I find most interesting is that the Big Dipper moves in a counter-clockwise direction around the North Star Polaris. How the Big Dipper rotates around Polaris There fore our work of Walking around the Gates “clockwise” is to only serve for purposes of Initiation. Once we are initiated, a greater form of Initiation occurs, which is to Walk these very same Gates “counter-clockwise” or widdershin movements. Benjamin Rowe, famous writer on Enochian Magic, describes widdershin movements as being thaumaturgic, or miraculous.

This is why in the Urilla Text there is no mention of conjuring the Watcher in the Urilla Text because it is at this time that the merge of our physical bodies with the Watcher is complete.

A GATEWALKER’S PERSPECTIVE: NATIONALIZING THE BANKING SYSTEM

A GateWalker’s Perspective on Today’s Economic Crisis

Greetings!

I thought I would make a brief comment on a passage that is often misunderstood in the Simon Necronomicon. This passage is found in the MAGAN Text:

“The Gate if IAK SAKKAK may be flung wide
By which the Ancient Ones
Seek their Vengeance
Upon the face of the Earth
Against the Offspring of MARDUK.
For what is new
Came from that which is old
And what is old
Shall replace that which is new
And once again the Ancient Ones
Shall rule upon the face of the Earth!
And this is too the Covenant!’

The Prophesy of the Ancient Ones return is gradually coming into being. We are beginning to see a shift in the economy or the long foretold war of Armageddon, which is nothing more than the conflict that we see between the corporate infrastructure versus the government.

The government has been held accountable for the wild uncontrollable corporate beast. It is the corporations, not the government that encourages the indulgence of deadly vices. We are entertained by corporation with lust, murder, and all sorts of illicit acts. If there wasn’t any governmental regulations things might even be worst.

The governments of the world have long held the “mystical traditions” through symbolism, and custom. Yet corporations have been able to seduce government through large donations, which has created a state of chaos and confusion.. Now we see in the “news” or media circus the exposure of the illegal acts in the corporate world. This is evidence that the government is taking back its authority and may even nationalize the banking system here in the United States and in other neighboring countries.

“Remember that the Essences of the Ancient Ones are in all things, but that the Essences of the Elder Gods are in all things that live, and this will prove of value to thee when the time comes.”
