Greetings! I would like to welcome everyone to Papers in the Attic blog page. if this is your first time here, please take this opportunity to look over some of our previous articles, and do not hesitate in sharing some of your insights by posting a comment. Thank you for visiting our page. Stay blessed.

It has been an interesting year so far. I would like to send my thanks and appreciation to all those who supported the release of the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, the translation of the Dup Shimati, or the Tablets of Destinies. While we have received a lot of positive support, we have also received some questions concerning the manuscript and many of the forces mentioned therein, and how to validate their authenticity and etc.

Questions like these are always entertaining and in finding the answers, we do learn something new. Much of the information in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow is based on a gematria that was used by a pre-Sumerian civilization that are only known by the name, The Cult of Nyarzir.

This means for one to truly understand the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, they must understand the importance of gematria, for this is even how the Simon Necronomicon was constructed. Many times people try to validate the material in the Simon tome, by means of historical research and etc. This approach is only 25% of what it takes to understand the Simon Necronomicon. In order to get a full grasp of the Necronomicon by Simon, it is essential that the Initiate has a grasp of gematria.

Gematria is the science of assigning a numerical value to a word, or phrase,  in the belief that words or phrases with identical numerical values bear some relation to each other. Gematria has a very huge place in traditional Judaic studies. However, the Initiate of the Necronomicon Tradition will find that much of the secrets contained in the Simon Necronomicon are based on English gematria.

English gematria has been around for quite some time. It is based on the old English alphabet of 24 letters. It is well-known and its use has been documented well back into the medieval period., but to an interesting turn some years ago. Dr. J.R. Church, in studying the number 666, developed a gematria system for the English alphabet based on the ancient Sumerian civilization’s method of calculating. The Sumerian system was based on a root of six as opposed to ten. It is believed that the Sumerian civilization is the most ancient after the Flood and their system of counting the very first after the Flood. The Sumerian system can still be seen in our use of the foot (12 inches = 2 x 6) and yard (36 inches = 6 x 6) and in our sexagesimal measurement of time (60 seconds, 60 minuets, 24 hours = 4 x 6).

Since English gematria is based on the Sumerian numerical system, the Initiate can unlock many of the mysteries in the Simon tome. This could also be compared to the pre-Sumerian civilization, the Cult of Nyarzir, as they influenced the later Sumerian tribes. Let’s take a look at one example of this:

ADUENI appears in the Sumer Aryan Dictionary by L. A. Waddell. On page 6 of the said work we find the following:

“The Lady Queen-Seer Woman”

In other works by Waddell, he identifies ADUENI with the Goddess Athena. Interestingly, we find this phrase “adueni” in the Simon Necronomicon:

“Prepare, then the bowl of TIAMAT, the DUR of INDUR, the Lost Bowl, the Shattered Bowl of the Sages, summoning thereby the FIRIK of GID, and the Lady SHAKUGUKU, the Queen of the Cauldron. Recite the Conjuration IA ADU EN I over it, and build the Fire therein, calling GBL when thou dost, after his manner and form.”

Here we can see that ADUENI is an assigned conjuration, associated with the rites of Tiamat, but more importantly, it is preceded by “IA.” If we take the said term through the process of English gematria, we will discover one mystery, of many in the Simon Necronomicon:

Adueni has a value of 324 in English Gematria and 54 in Simple Gematria. (Simple Gematria is numbering a letter based on its place in the alphabet.) However, the meaning of ADUENI takes on a more important meaning when we add the prefix “IA” in front of the word:

Here we see that IAADUENI is equal to Tiamat, both have an English Gematric value of 384, and a Simple Gematric value of 64. This also verifies something quite amazing, for it shows a correlation with the I-Ching.

The I Ching, which is composed of 64 hexagrams, or six-line figures, 6 x 64 = 384, which is exceptionally close to the number of days in 13 lunar months (29.5306 x 13 = 383.8978), and that maybe the I Ching was originally an ancient Chinese calendar.

According to the sums we find in English and Gematria, we find the English and Simple Gematria. This actually verifies a connection between ancient Sumer and China, which actually validates H. P. Lovecraft’s description concerning the Cthulhu Cult, that was said to centered in Arabia with some immortals living in China. We may begin to see who Lovecraft was referring to:

Another example, can be seen in the history of the Mad Arab. Many people have wondered about the identity of the Mad Arab and this can found also through English Gematria. First let’s look at the definition of the Mad Arab in Enochian:

Enochian     English Meaning
Mad               God or Your God
Ar                                           That
Ab                 Daughter of Light

From the above Enochian translation, we can easily see that the term Mad Arab means Your God that Daughter of Light. It would seem that this definition would possibly imply that the Mad Arab, may just be the Watcher of the Simon Necronomicon, the existence of which was made real in another work by Simon entitled Dead Names, page 306.

We can see here that the Mad Arab in English Gematria is 240, and in Simple Gematira 40. There is another word that also have these same values:

The term Bandar, also have the same value as the Mad Arab! Interestingly, BAN is described in the Sumer Aryan Dictionary as “the child-creating goddess, Venus.” Dar is defined as King Dar, or Thor, King Adar, whom Waddell identifies as the first king of Sumer after the rule of the “aboriginal Chaldeans.”

Since the terms Bandar and Mad Arab have the same numerical value, it would seem that the Mad Arab is Inanna/Ishtar. Her example on this realm and the said rites are similar to how Jesus set an example for Christians. We can confirm the Mad Arab as Ishtar even from a Lovecraftian perspective:

Other comparisons also clear up a lot of the mysteries in the Necronomicon text. In the Table of Correspondences in the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction, we find:

Out of Space The Abyss Absu; Nar Mattaru

It is clear that we find Nar Mattaru as meaning Out of Space, but we can determine other relative meanings from the English Gematria.

The correlations are two numerous to mention in all, but I thought the reader would find this to be a very interesting comparison as well:

“I have traveled among the stars, and trembled before the Gods. I have, at last, found the formulae by which I passed the Gate ARZIR, and passed into the forbidden realms of the foul IGIGI.”

The values of Arzir are 432 and 72. These are the same as Aiwass:

Based on the English Gematria the terms Aiwaz and Asaru are relative to each other. If we remember, the Simon Necronomicon calls the “eye upon the throne,” Asaru.

The Ivory Tablets of the Crow

Now that we have discussed how the use of English Gematria, a science based on the Sumerian numerical system, has unlocked some of the mysteries of the Simon Necronomicon. we should now see the same with the pre-Sumerian Ivory Tablets of the Crow. In the Magan Text, we read the following:

“The verses here following come from the secret text of some of the priests of a cult which is all that is left of the Old Faith that existed before Babylon was built, and it was originally in their tongue, but I have put it into the Golden Speech of my country so that you may understand it.”

The ‘cult of the Old Faith’ is discussed heavily in the Atlantean Necronomicon,, which scholars normally describe as the Cult of the Dead, or ancestor worship. Yet, we find another interesting factor about the pre-Sumerian Cults in the Atlantean Necronomicon:

“Most of the ancient myths concerning Ereshkigal seem to imply that ERESHKIGAL left on her own free will. It seems that after Kur was struck, the Watchers battled alongside Kingu, but were defeated and became subject to the authority of the Elder Gods. Anzu birds were often depicted as deceptive in Sumerian legend because they were the original gods that had been made subject to the Elder Gods. This is similar to howMarduk was promoted as the head of the Babylonian pantheon by priests who saw the need to compose the Enuma Elish. Evidence of this can be seen in the myth of ISHTAR and the Huluppu Tree. This account describes the original occupants of the “tree” as Lilith (LAMASHTU), an Anzu Bird (PAZUZU), and the serpent. Legend has it that with the aid of Gilgamesh, ISHTAR was able to set up her throne in the Huluppu Tree, and Lilith, the Anzu Bird, and the “serpent” were forced to flee into the wilderness. Lilith is an archetype of the Atlantean Goddess, LAMASHTU.. The Huluppu Tree Myth reveals the primordial rites that existed before the advent of the solar gods, which Gilgamesh’s presence in the myth indicates.”

The Atlantean Necronomicon analyzes the Huluppu Tree Myth and reveals how an older rite existed in ancient times, much older than what we call the Elder Gods of today. In fact the gods involved in the rites were Pazuzu and Lamashtu. Barbara G. Walker in Women’s Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets:

“Lamashtu, “Mother of Gods” worshipped at Der as a serpent with a woman’s head.”

Walker states the following on page 904:

“The Akkadian Goddess NINHURSAG, “She Who Gives Life to the Dead,” was also called “Mistress of Serpents” as yet another form of Kadru or Kadi.Babylon’s version of her made her a dark twin of the Heaven-goddess ISHTAR, calling her Lamia or LAMASHTU ..Cylinder seals show her squatting, Kalilike, over her mate, the god PAZUZU, he of the serpent penis. As another Lord of Death, he gave himself up to be devoured by the Goddess.”

I am sure that many may wonder how does this information relate to the Ivory Tablets of the Crow. It is important in the fact that the promordial gods and goddesses, were sometimes seen as demons by the later Babylonians, who gave them titles that were somewhat derogatory. This can be scene in the example of Humwawa, who is defined as a monstrous beast, which is a derogatory description on the Elamite king Humban whose name means “master of heaven.” The Ivory Tablets of the Crow restores the proper vibration of these primordial deities as we will now see.

First let us define the Cult of Nyarzir, the ‘cult of the Old Faith that existed before Babylon was built:

z

26

)

Here we see the value of the primordial Atlantean god Pazuzu is 666. Now we know for sure that English Gematria was used when translating the Simon Necronomicon. In the Introduction, under the topic, The Horned Moon, we read:

“PAZUZU, the Beast, was brought to life by Aleister Crowley, and the Demon walked the Earth once more.”

The Beast has the number 666. This profound insight is discussed earlier in the Introduction of the Simon Necronomicon:

“When Crowley professed to have passed the obstacles, and crossed the Abyss of Knowledge, and found his true Self, he found it was identical with the Beast of the Book of Revelation, 666, whom Christianity considers to represent the Devil.”

So Crowley found he true self to be identical to the Beast, which in Horned Moon subtopic in the introduction is equated to Pazuzu. Pazuzu in English Gematria has the value of 666 and the Simple Gematric value of 111. Now we find that the Ivory Tablets of the Crow describe this pre-Sumerian ‘cult of the Old Faith’ as the Cult of Nyarzir:

Here we see that Pazuzu has the same value as the term Nyarzir, which is also 666, and 111. Therefore the Cult of Nyarzir is The Cult of Pazuzu.

Reflecting back on the information cited earlier in the Atlantean Necronomicon, we learned that Lamashtu was described by Walker as the “mother of the gods.” She was equated to Ninhursag and Ereshkigal, who are all said to roar, signs of a solar goddess:

“..she descended into the Underworld and defeated her sister, the Goddess of the Abyss, Queen ERESHKIGAL (possibly another name for TIAMAT).”

We can see that both Ereshkigal and Lamashtu have the same numerical value. However it can also be said that this aspect of a primordial solar goddess can be found in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow. Johuta is described as a “daughter of heaven” and as a solar goddess in the Tablets’ lists of correspondences. Simon, editor of the Necronomicon, may have adjusted certain spelling to fit a more positive perspective of the goddess Lamashtu, for in the Urilia text she is described as Lamashta:

Based on the English Gematria, the Nyarzirian goddess Johuta, has a nature similar to Ishtar, but also of Lamashta. Another interesting find is in the Introduction of the Ivory Tablets:

“we find in their writings a story of a magician named Xuz,”

In the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction we find:

“THOTH in Coptic is the name given to the Egyptian God of Magick and Wisdom,”

This shows us that Xuz and Thoth were the same person, or class of priest, sorcerers, and etc. Yet, there true identity is revealed when we look further into the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction:

“TAHUTI, who was evoked by both the Golden Dawn and by Crowley himself (and known to the Greeks as Hermes, from whence we get “Hermetic”). AZAG-THOTH is, therefore, a Lord of Magicians, but of the “Black” magicians, or the sorcerers of the “Other Side”.”

The word Tahuti seems to be associated with “sorcerers of the “Other Side,” of Black Magicians. Let us see why:

Here we see that the terms Tahuti and Akhkharu have the same value in English Gematria and Simple Gematria, meaning that these Black magicians were like the Akhkharu. I would like to remind the reader that it is not a normal occurrence to find the same values in both English and Simple Gematria.

It seems that the mysticism of the Ivory Tablets seems to describe the world before that still exists in the divine realms. In explaining further, the Magan Text brings out something very interesting:

“He split the sundered TIAMAT in twain And fashioned the heavens and the earth,”

This portion of the Magan Text refers to the Battle between Marduk and Tiamat. Tiamat is spit in two, one part is used to create heaven, another part is used to create earth and man. Later in the Simon Necronomicon, we read:

“Know that TIAMAT seeks ever to rise to the stars, and when the Upper is united to the Lower, then a new Age will come of Earth, and the Serpent shall be made whole, and the Waters will be as One, when on high the heavens had not been named.”

This means that is some respects, metaphorically, the world is unnatural as divided, or our consciousness is divided. The Mad Arab writes:

“And a man may cry out, what have I don’t, and my generation that such evil shall befall me? And it mean nothing, save that a man, being born, is of sadness, for he is of the Blood of the Ancient Ones, but has the Spirit of the Elder Gods breathed into him. And his body goes to the Ancient Ones, but his mind is turned towards the Elder Gods, and this is the War which shall be always fought, unto the last generation of man; for the World is unnatural.”

One half of man’s consciousness hangs in heaven, and another upon earth in essence, we look today at only one-half of Tiamat. This is interesting for in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow it states:

“Beyond the stars, beyond the darkness of the night they dwell. Into the realm of light they reside in stillness.”

The Ivory Tablets refer a science existing before Tiamat was split in two. This would mean that Tiamat’s values would be doubled in the consciousness of unity.

384 x 2, 64 x 2, would equal a gematric formula of 768 and 128. These numbers would represent the unity of consciousness, when the “waters are one.” In the Ivory Tablets of the Crow’s Introduction, it states:

“Historical records reveal little about this cult who accredited their knowledge to the Ninzuwu, a race of beings that shared a “mystical technology” with early man.”

The Ivory Tablets of the Crow talk heavily about the Ninzuwu, it is a race and rank of the adept and those who oversee the work. The science of the Ninzuwu is from a perspective or “a time when the waters are one” This can be seen in the values that are given for the Ninzuwu, which are 768 and 128, double to that of Tiamat, showing that both sides of the whole are one in the state of Ninzuwu.

The amazing thing about all of this is that in the Simon Necronomicon, a slight variation in historical deities reveal a great numerical connection. In the case of the Ivory Tablets of the Crow, we see a complete mystical tradition that in no way could be made up, but appear to be the formulae for the Gate of Arzir, mention by the Mad Arab. Below are a few correspondences between the Simon Necronomicon and the Ivory Tablets of the Crow:

  1. One who possesses the DUP SHUMATI or the Tablet of Destinies would have rulership over the known Universe, which Marduk had after defeating Tiamat.

    The MAGAN TEXT reads:

    MARDUK
    Victor
    Took the Tablets of Destiny
    Unbidden
    Hung them around his neck.

Where are the photos of these tablets that are hung around the neck, from which the Ivory Tablets are based off of? What is this Cult of Ny-ARZIR? What reference are you using? How can the Tablet of Destiny come in manuscript form, when it was hung around the neck of Marduk?

If it were truly Pre-Sumerian as you say, the Necronomicon betrays whether this book comes from a valid source. “The terrible offspring of the Ancient Ones may be summoned by the priest. These offspring may be called and adjured to perform what tasks the priest deem necessary in his temple. They were begotten *BEFORE ALL AGES AND DWELT IN THE BLOOD OF KINGU* (emphasis added), and MARDUK could not altogether shut them out. And this was taught by the priests of Babylon, who charged that these formulae may never be revealed to anyone who is not initiated into our ways, for to do so would be the most frightful error.”

If the offspring were begotten before all ages and dwelt in the blood of KINGU, then it is indeed a magick that existed prior to what we know of as “Sumeria”.

From what Covenant are you getting your information from? The Simon Necronomicon lists that the same “Gates” that Ishtar had went through were “set down before Time” being that is comes from “The Covenant of Old”. Those are The Rules of the Lady of KUTU

You say that Marie Laveau purchased this manuscript, yet there is no mention of it anywhere? If it was so important, why was it not mentioned?

The symbols of the URILLIA are obviously not LETTERS or a system of gematria, for if we go onto page 211, you will see the AGGA sign. Is that a letter, Mr. Asylum? Tell me, is the AGGA sign a letter and should it be used in that fashion?

You’ve clearly lost your mind, departed from the very book you’ve based your blog on.

“Sacrifice is a rite that has meaning only in the cult of the dead. The blood, in which the life of the animal resides, is poured out in order that the shades may drink of it and renew their vigour. Offerings of food and drink are not needed by celestial deities, but are needed by spirits of the dead, and have been offered to them from the earliest times…and were afterward extended to other divinities..”

You posted this without looking onto page 58 which reads:

MARDUK, Who gives the Stars their Powers, Remember!

You’ve taken the language out of the Necronomicon in effort to legitimize your book, which is nothing but an effort to lead people off course. If there is a false prophet, you are the one in our midst!

I greet you with peace and good tidings,

I leave you with a quote on page 98.

Know, sixthly, that thou shalt seek the operations of this Magick save by the rules and governments set down herein, for to do other is to take the most awful risk, for thyself and for all mankind. Therefore, heed these words carefully, and change not the words of the incantations, whether thou understand them, or understand them not, for they are the words of the Pacts made of Old, and before Time.

  2. What does the I CHING have to do with the Necronomicon? How is gematria a legitimate method of ensuring that the text you’ve received is valid when deceptions are all over it? How can you say no god is the true god, yet you have prayers and rituals listed in your book?

    M

    June 2, 2013 at 8:36 am

  3. @M…”No god is the true god.” So it should raise a question to the reader that these are not prayers, but scientific formulas using certain principle, which I will talk about in another article on the other site. That’s a no-brainer! Here is a quite from the Simon Necronomicon, which is a standard in the real occult circles:

“These were the sorcerer’s handbooks, and generally not meant as textbooks or encyclopedias of ceremonial magick. In other words, the sorcerer or magician is supposed to be in possession of the requisite knowledge and training with which to carry out a complex magickal ritual, just as a cook is expected to be able to master the scrambling of eggs before he conjures an “eggs Benedict”; the grimoires, or Black Books, were simply variations on a theme, like cookbooks, different records of what previous magicians had done, the spirits they had contacted, and the successes they had. The magicians who now read these works are expected to be able to select the wheat from the chaff, in much the same fashion as an alchemist discerning the deliberate errors in a treatise on his subject.”

Most validation is done upon practice. Magic is a form of technology. When you are trained in such, this factor becomes quite clear. Technology advances, as well as magick. It is always made adaptable for modern use, so the practitioner can use the arcane tradition in the modern world.

Many Initiates of the Necronomicon Tradition use the I Ching and have made it a intergral part of their work. In the article, it compares the numberical value of Tiamat with the I Ching. If you reached that far in initiation you would know that the purpose of calling up Tiamat is for the same purpose as why one uses the I Ching.

  4. Those are some interesting questions that you will have to answer one day for yourself. Now here are two questions that you will have to look at, if you are a true practitioner of the Simon Necronomicon:

“Know, too, that I have spoken with all manner of spirit and daemon, whose names are no longer known in the societies of Man, or were never known. And the seals of some of these are writ herein; yet others I must take with me when I leave you. ANU have mercy on my soul!”

A few verses later the Mad Arab wites:

“I have traveled beneath the Seas, in search of the Palace of Our Master, and found the stone of monuments of vanquished civilisations, and deciphered the writings of some of these; while still others remain mysteries to any man who lives.”

The Mad Arab mentions twice that he had learned certain things outside the preview of what was listed in the book. Twice this is mentioned on the same page. Later he writes:

“Watch well, however, all that they do and all that they say, and write it down in a book that no one will see, as I have done, for it will serve thee well at some future time when thou wilt recognize them by their words or by their actions.”

This is not an option, but a command. One as clear as the need to copy the book over. It is part of one’s initiatory path. Now the question is, how is this process done? How are the rites of the Ancient One copied down in a book. Why would the Mad Arab tell the reader to do such, if all they needed was in the Simon book itself? Why? This is what the Mad Arab wrote about the Ancient Ones and their books:

“And their Books are the Books of CHAOS and the flames, and are the Books of the Shadows and the Shells. And they worship the heaving earth and the ripping sky and the rampant flame and the flooding waters; and they are the raisers of the legions of maskim, the Liers-In-Wait. And they do not know what it is they do, but they do it at the demands of the Serpent, at whose Name even ERESHKIGAL gives fright, and the dread KUTULU strains at his bonds”

“Spirits, Lords of NINNGHIZHIDDA, Who upheaves the face of the Earth, Remember!”

“These incantations are said by the hidden priests and creatures of these powers, defeated by the Elders and the Seven Powers, led by MARDUK, supported by ENKI and the whole Host of IGIGI; defeaters of the Old Serpent, the Ancient Worm, TIAMAT, the ABYSS, also called KUTULU the Corpse-ENKI, yet who lies not dead, but dreaming; he whom secret priests, initiated into the Black Rites, whose names are writ forever in the Book of Chaos, can summon if they but know how.”

A Book of Chaos is a book of freedom, because you are not bound to the rulership of dead kings, which is what many of the gods were. This is why Simon defined the term “reality” in and its relation to the word of a king, in Gates of the Necronomicon, something you may not understand. If you were asking sincere questions, like how does this information compare to the tradition of a qliphotic, or the Greater Mysteries themselves then I can understand, but you have made your own determination, so your interests has a lot to do with another agenda.

See this comes all down to jealousy. All these other writers, Crowley wrote the Book of the Law. There are many Lovecraftian magicians who just work with the energies of the Cthulhu Mythos, even Kenneth Grant lists a lot of energies that could be worked with that were unknown less than a centurey ago. Maybe if you knew the method of how these men were able to obtain their knowledge about energies and deities, that no one has ever heard of, but are still respected, then you could use that method in your review of the Tablets. Learn that method first!

If you are going to raise these questions, begin at the beginning. Begin with Crowley and Grant. Actually you should begin with Enochian magic, for those governors are not known in the societies of men either. Why are those systems considered acceptable and what processes was that information received? This is why your questions are so uneducated to that process.

If you were to calculate the term AGGA with gematric methods, you were discover a lot of amazing things, Interestingly, the Agga sign is not included above the heading of the Book of the Worm. Maybe you don’t work with that book?

Yes Marduk took the Tablets of Destinies from Tiamat and used such to split her in half, which I always saw as how the consciousness of duality came into being. So you you mean to tell me that you take this literally. here is your question:

“Where are the photos of these tablets that are hung around the neck, from which the Ivory Tablets are based off of? What is this Cult of Ny-ARZIR? What reference are you using? How can the Tablet of Destiny come in manuscript form, when it was hung around the neck of Marduk?”

The Enuma Elish say the following about the Tablets of Destinies:

“She hath given him the Tablets of Destiny, on his breast she laid them, saying: ‘Thy command shall not be without avail, and the word of thy mouth shall be established.’”

So you’re asking questions about something being hung around the neck? So you take these Tablets literally then? This is discussed actually in the Atlantean N Necronomicon. Clearly you’ve lost your mind and know nothing about the Necronomicon mysteries with your’re Christian approach of duality. You’ve listed all these things but do not know the meaning of the Necronomicon Mysteries. I will give you one example in your comments, here is something that you said:

“You’ve clearly lost your mind, departed from the very book you’ve based your blog on.

Now if you look at the quoted material it brings out that celestial deities, didn’t need any form of sacrifice.Later in your comment you wrote:

“You posted this without looking onto page 58 which reads:

MARDUK, Who gives the Stars their Powers, Remember!”

And thats exactly what the Tablets of Destinies are my lost subscriber. If you had really researched Sumeria you would have known that the Tablets of Destinies is the power given to star, for it is called the Power of Anu. If such power needs no sacrifice, true celestial deities that is, can you explained why such is called for in the Simon book? Don’t worry I’ll wait! Btw let’s move on to the what you said in your conclusion:

“Know, sixthly, that thou shalt seek the operations of this Magick save by the rules and governments set down herein, for to do other is to take the most awful risk, for thyself and for all mankind. Therefore, heed these words carefully, and change not the words of the incantations, whether thou understand them, or understand them not, for they are the words of the Pacts made of Old, and before Time.”

So whats the difference in the statement that you quoted here and what is said late in the Simon Necronomicon?

“Watch well, however, all that they do and all that they say, and write it down in a book that no one will see, as I have done, for it will serve thee well at some future time when thou wilt recognize them by their words or by their actions.”

Don’t worry, I’ll wait! seems like you have gotten a bit emotional over things. No good. Its funny how Intiaties of the Simon Necronomicon path can include all of these researches into other authors and their systems in to their work, but I can’t talk about such or do such. Its a sign that there is still work to do. Take comfort in your slavery.

See you don’t get it! If the Simon Necronomicon is the world’s most-powerful system, then the magicians that it turns out and their works should be studied. Not this “I’m going to work with the Necronomicon, but also work with some Taoist stuff, or something from a “chaos magic system that was formed by a magician years ago, that acceptable because he was down with a popular organization.

  5. So, if no god is the true god, Mr. Asylum are you saying that Tiamat does not exist? Does Allah not exist? Does Shaitan not exist? Does Ishtar not exist? Answer me, that! If you are relegating that to a mere emotion, then you are doing what Sage Simon has said on page 214 of Gates of the Necronomicon:

They return to their daily activities, busily convincing themselves and each other “there’s really nothing to all that magick stuff,” when their experience has shown them there is really nothing to themselves. These poor souls think they can return to a normal life and leave their one glimpse of spiritual potential behind them forever.

    Fools.

The numerical value of *English* gematria is not enough to go by, Mr. Asylum, knowing well that medieval kabbalists did not use a computer to investigate the relationship between words in Hebrew. It was through contemplation and meditation that those insights were gained when those Kabbalists studied the Torah. I could see gematria would be a tool in investigating the relationship between Hebraic words in the Torah, but this is not enough to go by in English.

So you made it up? The freedom to make up what you want. Crowley told us where he got his Book of the Law from. Grant chronicled his experiments. We know where Dee and Kelley got their material from. Yet, you are making *false* claims about where you got these tablets from! They were not used by Marie Laveau, John Dee, or Austin Osman Spare! If you told the truth about where you got this book from and said you made it up, I would have been completely fine by that. Yet, by making all these false claims it is a sign you got this from an evil spirit! If Spare had really used these tablets why are they revealed to you now and not being used by the Illuminates of Thanateros? Why were they not spoken of by Grant?

Not this “I’m going to work with the Necronomicon, but also work with some Taoist stuff, or something from a “chaos magic system that was formed by a magician years ago, that acceptable because he was down with a popular organization.

That’s a sincere question you have asked. “No god is the true god,” statement is a metaphor meaning that in our work we take that which is self aware in us and merge with its source, which is pure consciousness. There are powerful forces on different planes and all of these forces are seeking to evolve to a higher state of consciousness as well. So the idea of limiting oneself in dedication to a force that could be deceptive in convincing one that they are the creator of all there is, or the spirit of a dead king that later became known as a god, and worshiping such, is not the purpose of our existence if we are to evolve. The Ivory Tablets clearly states that their is nothing wrong in communicating with such, but these should not be worshiped as a substitute for the force of pure consciousness, which so many religious and magical systems have done. That is all.

See you don’t get it! If the Simon Necronomicon is the world’s most-powerful system, then the magicians that it turns out and their works should be studied. Thanks, for trying prove the Necronomicon system wrong!

Medieval kabbalists did not use computers and most of their works were not in English either. However, English gematria is based on the Sumerian numbering system, a point you may have overlooked in the article. We can’t say the same for Hebrew, or Greek gematria.

The article clearly shows in the example of the IAADUENI that the simon Necronomicon is a valid system as knowledge of English gematria was not popularly known when the Simon tome was publishede. If you are reading an incantation in Greek, or Latin, then using the forms of Gematria appropriate to the language in good. we use in the Western hemisphere, English. The Sumerian spells in the Simon Necronomicon are translated into English or use English letters for its pronunciation. so knowing the numerical value of English letters, I believe is very important. And if tooken with proper intent, it reveals that we do have a valuable source in the Simon tome, as the true pronunciation of many Sumerian words is unknown, but the numerical value can reveal its relationship to other words.

  9. I am not saying that it was made up, and really we don’t know where Crowley, Grant, or Dee got their information from save that it came from their experiments, which is why the Mad Arab tells the initiates of the Necronommicon Tradition that they must write their own book. If you believe you know where they got their information from based on what they said then you really have a lot of faith in people you haven’t met. Just go back to church, or realize that the only way you could ever validate their work is by taking a non-bias stance and experimenting with their work, but in reality it is still “chaos magick.”

“Crowley’s Magick was a testimony of what he has found in his researches into the forbidden, and forgotten, lore of past civilisations and ancient times. His Book of the Law was written in Cairo in the Spring of 1904, when he believed himself to be in contact with a praeter-human intelligence called Aiwass who dictated to him the Three Chapters that make up the Book. It had influenced him more than any other, and the remainder of his life was spent trying to understand it fully, and to make its message known to the world. It, too, contains the formulae necessary to summon the invisible into visibility, and the secrets of transformations are hidden within its pages, but this is Crowley’s own NECRONOMICON, received in the Middle East in the shadow of the Great Pyramid of Gizeh, and therein is writ not only the beauty, but the Beast that yet awaits mankind.”

Can you show me one ancient document with the name Aiwass? No you can’t. Crowley and Grant were able to validate the existence of Aiwass through gematria. But if you are truly sincere, when did you question a thelemite on these things? Just curious.

John Dee and Edward Kelly took down all this information only to be told later that they were deceived by an evil spirit and must re-work what was written prior, so what proof do you have to say that this system was legitimate? Just curious.

Many occult authors were trying to inspire freedom in civilization. if a person has been properly initiated, they have such a chance for such freedom. Freedom in developing a relationship with the very same forces that a revered in man’s history and beyond. Think about it if people are worshipping the same energies that were worshiped thousands of years ago, then maybe they are enslaved by the same spirits that those people were.

Later adepts knew this and as they became advanced in the fields of Thelema, Enochian and other forms of magick, they were able to hold sway of those sincere individuals seeking to transform themselves. So what they did is attack anything outside the preview or works by these authors as “chaos magic,” in order to keep their membership chained to their agenda. Its sad, for this was not the intent of Crowley or many of the famous magicians of our common era. This is why the Simon Necronomicon was attacked, because it could lead the practitioner out of this sort of bondage. Think about it for a second. You may not have known this side of the battle and certain things I can’t mention, due to my own oaths, never let you left hand know what the right is doing, but I’d figure you may not be aware of this, but please leave the accusations out as that is not our intent, of which you of? Here is what I mean. Here is what you said:

” Yet, you are making *false* claims about where you got these tablets from! Why were they not spoken of by Grant?”

You should research the history of grimoires in the making. First, were the keys of Solomon used by biblical King Solomon? Is Enochian magic the magic used by Enoch, or Enmeduranki? Was the Simon Necronomicon received in a stolen book heist by two priests? Why aren’t you saying that an “evil spirit” was behind these works then?

Maybe the references John Dee, Austin Osman Spare, and Marie Laveau, have a lot to do with the forms of magick they practiced and how it relates to the information found in the Ivory Tablets. Have you look to see if their were any correlations? I doubt it. maybe you are used to having everything spelled out for you. Still religious. Still enslaved.

  10. Simon of Necronomicon fame was accused of the same. No, I am not pushing Buddhism, nor do i follow that path.Nor have a publicly discredited the Necronomicon. Actually the reverse is true. I’ve spent years working on public validation of the Simon Necronomicon and am working in validating it further, as seen in this post that you claim to have read. since English gematria is based on the Sumerian system of numbering, it actually confirms that correpsondences in the Simon tome are true.

Readers can only be taken away from the Mighty, as you accused me of, only when they become slaves to a particular teaching, instead of using such to transform themselves. This idea that swear by the Necronomicon they Muslims swear by the Qu’ran is very unhealthy, and is only useful to individuals who want to appear loyal to a group, but it has nothing to do with a person’s progress.

If you really think that I have the time to think of all these gematric values and their consistent correlations between words that appear in the Simon Necronomicon and the Ivory Tablets, then you are truly lost.

  11. I could actually look up the energies listed in the Simon Necronomicon.

I could actually relate the energies within the Keys of Solomon with Arabic Magic, with the 72 jinn that Sulaiman had bound up.

John Dee and Edward Kelley did not make absurd claims as you did.

Crowley also did not make absurd claims about where he got The Book of the Law. He even tells us the process by which he had received the book, where, and when.

We know where Kenneth Grant got his information from. He did not make absurdist claims about how he received his work. .

Your book is no Necronomicon! Especially when it takes sigils from the Necronomicon itself and you try to establish something new. You can’t legitimize this work by discrediting the very book that you were initiated with! It doesn’t make any sense.

So what is your position on the Necronomicon, Mr. Asylum?

We know where Crowley got his rites from. We know where Grant got his rites from. We know what they both experimented with and found for themselves from what they journalled and published.

However, we know nothing about these Ivory Tablets and at least Crowley and Grant did not legitimize themselves by claiming that Dee used their work, or Marie Laveau had used their work.

  12. Mr. Asylum
The I-Ching and the Necronomicon have no connection to the Ivory Tablets. From your recent video’s you discredit the Simon Necronomicon and state may things that are false this maybe to try to bring people to your recent book or new cult. The purchase of your book was a good story but it is discredited in the introduction. You claim Spare used it and John Dee mention it in his proposal to Queen Mary. Again clearly a false claim. It has many holes within it that prove it is just a money or ego grab. I can tell you really don’t work with the I-Ching or the Necronomicon because if you did you would not be posting such madness.

  13. Actually you should investigate history a little further.

The legend of the 72 jinn that Solomon bound are not known. According to the mythical history of the Key of Solomon, as recorded in its introduction, Solomon wrote the book for his son Rehoboam, and commanded him to hide the book in his sepulchre upon his death. After many years the book was discovered by a group of Babylonian philosophers repairing Solomon’s tomb. None could interpret the text, until one of them, Iohé Grevis, suggested that they should entreat the Lord for understanding. The Angel of the Lord appeared to him and extracted a promise that he would keep the text hidden from the unworthy and the wicked, after which he was able to read it plainly. Iohé Grevis then placed a conjuration on the book that the unworthy, the unwise or those who did not fear God would not attain the desired effect from any of the workings contained therein.

When did you question workers of the Key of Solomon as to why they used a mythical introduction? You should learn about occult history first, This is what you said:

“John Dee and Edward Kelley did not make absurd claims as you did.”

Actually, Dee and Kelley claimed to have received such information from “angels” while it was later discovered that much of what they wrote originated in works like the Heptameron and the Book of Soyga. Why haven’t you confronted any Enochian magicians about this? No but you have time to criticize people. Here is something else you said:

“Crowley also did not make absurd claims about where he got The Book of the Law. He even tells us the process by which he had received the book, where, and when. We know where Kenneth Grant got his information from. He did not make absurdist claims about how he received his work. .

Actually this is what Crowley wrote in Equinox of the Gods:

“Certain very serious questions have arisen with regard to the method by which this Book was obtained. I do not refer to those doubts –real or pretended –which hostility engenders, for all such are dispelled by study of the text; no forger could have prepared so complex a set of numerical and literal puzzles..”

Kenneth Grant’s occult experiences began in 1939 during World War II, when he claims to have received the first transmission of the “outerhuman being” S’lba.

still you haven’t shown me any historical documents before the time of Crowley and Grant that contain the Aiwass or S’lba. Why do you have faith in what they said so strongly. Why haven’t you argued and questioned those who follow that path?

I don’t understand Mr. M why you just keep missing the point. Here is something else you said:

“Your book is no Necronomicon! Especially when it takes sigils from the Necronomicon itself and you try to establish something new. You can’t legitimize this work by discrediting the very book that you were initiated with! It doesn’t make any sense…So what is your position on the Necronomicon, Mr. Asylum?”

First, I didn’t discredit the book. Second, I still teach the initiatory rites held in the Simon Necronomicon to many and support the Tradition that I cam from. In 1994, Amaya Taoka begins the initiatory process

“When you are born, you must learn how to exercise your own divinity. The one who knows everything is not divine. Remember, the true meaning of god is always connected to something unconscious.”

Here is a direct quote about Spare that is public knowledge, mentioned even on Wikipedia:

“Spare placed great emphasis on the unconscious part of the mind, believing that it was the source of inspiration. He considered the conscious part of the mind to be useless for this, believing that it only served to reinforce the separation between ourselves and that which we desire.”

  21. Excuse me if I’m mistaken Mr Suller, but I don’t think you or a few others get it when it comes to the Ivory Tablets of the Crow. I just listed an article illustrating by the use of English gematria and Simple gematria that what is described in the Ivory Tablets of the Crow correlates “coincidentally” with the names of the deites that existed in the Cult that existed before Babylon was built. I also entertained quite a few comments and questions concerning the text that entered many subjects. But here’s a question for you “Mr. Hasan sabbath Suller,” what if I did “channel” the book? If it is true to the Greater Mysteries it would still have to take the Initiate through the path described in the Simon Necronomicon’s Introduction:

“These were the sorcerer’s handbooks, and generally not meant as textbooks or encyclopedias of ceremonial magick. In other words, the sorcerer or magician is supposed to be in possession of the requisite knowledge and training with which to carry out a complex magickal ritual, just as a cook is expected to be able to master the scrambling of eggs before he conjures an “eggs Benedict”; the grimoires, or Black Books, were simply variations on a theme, like cookbooks, different records of what previous magicians had done, the spirits they had contacted, and the successes they had. The magicians who now read these works are expected to be able to select the wheat from the chaff, in much the same fashion as an alchemist discerning the deliberate errors in a treatise on his subject….”

I am honoring that process. what are you doing? What is your stance on the Simon Necronomicon? You could just be a heckler in the audience trying to upset a certain process. Now I am really starting to understand what Simon went through when the Necronomicon was published!

  28. As in so many generations past, Magick has always been a crucible of conflict. These “discussions” point to the nature of ancient war over religion. We are all free to to choose our beliefs. religion is the sham cover one needs to keep their sanity, or to shroud their lack of it.
To make a plausible connection between Asian mysticism and Sumerian mysticism, or the Tablets is not out of the realm of reasonable discussion. We are all aware what affect the silk road had on the development of modern civilization. Although the tablets certainly are difficult to confirm as “real”. Mr. Warlock Asylum has extended great risk to his personal reputation in bringing them to our attention.
Did Simon take any less risk when the Necronomicon was first released? The world of Mysticism is not for the weak. Mastery of it will burn the Dross from your being and leave a healthy magician in what used to be a sloppy, lazy, uninformed, easily led sheep of a human. Or, you will go insane; by irresponsible pursuit of an impossible ideal. Through my years of learning these things, i have concluded that the universe will hash out the fackery.

I spent years upon years looking for those of like mind and have found it here at “Papers in the Attic”, and other places :). It is far to early to discount anything that is discussed concerning the Tablets. To draw ANY conclusions concerning they’re existence is folly. Let us attempt to remember that we are in the business of working with largely unknown forces as far as the so-called modern world is concerned. To accept as reality a 3500+ year old religio-mystical system is borderline for most “white-lighters”. Should we discount the discovery of Gobkli tepe ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6bekli_Tepe )simply because we dont understand its origins? Should we, regardless of their capabilities discount their superior artistic talents? We have entered a new age and i am fairly certain that these new discoveries are not to be the last. The only people who should at this point be critical of the tablets publication are those that study them. If you do not have the intestinal fortitude to learn the path. Then I advise you leave critical discussions of the tablets to those who are prepared to TRAVEL the path. Thank-You. Stay blessed all.

  31. No, Mr. Suller, your way of thinking has many cracks. If you were really part of the Necronomicon Tradition, you wouldn’t be wasting your time coming on this blog page and criticizing others. If you were really about the Necronomicon you would have your own site to maintain and a growing organization, one that has its own land and meeting place. You said the “Necronomicon works” in one of your earlier comments, so I would imagine you would have these things, for this is the end of what is true magic in how it conforms to our will.

So besides the special effects of the Simon tome, can you explain the scientific process of how you achieved these things by use of this Necronomicon? Don’t worry I’ll wait! See, you can go into all this stuff about the Ivory Tablets and whatever, but real magicians know that the real test is if it works or not. Actually the same claims you are making were made against the Simon Necronomicon, which tells us that you have not worked with either book properly, for if you did, you would be busy in your own work.

  32. There are questions I hesitate to ask, simply because I do not want them to be mixed up with the negative comments above. But I am of a curious nature, so please understand the following is in a sincere quest for knowledge.

While I found the article informative and interesting in presenting the different associations, if I were to point out a glitch it’s that Sumerian writing didn’t use letters the way the English language does. The cuneiform characters represented syllables… at least, from my understanding of it.

I do not claim to be an expert in gematria or Mesopotamian language by any stretch, but I wonder how the numerology from that ancient system applies using the letters we use in this written language when it was non-existent at the time, nor anything like it. If the numerology and writing are both Sumerian or older, and presumably designed to work in conjunction, shouldn’t the values be associated to the cuneiform characters (syllables) instead of the modern characters (individual letters) we use? Couldn’t that possibly change some of the conclusions presented above?

Again, I’m not looking to discredit. Feel free to correct my logic if appropriate. Any insight is appreciated.

    Thanks!

  33. Gematria and numerology are not the same thing. English gematria is based on the Sumerian numbering system, which is uniquely different than many others. The first attested use of gematria occurs in an inscription of Assyrian ruler Sargon II (727–705 BCE) stating that the king built the wall of Khorsabad 16,283 cubits long to correspond with the numerical value of his name. It is important to understand that gematria and numerology are not the same science.

Gematria is a science that dictates certain values for certain letters and also that is a word or a group of words have are equal in value, then they must relate in some way, shape, or form. The Sumerian’s counting or numbering system, arguably the oldest known, was based on the numbers 6 and 10. This was written in cuneiform script, consisting of cones and circles.

One item was represented by a single cone (1).
Ten cones equates to one small circle (10×1).
Six small circles equates to one large cone or six cones (6×10).
Ten large cones equates to a large cone with a circle inside (60×10)
Six of those large cones with a circle inside equates to a large circle (600×6)
Ten large circles equates to a large circle with a small circle inside (3,600×10)
A large circle with a small circle inside equates to 36,000 individual units (10x6x10x6x10).

Dr Church has simulated the numbering system with the English language to develop an English Gematria System based on the number 6. Assigning numbers to the English alphabet in increments of 6, each letter has a numeric value being a multiple of 6. For example:A=6, B=12, C=18, D=24.

“The Sumerian system can still be seen in our use of the foot (12 inches = 2 x 6) and yard (36 inches = 6 x 6), in our 24 hour clock (24 = 4 x 6), and our sexagesimal measurement of time (60 seconds, 60 minuets)”

    Warlock Asylum

    June 9, 2013 at 12:13 pm

  34. Indeed, I understand that the Sumerian numbering system is “base-60″ (6 x 10) and that it’s influence is still prominent to this day. Forgive me for interchanging the terms gematria and numerology. Just shows how much I don’t know :P

My confusion lies in carrying over a Sumerian application to another language whose written system is drastically different (applying values to letters vs syllables). But if you say Dr. Church has essentially simulated the application, then that explains it. In other words, I suppose he has taken old knowledge and modernized its use as best he could.

Interestingly, all one needs to do for the conversion is multiply the simple gematria by 6 to obtain the new value, but which ever approach one uses, related concepts will never differ. The only added value imho is when the numbers have a deeper meaning themselves, like the 666 mentioned. But there may be more revealed above than I am aware of, and as this is territory I’ve never explored, no more will be said on my part.

    Thanks for the clarification.
